My experience at Topanga Park has been extraordinary. As a volunteer, being able to interact with the seniors and getting to know them, along with hearing their stories has been a real treasure. Not being familiar with working with the senior population, Topanga Park’s staff and residents gave me a new appreciation and understanding of the senior lifestyle. The staff is eccentric, knowledgeable, professional, and most of all personable. Charles Rosenson, Executive Director goes above and beyond for his residents, making sure they are taken care of with the upmost respect. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking into an assisted living facility with memory care and anyone who wants to start volunteering within the senior community. Keep on doing what you do Topanga Park! BINGO!

Mr. Charlie Rosenson is a hands on owner who ensures that all aspects of his facility to meet everyone's needs. The staff members are especially friendly, efficient, and treat the residents with dignity and respect. This facility is assisted living at it's best. I would highly recommend Topanga Park to anyone looking for a diligent, comfortable, and “homey” facility who can assist in all areas of personal care. With occasional outings and a weekly music program. Yet the feel of independence in their own room.

We seem to be satisfied with everything so far. It was less than we were going to be charged at the skilled nursing facility and this has more of a life there. That's one reason we chose it. The care is pretty good. There's only one nurse there so sometimes there's mix ups, if a doctor changes orders they don't always catch it right away but that all got straightened out. My mom has dementia so inconsistencies kind of screw her up but it's not that big a deal. In her words, she not that big of a joiner but she loves the bingo. They change things around so she gets confused. There's a calendar but that's not always correct. As far as other activities, I imagine she'll join in. She's only been there a couple months. She really likes it now and it's about 5 minutes away from my house so I can get there quickly if anything happens.

I have had the pleasure to get to know all the staff at Hillcrest Assisted Living and I must say they are doing amazing and are a great team of people. The Administrator is new and really knows what she is doing and has an open door policy for staff, residents and families. They have a new Director of Nursing who really knows his job. New Kitchen Manager is doing a great job. When you walk into Hillcrest you can feel that residents and staff are happy. I have been coming into Hillcrest for a couple years now and since February this place is the best. Apartments are huge and the prices are very reasonable.

My Mom lives here. The building is fairly new and is solely independent living. There are no places to go for walks because the property is fenced in and there’s a highway that runs right in front of it. The staff seems to be fine and Mom likes her apartment. She has a good view of the ocean from her room. The food they serve is okay; she’s allowed to take her meals to her room, so she takes advantage of that a lot. A lot of the residents can’t interact with her because they aren’t as high functioning, so it can be a bit boring. Overall, I would recommend this place, but they should create a walking path for the residents that want to take walks.

I have been here for 10 days I really like this place. The residents are very friendly and the staff are very helpful. The only thing I have a problem with is the Internet it doesn't work throughout the facility. I needed to be in an Assistant Living Facility and I am glad my daughter found this one

Westmont Living has been the perfect place for my grandma. She has lunch and dinner in the dining room and even though she is a picky eater she is still able to find something she likes. The staff are very friendly and know us by name they also give us updates on how my grandma is doing. Although she does not participate in any activities at this time there is a wide variety. The cost is a lot less than others but the care is the same.

They give an awful lot of attention to each one of their clients. They are very attentive to the clients needs. They could offer more activities, as the few they have do get kind of repetitious. Other than that it has been a great experience and I would recommend Topanga Park Assisted Living.

Maybe a little more supervision due to lack of staff. I think the food is good quality and variety, Seems like they are on top of the grooming and hygiene.

Our family member has been living at Topanga Park for several years. The staff has made her transition from living at home to complete care a seamless experience. She is happy, healthy, always well groomed and much more pleasant than when she was at home with a caregiver. The lovely back yard, patio, and pool area give the residents the sense of being in a park. And, just as important, we have really no stress worrying about her well being. The staff is like an extended family making our worries so much less consuming. For this we are very grateful to Charlie for running such a warm and friendly facility.

We transferred our Mother from another facility in the Southern California area and have found the care and surroundings to be far superior to those from her former facility. Topanga Park spends far more time with their residents and treat them well as family, not just patients. Charlie runs the facility with personal care and attention to detail, and creates a staff and environment which reflects his caring and superior knowledge. The surroundings are pleasant and homey, always clean and well maintained. Never have I walked in to Topanga Park to visit my mother and felt it was sterile and cold, yet I have also never smelled any malodors which can commonly be reflected with a care facility. The food is superior in quality, taste and nutritional value. My mother suffers from advanced dementia and we have noticed an improvement in her condition since she has been a resident at Topanga Park.

We've been very happy with the service here! Everyone is so friendly, and the staff are warm and welcoming. The facility itself is very nice looking, and they always keep it very clean. The food is also delicious!

The facility was dated but they are doing some upgrades. It was clean. But again it was older and needed freshened. The staff was quite helpful. They were good about checking in and getting things done. And they were kind. The apartment itself was a decent size. One bedroom with kitchenette. I did not personally eat the food but they had quite a variety and they had snacks everywhere all of the time. Not perfect but a very good all around place. I'd recommend it to anyone.

When mom moved in no one came to explain how the system at AV worked. It took several days until someone came and gave her an orientation. That was too long to wait

The staff at Canyon Trails were very caring and friendly. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

My brother seems to really like it there and I have heard no complaints from him.

The staff were kind and caring to my mother. The facility was safe and clean. I think they were on a tight budget and not all food choices were always available. The management changed in the 6 weeks my mother was a resident.

Every place is extremely expensive. The Government needs to address this situation as soon as possible. Yes. I would recommend them to others.
