No Heart or Soul but got look's.

I just wanted to warn people about the Emerald Oaks Retirement Resort Community. If you want looks, with no soul this is your place. My Mother was a founding member when they first opened. New and modern was important to her. As time rolled on, she found out this organization rotates managers in and out all the time. The facility had 6 -8 different sets of managers during her 2.5 years living there. Some really good and some very poor. She was also starting to complain about the food service. The quality was poor and food was cold. She was talking about moving to the Franklin, where a lot of members, and friends had already relocated to. She had a fall in her Apt. and that was that. So I am warning all! This is a business, they want your money and that is it. No Heart, No Soul. No Caring!!

property is lovely. The food needs to improve. Most days not even fresh fruit. Church service was promised and is not happening. Was scheduled at first but attendance was low. Most people had not even moved in yet. They need to give it a chance. Staff is very friendly except one grump which everyone knows who that is. Hopefully food will improve and more activities scheduled and not cancellation.

Issues

My love one has lived a private crossing for over two years. Although the building is lovely and well appointed as are the apartments the facility is billed as a non-smoking property which in fact it is not. Also the food is less then palatable and in my opinion lacking in overall quality. Meals are served buffet style not served to your table. This property has a history of management turnover which I think is lacking for the continuity of the overall quality of this facility. New managers are on board and promising to make the food better etc. this is a very pricey community I would love to see my loved one move to a better price facility with better food and no smoking

Beautiful place BUT ……..

I have been at the Square for less than a year. It is a beautiful place with a fitness center, beauty shop, lounge, and bank on site. However, looks can be deceiving. Initially it was a great place. Since then, I have experienced 3 different sets of managers, numerous support staff turnovers in housekeeping, dining services and maintenance. I love some of the staff here but managers leave a lot to be desired. I went from feeling at home to feeling like I was living in a dictatorship. There are limitations placed on residents which quite frankly have made my life uncomfortable here. It is VERY expensive to live here and I no longer feel I am getting the value or quality of life for the money I pay. I would caution anyone considering the Square to really think about it before signing on the dotted line. It truly isn’t worth it. Several residents feel the same way and have given notice of leaving the Square.

What may look ok;will change

High employee turnover;and staffing shortages.Rented the most expensive unit;on end of bldg, with large empty lot next door. That lot was sold by owners;before we arrived;but we were not informed.Soon there was a strip mall;and Mcdonalds;with all the dust and noise;for months. Now the entrance became a roadway for locals to get to strip mall;often at high speeds..Finally fencing it off,but really over a year too late to keep us there

Promised But Not Received

I would not recommend Shell Harbor to anyone. We were sold a bill of goods that hasn't been delivered upon, as it was advertised as a resort style living, and it definitely is not. We were told that we would fine dining service and food, and we are getting cafeteria food instead. The food is below par, as it is made for residents that are 55 plus with medical needs and dietary restrictions. We are seeing people leaving as it wasn't what was promised to them. The rent is been raised [removed]%. The new resident managers are very young, and they are doing the best they can do. They are very kind, friendly, and nice. Their hands are tied by RLC in making any changes.

Disappointed

Had an issue with the waitlist standby process for different type of room. Did NOT happen the way it was explained to us multiple times. They just recently added an additional trash can in each area so the cans don't overflow onto the floors. The food is NEVER hot...barely even room temperature. Complaints made and they either can't or won't fix the problem

Extremely Disappointing

The direct staff interactions are great. The managers are not as pleasing to work with. My loved ones are moving out of the community. Everything was good, food was very good at the start of their saving. My loved ones were promised room service 24/7 and this isn't been done. Due to COVID the community is blaming the fact they can't do certain follow through. The food is horrible at the community, except on Sunday when they have a prime rib buffet. I've made complaints and nothing is ever done with this by management.

Not a good place if you are elderly - Seriously!

If you are elderly and have any ailments or plan to grow older DO NOT go here. Maybe it was once a compassionate and well run place but not since the new manager came in. It gradually declined and has continued to do so. Many of the staff have left (those that were professional).

They need some improvement!!

My loved one is doing well since her move to Savannah Pines. I think that when new residents move in, the walls of the apartment should be painted if they have flaws. Also, most of the woodwork is chipped. The meals are very good my loved one is pleased with them. For a while. the dishes were kind of dirty but enough residents brought up the problem so they seem to be improving, My loved one enjoys the activities and other people living there.

Don't Believe Them

We were residents at PC for two years = at which time the home office, Resort Lifestyle Communities, hired a live-in couple as managers. Both husband and wife were heavy smokers. Our lease which stated it was a non-smoking community was totally ignored, and the managers kept smoking in their apartment. Due to my oxygen use and other medical conditions, we were forced to move. These people present themselves as pious, caring, loving people- both locally and at the headquarters level. Take it with a grain of salt! It doesn't matter what your lease says, they will do what they please.

Renter Beware - do place loved ones in Huntley Springs

Do not put a loved one in this place - Resort?? Hardly. There has been a major change in staff over the last few weeks. The manager is gone, the chef is gone, the housekeepers are gone, as well as the arrows for social distancing! There has not been a maid service for over 2 weeks. Residents are sleeping on the same sheets and are unable to clean their bathrooms. This "resort" is over 4K a month. They should be ashamed of themselves, this is bordering on elder abuse. There is a reason we go into an "resort", we want to enjoy the time remaining and dearly need the services offered - Items on the menu are missing, maybe they went out with the caring staff that were all let go. Do not let anyone move in until services are restored.

Review for Red Rock Pointe Retirement Community

Overall experience: less than 1 Corporate assistance is derogatory. All problems from day one revolved around the issues of lack of support in the field. Day one: computer system was down and after signing on line copy was not available. Requested change of selected apartment but, of course, system was down. "Call back Monday" Monday; representative from Saturday ( day 1) was not available. She was just filling in because assigned manager was out. She would call back upon her return. Thursday: assigned employee was back From "vacation" and would look Into Making changes as requested on dayn1 and get back to me. Numerous calls resulted in no result. Three weeks latter as we reached the move-in date, nothing had been done. The contract had not been changed to reflect our desire to rent another apartment and to replace contract detail. Three days prior to move in date: Agreement to remove carpeting in selected apartment was not done. Notice to cancel agreement due to Poor management and refusal to accept verbal agreements left me with the only decision, to cancel. Contract originally signed reflected deposit (which was paid) to be released to RLC. I questioned this because I had never moved in and therefore, was not a resident. However, because I had accepted their invitation to lunch while waiting from computer issues to Be corrected, corporate representative considered That a "move in". Corporation refused to refund the deposit portion included with my advance payment for the rental. Manager from Red Rock Pointe had resigned. There was no One at location who Could or would change the corporate decision to retain the "resident's" Deposit. However could I have been a resident when the apartment was never made available? The response was that it was my fault since I had asked for a change on day 1, I hope this explains my feelings about this rental . I have since found a more desirable home. Thank you for your concern but I cannot refer anybody to use this method of finding an apartment...
