Overall experience rating - this is because my mom is used to being at home with me and is embarrassed by her incontinence. She said everyone was very nice but she wouldn't come out of her room and just wanted to come home. My overall experience was a 5 since I had peace of mind that she was being taken care of while we were away. Meals and dining rating - again, she is used to my cooking and did not care for the food there. However, she is very picky so it's not the fault of the facility. She was only there for 4 days and did not participate in any activities. We had to pay for 14 days even though she was only there for 4 days. Again, not the fault of the facility as they were the only facility that offered 14 day respite care instead of a full month. I was just grateful she had somewhere to go while we attended my son's wedding.

We toured Sky Active Cherry Laurel when searching for an Independent Living facility. This facility was depressing. The food was unappealing. The Marketing man was very nice and I liked the Studios, but the resident population was unenthusiastic about the place. The overall impression was dismal.

The residents and the staff are friendly and helpful at this facility. The accommodations are adequate. Everything else could use improvement, especially the meals and dining. They seem to VERY short in all staffing areas at this facility. I had planned to stay here 'forever', but have decided to keep looking around at other facilities in this part of the state.

I have cockroaches and I have spoken with many other residents and they have them as well. The community is nice but old - it needs new carpet, roofing, painting, furnishings, etc. The food needs a lot of improvement - the meals are all over the place, most of the time it is served cold. What goes on the menu just does not make sense when you are ready to order. They also could work on the cost of living here.

Tried to talk to Abministration twice never got a return call when I left messages. Tired of listening to my loved one's complaints..'

I felt no warmth from Atria Hearthstone. It was a pretty facility, but from the front desk staff to the person who gave me the tour, I just did not feel any personal interest in my husband and I as anything more than someone to fill a room and bring in some money. It felt cold and sterile.

My Mother currently lives in this community. And the food is a joke!! If you want for your family members to be able to get nutrition do not let them stay here!! I don’t understand why people complain and you still can’t actually hire a cook!! Someone who knows how not to burn things drain grease off food and cook vegetables and meat so they aren’t hard as rock!! If you manage to cut the meat they serve? Chewing it will be an even bigger task! They went on and on about their meals are sooo wonderful!! Not!!!

Out of all of the facilities that we toured, Brookdale Jensen Beach was our least favorite. It just did not seem like the staff were as involved with the residents and the facility itself was not as clean as others.

So far, there has been two medication errors. The staff is fine. The communication from the facility is extremely poor. When issues do arise, there is no sense of communication between the facility and family. For the amount of money, the acitivity levels for memory care is poor. My loved ones housekeeping of the room, and restocking toliet paper is poor. Any issues That you have, there is no sense of teamwork. The administration is very poor. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

There are no nurses on staff and I felt like anyone could walk right in to the community. One of the memory care rooms had a unpleasant smell to it.

It is clean there. But people are just sitting around in wheelchairs, so it's a pretty depressing atmosphere. The staff are good, but there just aren't enough of them so they can't be as attentive. The food was terrible - that was the worst part. My loved one is mentally acute but just needed some physical assistance for a respite stay, which we cut short due to a family emergency. And they would not refund the final week we had paid for but did not utilize. They do have mass there, which he enjoyed. And they also let his outside physical therapists come in, which was good for him. They were also were able to transport him to a doctor appointment, which was helpful.

It's a scam. Everything they said they would do to get you in here. Nothing has happened for my loved one. They are supposed to clean weekly, they don't. The bedding is supposed to be changed weekly, it's not. The food is terrible. My loved one has to cook in his room or eat out because the food is so bad. You better know what questions to ask in the beginning. I am really disappointed in this whole place.

I would say do not go to this community unless you can fit into the mold that they want you to fit into. For sure do not go if you have anytime of service animal. They have activities like themed holiday celebrations, church services and more for the residents to do to stay busy. All the staff that work with the people and serve food are great it is just the office staff that are hard to deal with.

The communication is a big negative 5, they have horrible communication. They do not return any calls which is a huge deal with your trying to reach them in regards to your loved ones care. The relationship at the beginning was great but it was later just filled with empty promises. Nothing but a nightmare and just disappointed.

I would not recommend to go to this community. The problem is that they are short staffed and due to this the communication is poor. I know that currently this is something that everyone is dealing with. If they have activities also I think that they should go out and try to get the residents into it and to participate.
