Clean and bright. Mom liked the GE appliances in the kitchen. Security and safety measures were good. Were shown an apartment on the first floor. Mom thought it was cold. They are going to see one on the second floor on Saturday. Liked the lack of "community fee" and that only the first month's rent was needed to move in. Dad liked the 3 meals a day and the anytime dining. Mom was interested in the ongoing puzzle and the book club.

Stone River seems to have thought of everything, from the color scheme, building design, capable staff ([name removed] was a great tour guide; friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating), dining options, activities, various rooms for family, movie theater and so much more.

We loved everything about this community and have sent info and videos to Ann. It is like a cruise ship and could not believe the amenities. We are waiting for Ann to make the final decision. Thank You [Name removed]

Very Nice. Has everything you could want. Especially like that you can stay in the same room through all stages.

Upscale community with good amenities and activities to fit my Mom’s needs. Liked the fact that Management lives in the facility. Well kept and lots of food options. Limited number of small apartments. Apartments are well appointed with full kitchens and washer/dryers.

Outstanding! The management team of [name removed] and [name removed] provide a very positive and upbeat experience. Other staff members follow their example. Residents are friendly and seem happy to be there. Although most residents are in the eighty and ninety year range, they are very interesting people. Some are younger of course, but energy level very high. Activities are plentiful and seem well attended. Apartment at 750 square feet seemed very small at first until I moved in, now seems very adequate. Closet is great. Food is good and much variety.

We met with [name removed], who reached out and was very helpful, but after a short conversation we learned that we can not use this facility with a long term care insurance policy.

This is where mom lives now. We are looking as she appears to be drifting towards a need for a higher level of continuing care. CO is a great facility, much more reasonable than Walton Woods, even with the add on's we currently have and for a much better accommodation (2 BR vs 1 BR at Walton Wood), though mom doesn't need a 2 BR and we are trying to get her into a 1 BR. We need to have someone constantly encouraging mom to get out and do things. CO is independent living, not assisted living, and while we can add services from outfits like Right at Home, they aren't wiling to be firmer with mom. 2BR runs about $4.5K/month.

My husband and I love Emerald Oaks. The staff is first rate being so helpful to all showing kindness and always available to help. There are many activities provided that we may participate in as well as entertainment to enjoy. We have some great Chefs and serving personnel. In a few words a great place to Iive.

Beautiful place

Emerald Oaks is a beautiful, friendly and happy place. The staff is helpful and go out of their way to find answers and resolve problems. What I like is how quiet it is.

We met with [name removed] and was greeted very nice. The tour she gave us was very informative. All our questions were answered to our satisfaction.

Excellent community and tour

Even though very expensive, just about every need was provided for. The dining room and eating places were outstanding. For my daughter's benefit, I liked the idea of an onsite concierge and a health center. [Name removed] was delightful and friendly and the community layout was beautiful, including the art and decorations. Loved the fish pond. My tour of the apartment was exciting, with a perfect size that I could organize to continue my work as a writer. On the down side, the expenses of registering, community fees, pet deposit, was extremely high just to move in. I don't know if [name removed] toured, but his comments when I showed the place were negative because of the high cost. Of course, he's more concerned with his daughter's future needs if I'm not around and I think my views fell on deaf ears. He has another place in mind nearer his residence, but I'm completely sold about living in the Katy area close to my church and friends. I'm still sold on that community, but [name removed] and me have discussed the cost and I agree it's out of our budget range. Nevertheless, I'm willing to select a smaller apartment as long as we can have 2 bedrooms. One bath without a balcony is okay. I'll be calling [name removed] next week. After another conference with [name removed] and his own tour and discussion with [name removed], he's urging us to select this community and I'm still okay with that. I will schedule another tour (hopefully for this [date removed]), so my daughter can see it.

Very nice; little open space surrounding, great amenities, monitoring available. Good kitchens, no pool that I saw. Small bathrooms, garage available for additional fee. Did not ask about near by storage. Staff friendly and professional. Great meal areas. Very clean and well maintained. Beautiful common areas. Should definitely be considered.

We met with [name removed] and toured the facility. We are very impressed with the place and [name removed]. She introduced us to the live in Managers. She is an accomplished pro and met all our needs and communicated so well. We have followed up to spend the night this weekend and eat brunch on Sunday. We are moving along with all of other requirements, but the stress of it has slowed up down. We will be in touch later.

Red Hills Village is new and we moved mom there as a charter member. Being new, naturally it's very clean and the staff are new to their positions. Mom has lived in independent living facilities for 15 years and has experienced two other places before moving to Red Hills. (moved from Tampa Bay to Tallahassee) Both previous places were very good and comparably priced, but Red Hills is superior in several aspects. The food at Red Hills is fantastic. They offer three meals a day and fruit, ice cream, and sandwiches 24 hours a day. Meals can be delivered to your apartment at no additional cost. Other places usually charge for this service. The lobby area, called Main Street, has a bank, post office, general store, pharmacy, arcade, movie theater, and beauty salon. This is very useful to my 93 year old mother. She can get almost anything she needs without having to leave the building. Finally, the staff is outstanding. The managers hired only people with happy dispositions. Everyone is up and helps to make the overall experience wonderful. The chef knows mom's preferences and always makes her dining experience positive. Red Hills has made her move a very positive experience. She loves her new home and everyone she has met.

I toured 5 different places and took my parents to 4 of them. This was the place they chose. It offered everything they wanted.
