My loved one was previously a resident at Aspired Living of La Grange. I will preface this review with the fact that new management took over a month before we moved our loved one out of this facility. We didn't notice many changes in that month, though. The staff are nice, but the turnover was so high. A lot of the time they just had agency people as CNAs and Memory Care attendants. None of the staff are trained in Memory Care. The turnover wasn't just CNAs, either. The turnover was high for department heads, nurses, etc. They went months without a head of nursing, head of Memory Care, or an Activities Director. I think there might have been a handful of staff that lasted the two years we were there. The new head of Memory Care had just received their certification in Memory Care the week that we left. The facility seemed very understaffed, all the time. Sometimes I'd see staff sitting on their phones instead of interacting with the residents. It has been my experience, for residents that need Memory Care, that putting your loved one in a facility that only specializes exclusively in Memory Care will lead to better outcomes. Those facilities that cater to all levels of care, like Assisted Living, Respite, etc. don't have staff properly trained, in the required skills, to help residents with dementia or Alzheimer's. The meals seemed to be very good quality. I think that this was a major plus for the facility. There were not a ton of activities, especially since there was no Activities Director. I just saw on their website that the job is still posted, unfilled, too. The housekeeping was sub par. The staff had a policy to ask a resident for something a maximum of 3 times. If they refused 3 times, the staff would not push it. Well, sometimes these Memory Care residents need help. Whether they refuse or not, your staff needs to find a way to help. At this facility, they didn't want to upset the residents. At our new facility, everyone is trained to handle these situations, redirect, and work together to solve problems. At Aspired, the staff just seemed to leave well enough alone. My father began to self isolate. He really was deteriorating, on a downward spiral. He lost a lot of weight. They brought him his meals, to eat, alone, in his room. If he didn't eat, he didn't eat. He refused to participate in activities, so they left him in his room most days. He refused to shower, so he went weeks without one. I would have have to shower him, change his clothes, and his sheets, myself. We finally moved our loved one to another facility out of concerns for his health and well being. I am happy to say, he has come back out of his shell and is thriving again! I think Aspired is a beautiful facility in a great location. It is perfect for residents who can mostly take care of themselves and just need some assistance. However, I can't recommend it for Memory Care. It was ok when my father was pretty self sufficient, but as he began to deteriorate, the lack of quantity and quality of well trained Memory Care staff was very apparent.

They seem to have a remake of the same food all day this is what the other residents were saying. They didn't seem to have a lot of activities when I was around. The biggest thing was the trip to Walmart The people that I was hearing from was it was 2 hours that included traveling too and from didn't leave much time to shop. Overall, it was the best place, and I visited quite a few before selecting Copper Springs.

It was a good place for an interim stay. We are not staying however; and relocating to a more affordable location. We were not presented with a handwritten final cost in advance. We were given flat daily rate, but her assessment drew much higher cost on top, and then the community fee, all of which we didn't know final tally until she was already in place. We had nowhere to go then. Mom was fresh out of surgery requiring no pressure on her broken limb for eight weeks straight. We were looking for interim recovery location, but even so the cost is extreme even for interim short term. As a result, and after 12 weeks post breakage of her limb, we were accepted at another location with much lesser assessment points; overall cost is almost half. I would say if you have a rather substantial money flow, then put your loved one at Woodbourne Place. Woodbourne personnel were kind and understanding. However, personnel may be leaving as we found out the parent company has been bought out.

We toured with Park Creek Place and it was just okay. We found that facility inside looked very dated and the staff that we interacted with were just so-so. It was not the right fit for us.

My mother in law thought Lake Barrington was dark and she didn't like the vibe there. The apartment they showed us was dated and very dark. She loves having her own washer and dryer in her apartment at [removed]. The elevators there were really slow and she didn't like that either. She knew immediately that Lake Barrington Woods was not the place for her. People were very nice, but she didn't like it. She also likes that the independent living is separate from most of the assisted living and totally separate from memory care. But she likes to know that those communities are available to her as she gets older. At Lake Barrington Woods they have mixed living and it kind of felt like a college dorm totally different from [removed].

Lincolnwood Place was not as well lit, and more worn, but was very competitively priced. It had comparable accommodations to the other communities we visited. But, the more urban, near-north Cook County location was less appealing than the Lake County community my Mother-in-law finally moved into, a short time later.

Assisted care and 24 hour nursing care was not provided to the level as was promised to us. I wasn't impressed with the aids very much. It seemed like most of the aids just did not want to work. There was a few nurses there that I thought truly cared for their patients. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone at this point. They have some work to do to create better care and communication with family.

We picked this community, because of the proximity to my own home & a family friend was a current resident. The facility is very clean and the staff is friendly. However, I find the communication between staff to be poor, response time to resident medical needs are slow -- where protocols aren't even in place to address emergencies, and the food is mediocre with meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) scheduled too close together.

We toured with Woodbourne Place. We did really like the staff that we met with. The main reason we did not choose this facility was because it felt small and cramped inside.

I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. My loved one wasn't happy here. The food was awful here during the time my loved one was here. This is important, as this is something residents look forward. Most of the time they were serving hot dogs. The big meal is served at lunch time, and dinner is a lighter meal. The community said there were choices, but it didn't appear to be any. The staff communication with the family was okay.

I toured The Club at Briarcliff Manor and it was pretty good. It's an older facility and not as clean as some of the other facilities that I toured. They didn't seem as friendly compared to some others that I toured, either. But again, this is based off of just a tour.

I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

We had a ton of issues with the administration out of the gate. Promises not kept, very poor communication, rudeness and lack of empathy, finally my mom got to move in about 2 weeks later than expected with no refund for the delay. I was also overcharged the first month and has to wait until the next month for a resolution. Food is low quality. I don't feel like the building is secure or that anyone is really checking on her well being. Seems like they are struggling with staffing. Generally it feels like we are paying for an extremely expensive apartment not an independent living facility. It's unfortunate because it's hard on all of us for her to move again. We are currently in the process of deciding her next steps but she won't be staying at courtyard fountains long term. Improvements that could be made are with the staffing, maybe security(more checkups), care And communication. Generally pretty much everything except the apartment itself is really nice and the maintenance guys are very kind and helpful. I would 100% not recommend anyone I know to live there. Definitely and meals. I've heard from others that they are low quality, small portions etc. I personally feel that is a big chunk of what we pay extra for so it's important. My mom only gets [fee removed] monthly in food stamps and her entire income + additional money that my brother and I pay go toward courtyard fountains rent + costs.

I toured Prairie Green at Fay's Point and it was okay. It didn't appear to be as clean as some of the other facilities that I toured. They also didn't offer the same amenities here as they do at some others. The staff was nice enough.

The actual facility was nice, location was good, good activities and transport to local stores. Welcome and orientation was lacking and not well coordinated. Food is not very good, believe they were without a true chef for a while. Went from 2 to 1 hot breakfast weekly. They are priced well above comparable options. Increased my mother's rent after 4 months. Moving after 6 months to a comparable facility. Gaining an extra bedroom and saving $1,200 a month. My mom was also unhappy with the fact that they did not provide cable TV in the monthly rent.

The community staff turn-over is high. The food is expensive and not that good you have $400 but there is no way to opt out, you can use the money towards the hair salon though but you must use the $400 or you lose it. Most of the staff is very nice and pleasant to deal with. I have seen management yell at the staff before. It wasn't always this way, however it use to feel homey and it is a comfortable place, there's just a couple of things that need major improvements on.

I've lived here 8 years. Management emphasizes the word "independent" living all the time. So resident conflicts are left up to residents to solve themselves. That seems to have led to some spreading rumors about others that the less alert believe. It's difficult to solve things like this without management support.

I toured this community. It's an older facility and definitely seems like more of a nursing home setting than an assisted living facility. Their regular tour guide was gone that day and the person who stepped in wasn't as knowledgeable or able to answer our questions. I will say, the regular tour guide did reach out to me and follow up/offer to answer questions I had.

Copper Springs is cheaper than any other place I found. But the activities, meals, and care need improvement.
