I know she is safe & fed. No one ever seems to yell. Food is bland according to mom. There is serious lack of communication if we need someone/they don't follow through on things asked such as several days notice of dr. Appt and request to be sure mom showers before. She has always supposed to have a shower twice weekly bit even 1x/week has been hard to get. Laundry is often not done. She does not know to tell someone if she has an accident in bed & no one checks. The activities person seems to try. She is consistent. She asked for candy for Halloween & I emailed back an offer, requesting info if there was a certain kind or bagging preferred and 1 1/2 weeks later have heard nothing.

They don't do much for activities unless the nurses get them out of their rooms. They need to put more consideration towards memory care activity wise and helping get the people out of beds and getting them moving. For those that can't get out of bed, making sure they are still getting some sort of circulation for their body, and also getting some socialization and not just sitting in isolation.

There are many issues with payment and communication. I am still not getting receipts for my mom's monthly payment. I wasn't told there was a change in management. Haven't seen the facility myself. I feel like I can not answer that. My mom has had a complaint about her window. I don't know if it ever got fixed (or if she actually said something to someone. The staff are not easily reached. But when I have talked to them it's mostly friendly. Never had a "bad" conversation. She seems happy. I don't hear about her not getting along with anyone. She is eating well. Gained maybe more weight than she needs. There are plenty of activities. She just doesn't attend them. When I think of all that is available, she has gained some weight, has friends, attention church in the building. The price isn't bad.

Rockbrook Memory Care is a lovely facility, it's small and charming. However, they are very SHORT STAFFED and the kitchen staff is practically non-existent. The Caregivers usually double as the "Cook" for meals. When it's really bad, they get donuts or pizza for meals because there is NO COOK. We picked Rockbook Memory Care for our 91 year old Mother because it was clean and from all appearances, a very nice looking facility. But looks can be deceiving. Bottom-line, Rockbrook is a good value for the money, they were the most reasonably priced Memory Care facility we found. But sometimes, you get what you pay for too!

The facility consists of cottages. I think there are 5 or 6. The activities room is on the end. It can be quite a walk to get there if you don't live close. In the winter my husband does not participate. The food is generally ok but the portion sizes are small. My husband has lost quite a bit of weight since being there. The evening snacks offered are bags of chips put on the table in the living room about twice a week. When they are gone he has to wait a few days until they bring more. There is suppose to be a caregiver in each cottage at all times but this does not happen. He wears a monitor around his neck to push if he needs help but he is unable to get it to light up. When I have complained about this, they have said a lot of residents have problems with this. When I have turned it on for him, the wait has been 30 or more minutes. There are 12 residents per cottage. He is suppose to be getting 2 showers per week but this does not happen. He is incontinent so he often has sores from lack of changing. My husband is happy there and thinks everyone takes good care of him. I see him every day and take him snacks. I think it would upset him to move. All the rooms are private. He would not do well sharing a room.

What we like the most about Santa Maria Terrace is the Dementia and "with it" people are not separated. We would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

After taking my mother to see five or so facilities, she chose The Lexington Assisted Living. After a year, my mother still likes it there, because of the people. They have a new Director who is implementing some nice changes to the facility. I would recommend The Lexington Assisted Living to others.

Go some where else.They talked a good talk. They said they would treat him like he was their own father. But they did not.

I am currently a resident at Barber Station. I think I would recommend Barber Station Senior Living, with some caution. Communication with the family is somewhat limited. For instance: they didn't tell me that they don't have an accessible van. They only have a regular passenger car. Lots of the residents can't go anywhere.

Love love love [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed]. They are the heart of the caregiver staff. It would be a very qualified recommendation to other families. They're Extremely short staffed on the weekends. We have family with our Mom all day on the weekends. We have had several times when no caregiver has checked on her throughout the day.

Director of nursing is a lazy lying [word removed]. Clean place and not over crowded.

The staff is helpful and caring, but they are severely lacking in aides for the amount of residents that they have to keep an eye on. The cleaning staff does an excellent job keeping the apartments and dining room clean and I understand that it is more difficult for the staff to get the residents to participate in activities but unfortunately they do not have the resources to or help to make sure that all of the residents have something to do other than sit in their apartments and watch television or sit in the common room to sleep or watch television with whatever is on

I would like to say first that The Lexington is our only experience with assisted living care, so I have nothing to compare it to. The staff are very friendly and always try to be helpful. Sometimes my parents get the wrong laundry back, or items go missing for awhile, not often. I've learned to put their apt# or last name on their stuff. The med techs are very good and quick with communication for any problems or concerns. The food is okay. Some days the main meal is better than others, but they always have other options, like a burger or sandwich. My mom complains of not enough fresh fruit or veggies, so I bring them that from the store. The facility is older, but always clean. The workers are very sweet and helpful to my parents. As far as a recommendation, I would guess it is about as good as any. We chose The Lexington for it's proximity to my mom's friends and for the swimming pool. Unfortunately, the pool has remained closed the whole time.

Now since I know how villa court operates I wouldn't send nobody there and wouldn't recommend anyone. Their doors should be closed.

Cannon Creek they need to improve in cleanliness. In the patients rooms and showers. Helping the patients more with adl's and having things that they can do that their cognitive abilities. Canyon Creek needs more staff and training their employees. (Aides)

I think the community has a lot of amenities and the staff is very friendly and responsive. They are also flexible in tailoring a plan based on your needs concerning monitoring and food.We chose this community based on location and the condition of the property which was newer and had more recent updates compared to other places.

They promise you the moon but it's not that way. After you get in the place things are not as they seem. For the price it's not worth it.

Medical staff gave my grandfather a painkiller that was not prescribed to him instead of his medicine. They let him leave the facility and couldn't find him. Until someone called my mother from the 7/11 down the street. Overall I would still recommend Villa Court.

Well, they are under new management, and they are going through renovations right now, and they just raised all the prices for care and for rent. I take it they have to pay for the renovations with something. Why would it come out of their own pocket. The food is not good to put it mildly, they keep saying they're going to get a good chef, but many times they're using frozen food , no vegetables no fresh anything. If I wouldn't eat it, I don't want my mother eating it -she doesn't even go down to the dining room. I buy her groceries and bring them to her. [name removed] is their hair and nail technician- she's very friendly. They don't pay attention to detail very well. It takes a while for maintenance to get things fixed. Example my mothers blinds on her sliding glass window were damaged and they came in weeks later replaced them with lines that didn't even fit. They were like a foot too short, but left them there anyway.

The staff here was very caring, but there was a lot of turn over. Unfortunately, they were unresponsive to my mother if she used the pull cords in her room to request help. The food service was sorely lacking. The food was inadequate, and they didn't pay attention to her likes, dislikes, and nutritional needs. I once spoke to management about this and food service greatly improved, but only temporarily. They also did not keep on top of her medications. For example, after she returned to Deer Creek after a hospitalization, I went to the pharmacy and took her new meds to Deer Creek right away. I also gave Deer Creek them her discharge orders which included her new medications. Almost a week later she was still not being given her new meds because the "person who checks those in has been out". I ended up moving my mom to another assisted living community. I regret having placed her in Deer Creek. My understanding is they are under new management so maybe things have improved. But my mother's experience there was not good. I wish I had moved her out sooner.
