Staff know our dad and seem to care about him for the most part. Minimal turnover amongst caregivers, leadership has changed 3 times in 13 months. Kitchen staff and maintenance staff have also turned over. It's good for the value. Newest manager seems to be making positive changes.

Their memory care unit is new. It's a very nice facility and some of the staff are just outstanding. The big open space is ideal for the residents to gather, they eat family style, do group exercises. It is clear the residents are well cared for and content. We had a pretty rough start though. They did not have a formal orientation process, no binder, no checklist, no understanding of what dad was permitted, or not permitted, to have, how laundry service worked, no who to call when... The director has worked with me, and I hope listened regarding making the admissions process much smoother. He is very approachable. I have also communicated with him about the food choices and quality and have noticed improvement.

My family and loved one have had a wonderful experience with the community. The staff have all been great. They are helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. Everyone is friendly. There are meals and activities provided to the residents. Overall, we would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

My mother is currently a resident at California Mission Inn. The hardest part is the adjustment for my mother. She complains the most about the food, but everything else she seems really happy with considering she doesn't really want to be there. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends. They are very accommodating and supportive. They have been very flexible, too.

Overall experience was good until my loved one was forced to move because they increased rent. The facility always looks clean but the cleaning of the apartments was hit and miss mostly miss. My loved one's apartment wasn't cleaned the way I was told they would and they were under staffed for housekeeping. Everyone was always friendly. The care rate increased. The staff spent a lot of time on making sure the residents have a good time during special events. One of the staff members gave me the heads up on the place my loved one moved to. My loved one ate tv dinners a lot in their room because so often the community didn't have what my loved one liked and they cut corners on meals when food prices went up so high. My loved one didn't participate in everything because they are not normally a joiner, but what they did my loved one enjoyed. I thought the value for the money was good when my loved one moved in. But with the price increases and housekeeping issues it's certainly not as good. Even with the issues Desert View has my loved one wanted to stay because they made friends. However, when they wanted to downsize so the could stay the community said they had 15 people ahead of my loved one waiting to move in. I thought this was wrong.

The staff members were all very nice and attentive. The facility was definitely old and outdated, but was pretty clean. The apartment sizes at Desert Springs are plenty big.

It's a good sized community without being overwhelming.It's enjoyable but food choices aren't the best. I would recommend to other families.

We picked this community, because it fit my relative's budget. I would say the community liaison[name removed] is a great help. We were limited on time to get our relative situated and everyone was extremely helpful. I would recommend to other families. It's great for someone with a mid-range income. It's great quality for a reasonable price.

The facility is under staffed, but I hear this is the case at most facilities. The one thing I do not like is that the facility hours are business hours. I work. So if I want to visit my mom after work, it is very challenging to get staff to come and open the door for me. On the plus side, I feel that my mom is safe because strangers cannot get in. The Nurse Facilitator, [name removed], is overwhelmed but still manages to accommodate you as best as she can. She is personable and really cares - she always puts your loved ones first. She continues to hand pick excellent staff that do their best to meet my parents' needs. More positives: each room/apartment has ac/heating, cable, and the grounds are very lovely! A few more concerns: residents complain about the food; there is not enough staff to provide a variety of activities (but the facility is working on that); there are no off site field trips as was advertised to me; and the cable has gone out in their room many times.

Mom's neighbors have been very friendly to her. Mom likes the location of her independent cottage, especially since it is located, where she feels she has more privacy. And it is only about a few minutes from my house.

The facility itself needs some updating, which is ongoing. We liked the smaller environment. We looked at several other assisted living facilities and they just seemed too large for our mother. Marla Vista is more intimate. She loved it. Especially the staff. I would recommend to others.

The maintenance person is excellent. Some of the staff is outstanding. They would contact me with any issues or concerns about my mom's health. Other staff should find other occupations - in that they didn't want to be bothered. The office staff was rarely in the office, the Director did not return phone calls The response times to the call button were slow. I think because either there isn't enough staff to meet the needs of the residents, or they didn't want to be bothered. It was often hard to find a worker - this was most evident when there was a problem. On one instance, my mom was having a stroke and my son-in-law didn't know the address to give to the 911 operator. He finally found a worker outside at her car. She slowly got out of her car and made her way to the building - no sense of urgency. In regards to the meals - they were spicy and not necessarily nutritious. Most days they would have at least one meal that was a brat or hot dog or cold sandwich with potato chips. My mom was at the end of the hall and had meals taken to her room and they were almost always cold. Depending on the staff, they would or would not microwave it. The cleaning was adequate except for when the cleaning person was out with COVID. Then her room wasn't cleaned for a couple of weeks, other than the garbage was picked up. The cost of the apartment for the size was good. I spoke with a number of residents that were mobile and participated in activities and they were happy with the facility.

It has been an absolutely wonderful experience for our family at Desert Springs Senior Living. The staff are nice. Cleanliness of the facility is ok. The front desk staff has been very accommodating.

My loved one didn't like it. My loved one didn't think they had enough activities. I liked the community because it was smaller and they had a doctor that makes visits to the community.

There are stained carpets, and toilets not cleaned regularly. They are understaffed and there are call lights that go unanswered. If a resident was not mobile, they weren't included in many activities or brought to activity room.

Park Place Assisted Living is phenomenal - we love it. It's very homey, and our loved one is very comfortable there. They don't push him to do things he doesn't want to do. He's free to roam around and do whatever interests him. It's the perfect place for him. It's not fancy and doesn't feel like a resort/ hotel like a lot of places do. It feels more like a home.

From what I can remember, Lakeshore had the dementia patients separated from the others and did not give them access to the nicer community areas. Way to nursing home like.

The place is older but clean. The food is pretty darn good. There are always activities throughout the day as well as movies, ice cream socials and when it's warm, hot dogs and burgers in the courtyard. Happy Hour, too! Both the administrative and attending staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They seem to want the residents to be healthy and happy. They encourage visiting by family and friends. There is a pool, as well. Not many facilities have that! As far as cost, I did my research, and the Lexington is a comparable value to what is out there. They really worked with us to make sure my dad and stepmom had the accommodations that they would be happy with. The medical staff seems competent, and they are in contact with me about everything that may occur, from toenails needing clipping to a fall. I feel comfortable with my loved ones living there.

Our family had an in person tour and the tour experience was very nice along with the facilities but due to our loved ones health they were just not able to accommodate him being there.

This was a good tour experience for our loved one and family. The staff were very nice. Our loved one wanted to be closer to family and friends.
