I have personally toured this community and have had at least three of my previous in home care clients move into Heritage Oaks. I enjoy stopping by to visit with my previous clients to check on them and find the staff at Heritage Oaks so genuine in all they do for their residents. If you are looking for Assisted or Memory Care...stop by Heritage Oaks and see what makes them different!

I have toured several communities, and Heritage Oaks is my favorite, by far. I think it is the most beautiful facility I've ever seen, both inside and out. The front porch and landscaping are very nice to come home to and I love the grand, open living room as soon as you walk in. The sales director that showed us around was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, not only in her community, but in all aspects of senior living. This is first on our list for my Mom's home away from home.

My mom was so happy here. She made lots of wonderful friends.

I highly recommend it here. My community is very loving and caring. We have many various activities including going out for the symphony and many performers come in and entertain us (and out to lunch). Our minds are challenged with Trivia and our bodies are nourished with healthy food. The average ages are well in the 80's-90's - 2 people will become 100 in Dec 2019 and Jan 2020. We have people in their 60's and 70's too.

When you first move into a retirement home, in our case the Prairie Rose, you are a stranger. You are hesitant about what to expect, what the rules are both official and unofficial. At mealtimes, when everyone takes a seat, where do you sit? The staff helps with that but to be honest, it will take some time. It is a lot like moving into a new neighborhood except it is in a more confined environment where you associate with other residents daily. At the Prairie Rose we have found the staff and majority of residents go out of their way to make new people welcome, so much so it seemed a little overwhelming in the beginning. Be assured the “newbie feeling” will go away quickly. You will find, in a short period of time the staff become “friends” and the residents, for lack of a better phrase, a “kinship group.”

I enjoy living at Alamo Ranch. The services offered are appreciated including weekly housekeeping My current housekeeper [name removed] is very accommodating and does a good job.

[Name removed] and the ladies did a great job at getting our parents to feel comfortable with the idea of moving in to the Renaissance. They took the time to provide two tours over a few weeks time, never once trying to pressure our parents, they invited them to eat in the dining room and made sure they met other people who live in the community there. Since they have moved in, they are encouraged to participate in the activities, treated as part of the community, and feel a welcomed part of the place. The great call system (emergency call system) is fantastic, it works if they fall, get lost, or can't be found. So far they have not needed to use them, but it is a piece of mind for the family to know there is such great protection for them. The staff treats all of us as if we are part of the bigger family and we always feel welcome there when we stop by.

Was glad mom and dad found a place they love and the ppl are so nice

Since the first visit 4.5 months ago with [name removed] we knew this was where out Mother should move to. Our Mother was also extremely pleased during her visit and excited to move. Since that time I can say my Mother in law, my wife, and myself have been welcomed with open arms by all the management, staff, and residents. Our Mother has thrived and recommends the Reniassance to all her friends. One has already moved in. The food is very good, clean eating area, and the servers are very polite. If your looking for a place where your family member can thrive and enjoy theirselves this is the place for them.

Heritage Oaks is a nice size and feels homey. It is not overwhelming for an older person to move in. The staff is all super sweet and nice even when no one is watching. They all give a very strong effort and genuinely care about the residents. They are nice about accommodating questions and working with the family. The food is good. The residents seem happy to be there. My mother in law has really enjoyed it. She had a good transition from living alone and driving to Heritage Oaks and a lot of credit for that goes to the exceptional team at Heritage Oaks. We were pressured to quickly find a place for her and Heritage Oaks worked quickly to accommodate us. We feel very fortunate to have landed there. The other residents have also been very friendly and welcoming.

I can’t speak for other retirement homes, but I can for Prairie Rose. A few days ago, my wife was exercising by walking the hallways. She lost her balance and fell, hitting her head on an open door. Head wounds bleed profusely, add blood thinner medication and she was in a very serious situation. The Prairie Rose maintenance man who was nearby heard her fall and came to investigate. He immediately started working on stopping blood loss and continued to work until medics arrived. One of the home health service people, who have an office in Prairie Rose, was also in the area. She came to get me and called 911. Within a few minutes, the assistant manager and another home health care person were there helping. Because the Prairie Rose staff and home health care people knew how to handle the emergency, my wife will be coming home in a couple of days with a few stitches instead of facing a more serious life-threatening situation. I don’t have a magic wand which will tell you if other retirement homes have that type personnel. I can tell you; here at Prairie Rose, my family no longer has that worry.

I give this place a 5. The tour was helpful and the person giving the tour took time to answer all of my questions. It was great to see all of the floor options available as many other places did not have all the options. The courtyard was beautiful and big enough to get exercise or just sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

My grandfather is currently living at this assisted living and he enjoys it. [Name removed] has been so kind to him. When he was sick in the hospital she went on her time off to visit him several times. We appreciate all that she does! Anytime I have questions I can ask her anytime of the day.

We toured 20+ senior facilities. We were dissapointed. We toured Heritage Oaks and found it friendly, caring and the residences were happy to be there. Mom and Dad approved and are excited to be there.

We are beginning our 3rd week at Heritage Oaks. The Assisted Living residents are actively engaged everywhere I see them. At times the hallways are so full of residents that one has to step aside! And that, in my opinion, is an extremely good thing! Food is good, and I love the turtle sanctuary. The staff has been welcoming and anxious to meet our very high standard of care, cleanliness and kindness that we had come to expect from our previous residency.

We moved into our two bedroom apartment in December 2017. We needed a place that would make life easier for us -- the 3-bedroom home we had was becoming more than we could handle alone. From the first the staff surprised us. We have a small dog who really thought we moved so she could be with more people, but the staff treats her like a resident too. This is because they care about how WE feel, what OUR needs are, and how can they best meet those needs. In our fifty years together, this is the best move we have ever made. The residents have become like family to us. Everyone gets along well together. Everyone respects the views of the other residents (at least all of the ones we have met and interacted with). AND there is lots of opportunity to meet and talk, in the Dining Room, in the Halls, at the Dog Park, along the sidewalks throughout the complex, and on the veranda or in the Courtyards of the Apartment Complex. Activities are planned often around the requests of the resident(s). It is our belief that we have made our last move and to a place that is most wonderful for and to us.

Big thank you to Rio Terra and their entire staff for such great service, cleanliness and honesty for my parents. We can’t be more happy with all they do for each of us in the family. So much care and sincerity!

Rio Terra has been and continues to be an amazing opportunity for my mom to live in an atmosphere of wonderful residents and staff. She is content, busy and quite happy. I am so thankful to have found Rio Terra for her. The staff truly care about every single resident every single day.
