I toured this community for my loved one and her needs. My tour well, and everyone was very kind and courteous. The community looked clean, and neat. The staff was kind and friendly. It was a pleasant experience, and this is a nice community. It just wasn't the one for us.

I don't have much to compare the Stratford to, as this is the 1st memory care unit my parent was placed in. It is very expensive considering the services provided. The meals are ok.. the engagement by the staff is minimal, there does not seem to be enough staff based on the monthly costs. Clothing comes up missing.. bedding come up missing. I think the people that work there care and do their best. But they are spread a bit thin. The off the menu option has never been offered, and the flexible meal times has not been offered even if the family is there for a visit, the visit is interrupted and meal is served. some of the residents sit for hours staring off and there is no engagement from staff, the staff is over worked. But it is clean and I feel my parent is safe there, and that means a lot.

If you're on respite, I don't think it's going to work out. They elevated the bed too high. If I was able to have seen the furniture situation beforehand, my mom would not have stayed here. Needless to say, I'm not enamored.

This is a good facility for Independent living. The staff is very friendly, the food is good, the common areas are clean, and there are lots of activities. However this is not the place for people to go if they need assistance. We have had several issues that haven't been resolved in over a year concerning special dietary needs and hygiene for my parents who need assistance. The staff has been very pleasant and agreed that the issues need to be corrected based on my parents contract, care plan and doctor's orders but they are ineffective getting the job done. I don't know whether it's because the staff is untrained, or whether they are understaffed, or maybe the staff is not supervised well.

The independent living units were 2-story units above the garages. I am trying to decrease the number of stairs and this would actually add an additional set of stairs. Unless my needs/desires change this would not be appropriate.

Not enough activities on campus. Senior center is down the block but would be difficult for my husband to get there without help

Consider that they do have activities that your loved one will want to do. Make sure your loved one is really at the assisted living level before picking a community. The food was okay. There has always been enough parking.

We played phone tag a couple times over maybe five days. I had decided on Heritage by the time we spoke. Sarah was very gracious and passed on useful information to me.

A few of the caregivers could use some more training. For the most part the caregivers are pretty awesome. The food is great. I like the memory care side it looks and feels like a home. They really do look at residents as individuals instead of stages of a disease, and seem willing to accommodate based on specific circumstances.

not sure about the neighborhood - safety wise for my mom and for family members visiting

Not nearly as nice as Crown Point. This place has much smaller apt. and is not updated. Has a side yard that deer will walk through. Dad would like that!

Really basic facility.

Large bedroom type. No cooking.

Offer apartments and assisted living cottages.

This has good possibilities and offers different levels of care.

Strange layout, very open like a giant cafeteria

This place promises much but isn't able to deliver. The Lodge does have a great assortment of activities throughout the day but it stops early. My parent is not one to go to bed at 6 or 7 pm but the place is shut down and quiet. They will ask the residents to join in a time or two but are not diligent or encouraging. My parent is left sitting in their room a majority of the day. I've been there when activities are going on but no one stops by to invite them. The food is adequate but portions are small for those with healthy appetites. The office staff and caregivers are very friendly (when you seek them out) and helpful but the follow-through is lacking. We have yet to see anything related to housekeeping other than changing sheets. We are looking for other facilities.

There are a lot of cleaning restrictions at Chateau Brickyard. You have to be sure all of your belongings are put away for them to clean thoroughly. I am uncomfortable with cleaning staff being in my room while I am gone. The staff really cares about the residents here. My biggest concern is the food. It is awful.

Spouse was only there for 2 weeks so I don’t really feel I had enough time to say. He did not eat or any activity he fell out of his wheelchair then went to hospital the next day he was not right but to be fair this was not his first nursing home he passed way shortly after !

Poor lighting inside my mother in law room. Fecal was smeared on a leather chair outside her door and it took a week before they cleaned it up, although I reported it immediately. Some of nursing staff more interested in there phone than caring for residents. Some staff differently there should not be caring for people.
