A Place for Mom has rated this facility at a 9.0 That must be an old rating when [name removed] was the Executive Director First hand experience- Residents laying in urine soaked bed, bruises from falls due to lack of supervision, filthy hallway carpets that are freshened up with Carpet Fresh Filthy floors in rooms, moldy shower mats, sun par meals, and worse of all, bringing in temp agencies to care for residents with minimal training and supervision Hoping things get back to a place that deserves a 9.0 rating..right now sitting at about a 3

We have major care issues and have involved the OH dept of health . Admin has no answers ever , and now they have had a patient escape out onto the busy road and a passerby returned the patient.

The nursing aide staff actually refused to change my husbands depends and tend to his care I had to pay for private nursing care 24/7 when he was there - in addition to their monthly rate. I should sue. That is basically immoral. They knew nothing about proper Alzheimer's care. I couldn't wait to get him out of there.

To call it a skilled nursing center is and overstatement there’s nothing skilled about this place. My mother was transported over for rehab from NCH hospital. Day one they did not have her on a diabetic diet that she has been on forever. They had her on a high carb diet. They could not get her medication‘s right they didn’t follow the notes from the doctor in the hospital, they were giving my mother medicine that she hasn’t been on in months. They weren’t giving her the correct doses of anything that we spent two weeks in the hospital to get her stabilized. I repeatedly told them they were not doing the right thing to which no one wanted to own up to responsibility . And the attitude at the nurses station is unreal. It’s not my problem type of situation every single time then if you would like to discuss how dirty this place is my mother’s room was filthy. I looked over in the corner today and saw mold growing in the ceiling. We are taking her out of this facility in the morning

It's absolutely terrible. The cost has increased $[removed]. They always have an issue with bedbugs and cannot seem to get them under control. They are severely short staffed. I would never ever ever recommend it to anyone.

My grandfather has been a resident for two months, in those two months he has fallen 14 times Two times his daughter came to visit at 10:30am only to find him still in bed, calling for help, he hadn’t had his breakfast, didn’t get his morning medicine and he was covered in his own waste When you voice your concerns to the staff they laugh it off and tell you that “he has dementia you know.” I’ve heard the nurses referring to the residents, someone’s beloved family member as the walking dead. He was physically assaulted by a nurse because he asked her to be let back in to his room and she was too busy. He has been hospitalized twice in the two months. The most recent incident left him with a fractured vertebrae in his spinal cord when an aid rolled him out of bed on to the floor. Arden tried to cover this up by saying he fell from his wheelchair. My grandfather went from someone who just needed a little extra help to get by to someone who is going to need 24/7 care the of his life

Read my Facebook, Yelp, and Google review about the Auberge at Cedar Park. I was able to write a lot more on those sites. The Auberge has poor care and high prices. Food is bad. Residents have no choice on meal. They get what is served. The activities at the Auberge are poor. The activity staff hate their jobs and it shows. Overall, the facility is dirty.

The facility is nice aesthetically. It is geared towards dementia patients. The nursing care is insufficient and below the standard. I don't want to put all the nursing care in this category because the aides were usually approachable and caring. One LPN was very good but the majority of the rest lacked in competency.

No communication between medical staff and caregivers, and our mom's medical needs were not met. Caregivers did only what they had to, staff did not notice when our mom had pain, they did not effectively treat bedsores, there was a lack of follow-up with doctors for medications and home health services. The daily flow just moved the residents from a common room to a dining room for meals, and then back. Activities were consistently focused on higher-functioning residents while lower functioning residents sat at a table alone without meaningful engagement. They boast 'dementia specialists', but we saw no interaction with residents that helped the resident 'live out their best life' as described to us when we first toured Arden. They told us that "they live in the resident's world", but all they did with our mom was to put her in a chair and leave her until she was moved for the next meal. We pulled our mom out after two months of reporting specific concerns without improvement.

He moved out in [date removed]. Dirty laundry in his dresser drawers, I had to do his laundry, I had to unclog his toilet and clean urine off his floor about every other day, very expensive for services received, none of providers that service the facility took his insurance. The nursing staff was very attentive and the executive director was making attempts to help the situation; at the time there was a lot of aide turnover.

This facility has gone down hill in the year and a half since my dad moved in. The new ED is terrible and never returned any of my phone calls. Same goes for the new nurse there. As a matter of fact Frontier management has not returned my call as well. I notice that the Auberge or Owner, only responds to the positive reviews and never says anything about n negative reviews.

My loved one was previously a resident at Arden Courts and the experience was terrible. They had different people working there each week and most were lazy. They stopped giving my loved one his insulin, which resulted in an ER visit and other complications. I would not recommend this facility to others.

Terrible management turnover. 4 managers is just over a year, each one less qualified than the one before them. Beautifully laid out facility but understaffed as well as having a group of caregivers with no compassion. There is a dangerous level of lack of supervision. My mother suffered fall after fall as a result. Her room and bathroom were not kept clean, nor was my mother kept clean until hospice got onboard. The food was standard institution fair , not even served warm. The director, who was present on the day my mother died, never left her office to greet me offer condolences. Don’t put a love one in this “warehouse”.

1 on all except the activities. However we took my dad out of the Arden courts community and I would not recommend at all !!!

The numbers say it all.

Our family felt the communication and professionalism was lacking tremendously . Needs Improvement. Meals were just ok . Witnessed employees engaging in heated discussions in front of visitors . Just not what families want to see or hear . Activities not really directed for someone with more advanced memory disease. Hope this helps someone who is looking .

They have a bad turnover of staff residents are not getting proper care. Management are not handling the problems as far as resident care. Caregivers are not very friendly get mad when you ask for help with loved ones. Do not recommend this facility.

Based on the experience we have had so far with Arden Courts, we can say that the facility would need to monitor the activities of the residents more closely in order to make it a better improvement/experience

If I could give a zero I would. Nothing we were promised actually happened. My father was only in Arden of Allentown 12 days. We never got a copy of our contract or receipt for the initial payment although I asked multiple times. We were told that someone would have eyes on him every 15 minutes around the clock and it would be documented - that did not happen. Numerous times we found other residents in his room, included one who was sound asleep in his bed. Also we were informed that a female resident was found in his room and was touching him in a sexual manner. We did not receive a phone call but found out when we arrived to visit. On our last visit we found him in a common area with about 10 other residents in front of a tv and anytime anyone got up to leave a staff member guided them back to their seat and then gave them a snack. On one occasion we saw my father had a large bruise on the inside of his upper arm that ran from his armpit area almost to his elbow. We showed it to the nurse and asked what happened. She acted surprised to see it and asked my father if he fell or what happened. #1 this is a memory care. Why would you think he would remember? # 2. The bruise was on the inside of his arm. How would that happen in a fall. It looked like someone grabbed his arm. #3 Why wasn't it documented? It obviously was not fresh at least a day or 2 old. If they are helping him dress and bath someone should have documented it.

Our experience was stressful . We feel the staff could use more training on the disease and proper ways to speak to the patients and families . Communication from management was poor . We expected more.
