Most of the people there at Meadowbrook of Agoura Hills are very good. The food is fair. Sometimes it is great, but usually just fair. While most of the staff is very understanding and considerate, but there is one staff member that has been a little rude to me on a couple of occasions and that can definitely impact my outlook on the place.

My mother is living at Woodbourne Place. Overall, I think it's the right match for her. She receives 3 wholesome meals a day. Medicine is carefully taken care of. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only things that should be improved on is the cleaning of apartments and following through on listed activities. There needs to be more activities for the residents. I give it a rating of fair to good. Thank you.

My family looked at several places for Mom. One reason we chose Baywinde is because they allowed Mom to bring her cat. This was very important to her. We also liked the special memory care area. There are a lot of different activities so Mom was busy throughout the day, not just sitting in her room watching t.v. The meals are nutritious and delicious. We feel good knowing She is safe and happy.

When I approached Spring Hills about placing my Mom who had a stroke that left Her right side immobile and unable to speak. Throughout the interview process I received nothing but assurance that they could hanfke Mom in her condition and was lead to believe that the assigned level of care(highest) she would receive would address all of her needs. This was sadly misleading. While there is no doubt in my mind the staff cares for the residents their failure to consistently deliver has left me disappointed. I am paying extra for the personal care I was lead to believe was included ( this place is lovely but very expensive to begin with) in monthly fees. With better communication, staffing and practices this place could be great. At present its good and considering it was the best of all I've seen Mom will stay for now.

I wish the assisted living in room monitors didn't act as the PA system. It's confusing to my mother. The nurses make announcements asking another nurse to "declare their location" or basically, where are you? What room are you in providing care.....what resident are you with.....that kind of an announcement and my mom is very confused by that kind of noise. When she is in her room this apparently goes on throughout the day. The announcements about lunch and general activities are great but the facility needs to find a better way to allow staff to "page" each other without disturbing residents.

They seem to be doing a pretty good job. It's kept pretty clean, no concerns there. They are a little understaffed on the weekends though. I haven't had any complaints about the food so far. Overall they are doing a good job.

Clean, very attractive surroundings - nice common areas & dining room, individual studio or 1 bedroom apartments provide comfortable privacy when desired. Well-kept outdoor courtyard & front porch. Caring friendly staff with varying levels of care to suit wide range of residents. Activities daily, encouraging residents to be active. Nice social time at meals. Costly, but you get what you pay for.

There are some of the staff that are great, but there are a few that are pretty rude, and we have had a few problems with them more than once. The sales staff and the head nurse are quick to respond to an email, but accuracy can be an issue we have had some medication errors, that were caught first by my loved one. They have a great calendar of events, but there could be some more stimulating options. They do not manage the food very well, it's nice that they have a little log book for requests. I think just following through and being consistent would be helpful. We liked that they were a newer facility, and beautifully decorated, and they designed the building with memory care in mind. It's nice that it's a flat rate where it's all included.

Overall, good. My sister has been there a little over a month and is "settling in". The staff is kind, and happy. They are open to suggestions. My only wish would be that they try to engage her more in more activities. They offer, she says "No thank you" and that seems to be the end of their efforts. I know they can't force her to do things but I am concerned that she spends too much of her day isolated in her room. She has been a very gregarious person most of her life and it is sad to see her this way.

It didn't seem like there was anybody there. It seemed more like a resort, than a community. I couldn't get a sense of how it really was, it felt staged. It seemed like there were actors as opposed to people living there. People seemed like they were dancing in the halls and I just thought there is no way that is what living here is like.

We just went in for a quick visit so I didn’t get at much detail on them but I would probably rate them somewhere in the middle of all the ones I saw. It looked like they had good social program but the building was a little more outdated and worn, especially for the cost.

Some of the staff are good, caring, and loving. We still have issues from time to time with the laundry and putting clothes away properly. Meal times are still a concern, but I can see a huge improvement in the overall situation. The staff are more attentive with making sure residents have their drinks and meals together. I will say they still need to get a better time frame with how long the residents have to wait to be served. Sometimes they are sitting at the dining tables for a good 20-30 minutes before the food comes out. That may be the kitchen staff or lack of communication on their part!??

Some of the staff weren't very helpful. Room was out of soap. Asked 3 separate days and was never refilled. They did have some activities that were good, but you had to be there to encourage your loved one to participate. Food was awful.

Been here 2 years in July 2026 there's a reason it's one of the most inexpensive senior apartments on the north side building is old , elevators and plumbing need a lot of work maintenance leaves a lot to be desired not always addressed quickly food is mediocre, they nickel and dime you for everything that needs to be done [Amount Removed] for this [amount removed] for that[amount removed] for that, and not necessarily well done, just a little tired and worn around the edges it's sort of sad. I will say most of the staff is wonderful friendly respectful and there are a lot of programs to do those are the positive things

In the beginning, [name removed] was recovering from surgery, so we liked the idea of monthly health assessment and possibly moving her to independent living from Assisted Living where she was initially placed. Also, it had good ratings, the sales person was friendly and informative, and the fact it was a rental, not buy in. But, what actually happened is that there was no monthly health assessments. Even though we requested, it wasn't done and we were billed for additional services that we didn't use. Also the health side was really lacking in assisted living- missing prescriptions, lack of responses. We had to fight with management to get charges waived and to get the assessment completed to move her down to Independent living. She has successfully moved to independent living and it seems to be much smoother.

The on boarding was unsatisfactory. The ED was terminated the week after move in. There is a systemic cultural problem from the top down of complacency. Billing is inaccurate and the phrase "just pay it and we will sort it out" is the standard as answer. The new ED has been onsite almost 6 weeks. There has been some improvement but it is far too slow. From the outside looking in, it appears that corporate is disengaged and "it will get fixed when it gets fixed". The plus side is that Mama adores her care givers and nurses. She said the food is amazing and they have a great selection. She has also voiced her issue on some of the things that bother her (smell in her hallway and failure to do laundry/change linens).

Experience started very positive until my step mother's health rapidly declined then my father's also declined. Addison is not very responsive to increased needs. Both my father and stepmother were under hospice while residents at Addison. Hospice was required to ensure adequate emotional and physical needs were met. Addison did not provide these services. Addison did refer a hospice service that they customarily use. Addison is a safe choice IF your loved one is in reasonable physical and cognitive shape and still fairly independent

They are doing a number of improvements to the facility. the apartment was a nice size. I did not like that the activities were spread out in many different buildings and locations. This makes it difficult to navigate in the winter.

We have not been pleased with Addington. Staff turnover has been high. Charged us for highest level of care yet there was no reason given nor upgrade to care.

This community stood out to us because they offered a one-time fee with no additional add-ons, unlike the other places we toured, and they even provided a complimentary month. The building was clean with no odors, located at ground level, and had a stronger staff-to-resident ratio than others we considered. We also appreciated that we didn't have to go through an extensive financial vetting process. While the experience hasn't been perfect and we are still working through a few challenges, the staff has been outstanding overall. Everyone is kind, though there are moments when communication could be better. After having my mother with us for so long, it has been an adjustment to hand over day-to-day care to others, but she seems happy - and that is what matters most.
