At first we were very impressed with personal attention and overall facility. However, some billing issues and very slow service and rape to personal care needs at times and with the major change in food service times, now dinner is so early it is ridiculous, have changed our view. It is still a good value, safe, clean, and with the basic amenities, but there are definite issues.

Didn't like it. There are two separate buildings. I went to the first building and liked it, then went to the second building for memory care and the lobby was too dark and disgusting. I can say that the people were very, very nice.

There was a lot of things that they sold us on that simply we're not true. As in they do not drive residence anywhere but Dr appointments with the bus, and they need a 2 weeks advance notice. I was told they would take them to my house or anywhere else they wanted to go. They said there would be daily housekeeping and a deep cleaning once a week. Whatever they doing is not sufficient, because the resident ends up cleaning. All of the administration pretty much quit after we were sold on all these claims. They are very dismissive to residence until they have an advocate with them. This is very demeaning for The residence. The food is good and the front desk lady is very kind. Beware of roommate situations as they are very slow to make a change to get you out of a bad situation. There are rent increases yearly and seem extreme, especially for people with fixed incomes. Also be aware of all the hidden fees that they don’t tell you about and just add to your monthly bill.

The cost has gone up and not the service. I am forced to pay for a two person assist due to my mom's recent fall, but they are not always staffed sufficiently to provide it. Also the food quality has dropped significantly. I will say that the staff is very nice, but sometimes overwhelmed

Admission was not organized; ex. they notified us we needed to buy a bed 2 days, this was troublesome to arrange short-notice. We witnessed admit-documents were whited-out & reused, in front of us. Lacked hand-hygiene esp'lly communal areas. Caregivers are friendly when you approach them. Yet for a new resident, staff should be given more attn since needing to orient; mom said she would get lost & ask to toilet. We understand some "hiccups" to establish the routine would occur, but sorry to state, not like this; we are disappointed. Friend visited & felt the same.

It is a very nice facility. When I took the tour. They said that they can handle all of the needs that my loved one needed. Turns out they couldn't. They wouldn't even help them get out of bed to go eat. So they would bring food to them which cost me a fee each time they did that. For assisted living they do not have any certified nurses. They have the nurse title but don't know anything about being a nurse. They could not care for my loved ones medical needs.

It was under construction at the time of the tour. Very old building. It had a sad feeling to it. It didn't seem like a great independent living situation.

The community seems to be a little on the worn down side. The kitchen staff walked out on the entire community, and this left the residents and management in a pinch. All the food being served to the residents in their room are loaded with sodium.

I wouldn't put my loved one here. My loved one was neglected. I feel they are using the pandemic as an excuse on the way they are treating the residents. The communication isn't what it should be with the families. If you don't love what you do, find another job. Honor you father and mother so your days will be long. We should be advocates for our loved ones, especially when they've taken care of us all our lives.

The community is usually clean. The staff is friendly. We looked at several senior living communities. We didn't like any of the places we saw until we saw Pacifica. It was homey, in a great area, and a smaller community, which we liked. Two weeks before my mother was supposed to move in, they had us switch her to memory care where the rooms were much smaller and she had to share a bathroom, which we did not like. We went and visited later after my mother moved in and saw the residents sitting and watching TV, which had very violent programming on, which is not what we felt was adequate care. We never saw any "dementia" program in place and we felt even if there was, it was not necessary as for my mother's care. We felt we were paying significantly more a month for care that was not appropriate for my mother. After we decided to move my mother out, it took a long process to get her community fee back since she was there for less than a few months. Eventually we were able to get it resolved, however, the whole thing left a sour taste in our mouths.

This facility was very clean but they charge for the room and additional fees for each service that our Mother would require. So after the price of $2,800 for the room, there would an additional cost added of $2,400. That's almost double. They also don't have a nurse to give insulin shots.

We were very disappointed with the Meridian staff. [Name removed] was very nice and knowledgeable about the community and the tour was fine. We scheduled to have lunch and that was a mistake. [Name removed] took us to a private dining room and said she would be back to talk to us, but she never came back. A nice man from the kitchen came in to see what we wanted to drink and we chose water and lemonade. The water was typical Riverside water (not good) and then we waited for the meal. The room was hot and we were left alone. Lunch finally came and the food was very disappointing. Dry turkey, dry stuffing and overcooked zucchini. My wife went to the kitchen and asked for gravy, and a nice lady from the kitchen brought beef gravy. The stuffing was salty and then the gravy was even more salty. I would rate that meal a 1 on a 1-10 scale. We finished the meal and then a nice man came in (can't remember his name) - he is the concierge there. We talked for a bit and then we left. We honestly couldn't wait to leave and wish we wouldn't have opted to have lunch. The other communities we have visited all have meal options and when we asked about that we were told there are no other options. This was just a bad experience and there's no way I would want my mom to live here.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my loved one. This community is just depressing and smelled really bad. The overall feeling is like a nursing home and I didn’t like it. While on the tour, we were rushed through everything. I’m sure they were knowledgeable but they didn’t give me enough time to ask questions. To me, it looked like they didn’t have enough staff. I would not recommend this facility.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Father. The building itself looked wonderful and the staff seemed very responsive. The residents all looked happy and the food looked great. However, the maintenance needed some help. There was broken wood on the railings and the handrails in the showers were just towel bars bolted to the wall. I was really concerned that if my dad moved in, he would get really hurt. I would not recommend this facility to other families.

My loved one is here currently. It’s been a little rocky and I’m not sure if it’s the right fit for them. It seems like there isn’t enough staff on hand but for the most part, it seems like they’re easy to communicate with. However, my loved one has had a few falls since being there. My biggest concern right now is that they wear the life alert necklace and whenever they press the button, there have been times where it has taken an hour before the staff has come to check on my loved one. They are supposed to check on the residents every 20 minutes and from what I’ve seen, that’s not been happening. The facility seems to be okay cleanliness wise. My loved one is on a schedule to have their room cleaned once a week, on Saturdays, but when I’ve been in there the very next day it doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned or even touched. I’m not sure what’s going on there but other than that the building itself seems to be clean. I have an issue with the people that do the laundry though. They aren’t paying attention or sorting the clothes the right way and that’s causing some colors to bleed into others, white shirts turning pink, etc. The food is another issue, which was a big deal because my loved one is vegetarian. When we went for the tour, they prepared a nice meal for my loved one to sample and it was fine. But ever since then, it’s been difficult for them to follow through with that. I think we’ll be looking for a different community.

Initially, when you go out there and talk with the people that run the community about moving someone in there, they’re very agreeable and willing to meet with you. But once you start deciding to move someone in, the miscommunication drops off immensely. An incident took place recently after my loved one moved in. He wound up in the hospital and the facility didn’t contact me for a couple of days. I only found out because I received a call from the doctor at the hospital. They were at least straightforward to me about the fact that he would require specific care after leaving the hospital and that they would not be able to provide that care. He’s wound up having to stay in the hospital longer than what was needed. When I’m there, everything looks clean. My loved one thinks the food is fine, though it doesn’t look terribly delicious to me. They have a few activities to participate in. In the main dining room, they have social clubs that I’ve seen people in. There were a couple of reasons why I chose this place, but it boiled down to the fact that there was availability and the cost was reasonable.
