This facility is good and has met all of our expectations. It's in a great location. I really like that they encourage residents to be active and try to avoid spending their days in their rooms. The nurses are good and the staff is great overall. Before moving mom here, dad was her fulltime caregiver. It was a lot for him and he's relieved to know she's in a good place and being taken care of. Housekeeping does a great job. The food is good quality and variety. They offer activities and the director was great about explaining them prior to moving in, but mom hasn't participated in them yet. Communication with the family could improve. I have to initiate it and it's good when I do, but they don't reach out to me. I would recommend them to family and friends.

We toured with Orchard Park at Victory Lakes. The facility and staff seemed very nice but we were looking for a place that focused solely on memory care.

We toured with Brookdale Medical Center Whitby. While this facility was nice - it did not have the feel that we were looking for. We also wanted a facility that had more of an open concept.

Things have been pretty smooth. Other residents are friendly. The staff are extremely helpful. Food is amazing, great chef. I've enjoyed all the new activities I've learned. I'm never bored.

The food is good. I am impressed that they always remember my name. They're so friendly. I love the atmosphere. It's so beautiful, I couldn't ask for better.

I toured this facility and it wasn't what we were looking for. It didn't feel as homey. They did have in house Physical Therapy, which was great. But overall, it felt more like an insitution/skilled nursing feel. Not the best fit for us.

Everybody was very friendly and helpful. It was a nice, pleasant facility. The staff is knowledgeable. The problem was that their initial assessment of my loved one's condition was not thorough enough, and/or they did not communicate thoroughly enough to me. His care needs ended up being greater than they could handle - he needed much more 1:1 attention. Also, the doorways and bathrooms are not ADA compliant. You can't get a walker/wheelchair into the bathroom, and there were no safety bars in the bathroom other than in the shower. The staff were all very compassionate, and they gave me a refund. So as far as their intentions, they were excellent. They truly wanted to get to know us. They were very accommodating, and very patient with my loved one. The head RN was very responsive. If I ever called about anything, they would be in touch with me immediately. I think it just wasn't the right placement for him. Had he been in better physical condition, I wouldn't hesitate to take them there.

I thought Brookdale Meridian was a nice place, and we did consider them. I liked that they had individually sized dining rooms per quarter of the floor. So the dining experience was more intimate and less overwhelming with fewer people. They had good activities. The apartments were nice. The staff seemed accommodating to the residents. We just didn’t get that homey feeling we were looking for.

The best part is it felt like home for our loved one. She truly enjoyed the dining experience. They could improve on the response time to medical requests and the communication response time from the nursing staff. Barrington Terrace, feels like family.

Cleanliness is good. They started off friendly, but then they changed. They fed my loved one, and made sure that they ate. My loved one did not like the food. They had a lot of activities but my loved one did not participate. It was too much money. My loved one loved the place. Be there with your loved ones, and interact with them ,if you put them in a facility. They cared about each other there.

Of all the places I looked at - the mission statement, the leaders, and many of the individual contributors have probably the best philosophy I've ever seen. I really struggled in the decision to even place my mom in a facility, and this particular place is the best I could find. In particular, the leaders who work there, the administrator [name removed] and the director of nursing [name removed], are phenomenal and amazing. They treat every single resident with respect and dignity. The staff definitely uses them as role models and if it wasn't for them, I don't think the place would be as excellent as it is.

The community is occasionally short-staffed, like other communities are. They do a good job in trying to cover all aspects of the jobs needed to be done to care for the residents. There are three meals a day served, and there options available to choose from. In addition to meals, the community provides snacks to the residents. Some of the activities available include: musical entertainment, exercise programs, and more for the residents to engage with.

It's been clean so far. The activities are really good, but it is up to the residents to participate. Overall,so far so good.

Talbot Park wasn’t as new as other places we toured. We were looking for something more modernized. We also didn't like the location. There was nothing wrong with Talbot Park - it was just not a fit for us.

They are having staffing issues, as are most places and are under new ownership. They're working hard to fix everything but it's going to take time. Prices are fair, rooms are larger than the competition in the area. Older but a nice place. I feel they care.

They have messed up our bill for the last 3 months now. The coordination seems to be lacking. My loved one was hospitalized twice and he was supposed to be credited back partial for the care. This month we got charged for the whole last month and the month before. We keep trying to figure it out and I get the run around and it is just a big mess. That is my only real issue with them. Other than that I really like the facility - the activities are good and he gets good care.

We chose Lorain Estates because of the proximity from the facility to our house, the enthusiasm of the staff that I talked with was very good, and the cost was lower for a reasonable level of care. The staff tries really hard. They try to get her engaged and out to do things. I have also had more communication with them than our previous facility. I would say the staff is definitely the highlight of the facility. I would recommend them to others looking.

I really like the nurses, and medical assistants. They will try to come and get loved one to eat in the cafeteria. They are very compassionate and friendly. My loved one is happy. Apartment is one of the cutest apartments in the community. It's very homey and comfortable. The food is good for, what it needs to be. My loved one thinks the food is a bit bland but they prepare the food based on the needs of the residents. They have a calendar with activities, and sometimes will have live music. They have an activities room, where the residents can do jigsaw puzzles, and they have an indoor/outdoor area. It would be nice if they offered walking or light exercises, for the residents.

The place was very friendly. It seemed like a good place, for those in late stages of dementia.

So far the community seems to be a good fit for my loved one. The staff are professional and well trained. There seems to be some internal management shifts which isn't a bad thing either. Overall it is a good community. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff communication with the family is very good and they are responsive to our questions and concerns. There are three meals a day served and the residents have choices to choose from.
