Serene Gardens

First impression walking in the door was that Brookdale was more "homey" than other facilities we visited that were more "institutional/clinical". The only "bad" thing I could think of....not that it's necessarily "bad" is that there's no "system" for visitors. I.e. you just walk in and go visit - there's no one to stop you/ask you to sign in, or ask questions.

After our 100 year old mother fell, we were forced to make a quick decision on where to place her for assisted living. After touring a few facilities, we found Brookdale to be the best fit. The location is warm and inviting. The staff friendly and forthcoming. We feel that the decision we made was a good one and thank "A Place for Mom" for the referral.

Small facility with good caretaker to resident ratio. Plenty of in house activities for residents. Staff are very friendly and were attentive and empathetic when my father was going through end of life care. Worked very well with hospice staff.

Actually I would give a 5 on all counts. I was especially impressed with the cleanliness and the kind interaction from the entire staff they gave my mom.

Great attentive staff, staff takes the time to cater to the indidual. Any requests are attended to with care. Any special requirements, the staff quickly makes the necessary adjustments. The staff is friendly and treats all the residents with res.

We have been pleased with the care our Mom has received at Grandhaven. All the care workers are friendly, patient, and caring. They are good about keeping us updated on Mom’s condition and any changes needed in her care.

5 on each! They are amazing!! We would have kept our loved one there for the rest of her life, but she fell, broke her hip and could no longer stand or walk and lost all independence. She needed more intense skilled nursing care. We had to move her to a nursing home with round the clock care. Krissy and staff at Americana were top notch. They provided a clean, friendly, loving place for our loved one to live. She loved living there! It felt like a large family.

We are unable to answer the activities because MIL didn't go to any. Them seemed interesting. The community is great. In a great location. Close to freeway US23, restaurants and stores. Yes, we would recommend Serene Gardens of Hartland to other families based on the experience

Overall with just a very few exceptions the staff is friendly, responsive, and professional. Mom generally loves her meals. The facilities are well kept and clean. The activities are good. Mom for the most part participates and enjoys them. Her biggest concern is that often they are canceled. That is why I scored them a 3. Overall we are very pleased with Grandhaven.

I’ve only been at Brookdale for a week, but I can compare it to three other nursing homes I have been at in the past year and this by far exceeds any expectations and even more than that! The staff here is kind and always cheery! The food here is as good as any restaurant, if not better!! It is kept clean and bright looking, and I have no complaints so far! I would recommend this to anyone!

The staff gets a 5+. What we really like about this community is that the staff really do seem to care and we would recommend them to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

This is a wonderful place. Staff is very friendly. Working well with a great hospice staff. Couldn't be happier. [name removed]is fantastic. Always ready to help. Good meals. Good activities. Very clean.

Where improvements are needed are: transitioning a resident into physical facility, not always informing family of what was to be done when such as knowing what day laundry or showers would occur. Letting residents know how what their dining/food options are. I do want to share anytime we brought a concern to them they addressed right away and it was resolved. Very responsive. They have all new leadership staff that was very attentive. Sometimes they are short staffed and services delayed but always are attentive to residents.

The facility was very nice and clean, and all the staff was super friendly! Enjoyed visiting! I feel like this is a good safe place for residence to be. Everyone comforting, welcoming my experience Great place!!

When I went to visit the community, it was nice and clean and it smelled great. The staff seem to be friendly. They were all wearing name tags and the food looked delicious as I around lunchtime I will come to visit again.

Visiting during activities has been such a great experience. So many staff and residents involved in these events. A warm and welcoming atmosphere with great food and entertainment. Always looking forward to see what events are coming up!

The staff at Brookdale was great with my dad- who was very difficult. Some other memory care places- such as wellspring- are very compact and crowded. Brookdale was not. Brookdale was perfect for my dad because there was a lot of space to walk around and it was fairly quiet. 1 improvement- it was very problematic having to set up our own cable tv. Some other facilities include cable.

Serene Gardens is an outstanding home for my mom. The staff are so kind to her and are getting her involved with many activities. No more running around for hair appointments, Dr appointments, PT, Foot Dr. they all come to her room! My mom was on blood pressure medicine for years and now she is completely off of it because her stress levels are so low. I would recommend Serene Gardens to anyone that is looking for a home for their family member.

My overall experience was very positive, the executive director took me on a tour of the facility, very impressive with the facility and the knowledge of the director. Highly recommended fir anyone looking for a facility that offers everything one could ask for.
