Discovered almost rudely at Legacy at Falcon Point that they weren't going to give her all of her medication. It wasn't part of their license to give her insulin and we were not told that upfront. She was only there for five days and we had to take her out. It is a very nice facility but just not suited for anyone that has real medical problems.

There have been a few issues. As far as the whole facility it's pretty clean, but the private areas aren't as well attended to, I would give the private areas and the housekeeping, a 1. The staff are all pretty friendly, but some of the staff shine above and beyond. We don't really need all that much care so that's a little harder to rate. The activities, haven't been exceptionally stimulating for my loved one. I would give the food a four. Dealing with some grumpy, not so nice residents has been the other thing that has been an issue.

It's only been a month, but these are our impressions.

This wasn't a great experience for us. They weren't as prepared as they presented themselves to be to handle the challenges and difficult behaviors, that can go along with more advanced dementia, and Alzheimer's. They may be just fine for someone with mild dementia or Alzheimer's, but not a challenging case.

It's been very interesting at Horizon Bay Austin. There have been two major problems we've experienced here. One was issues with what was promised with the room, the other was with regulating medications. There seems to be a lot of miscommunication going on. We were promised things that we didn't get. They have nightly room checks, so mom doesn't feel like she has privacy. Because of all the issues, my mom is moving out.

I am very disappointed in this place. The first impression was wonderful with Kelly, but since moving my father here, I have nothing but problems. The caregivers that handle the meds are completely incompetent. They let him run out of his blood thinner and cholesterol medicine before they even called to tell me. I have to order these from the VA and wait for them to arrive in the mail. Then I brought them in, and they tell me he is out of another RX. The woman can hardly speak English and didn't even know which med it was, when she called me. Then I signed up for electronic payment for the monthly billing. As of July 1st, it had not come out yet, as I had just signed up. I gave the woman in charge a check, and she said if it came out before the 5th, she would tear it up. Well, they cashed it the next day and the electronic payment came out! This was a $4,000 over charge. When I called Jenae, the account woman, she was very rude, and told me his account would have a credit for next month. This was $1,000 more than his monthly payment. I called the main office in Seattle, and they were very nice to me, and told me that the home should have just cut me a check. I still have not gotten it resolved. They do have a new girl named Morgan, who is a nurses asst. She is nice and seems to be much more on top of things. Bottom line, this place is not somewhere I would recommend to anyone!

When I toured their assisted living I was impressed by what I saw, it was a very nice looking place and they had a lot of different activities and events to keep the residents entertained. I selected this community for my loved one, and when they sent over a nurse to assess her they said she'd be fine to stay in assisted living with a low level of care. Just a few days after she moved in they raised the level of care they said she needed. And shortly after that they said she was not appropriate for assisted living and moved her into memory care, which did not have all of the nice features that were the reason I selected the community at all. After a week or so there they said she was becoming "combative" and had her sent to a psychiatric hospital. I am upset at both the initial evaluation of my loved ones needs as well as how they handled the situation in general.

Our loved one is on a respite stay with broadway Plaza. The Staff jumped over hoops to find him a place and make his room homey. Our experience was unique because Dad's condition worsened during the move from rehab. We considered moving him to a different unit but the director was afraid that might make him down slide further. Communication amidst the staff shifts could be improved as my Dad's needs often fell through the cracks. Most of the aides were great, but were limited in patient care time by all their duties in serving meals and cleaning the dining room and kitchen. My Dad only had one bath in his first thirty days.

Assisted care did not really entail much assistance for my father. Disappointed in the care and services provided.

This facility is fair by comparison to others. But don't get too comfortable and don't let the elegant looks fool you because once the money runs out, you will be treated like yesterday's newspaper! Also, the nursing care is poor. My mother was taken to the hospital shortly after staying here. The hospital staff discovered that her stomach was extremely bloated. They later found out that she hadn't urinated in weeks which meant that the nursing staff at the Hampton either hadn't noticed it or knew about it and hadn't done anything! They never hooked up her feeding tube and insisted on using cuff BP machines which are known to be inaccurate! Bottom line, this facility is not what it appears to be. As the saying goes, don't judge this book by it's cover!

We ended up wasting a lot of money here. They underwent new management while my loved one was here. The food definitely went downhill, but I guess it was still okay. However, their care response time was not fast enough, and it was time to look at other options. This is definitely for someone who has a lot of money.

It's reasonably priced but it's not best quality of service and that's where I'm having an issue. They have a system where you press the pendent and we were told a caregiver would come in 8-10 minutes and it took a half an hour. My mother is on oxygen and if she was having an issue with her oxygen, in a half hour my mother would have been dead. I'm trying to make them understand the seriousness of not answering my mother's call. She doesn't call for things like turning on the TV. When she calls, she needs help. They promised me some thing when I signed a contract and it's not coming through. I'm giving them an opportunity to clean up their act. I've already told them I'm not sure this is going to work because the issues I'm having are life threating. I think things should be better. On the outside it's excellent. The food is great. If my mother didn't need assisted living I think it would be fine. I think it could be better is there was a better administrative system and more staff. I would recommend it with out the assisted living. Everything else is fine.

Poor communication- some staff didn't know my Mom had fallen days before and to be careful with her until she heals, were inconsistent with administering medications, most staff was kind, was supposed to receive a shower 2 times a week. That didn't happen for an 8 week period of time. Food took a long time to get to the table after ordering, food served was almost always different than what was on the menu, front desk staff was helpful and friendly, plan of care was not what was being given-example-"receive assistance getting dressed and going to the bathroom " neither had ever been provided-she did not need that kind of assistance yet we were charged for it

My dad likes the activities and a lot of the residents but not happy with the food, service taking way too long. Also it takes maintenance awhile to get things fixed

My sister is in the memory care unit, and while the staff is, for the most part, very friendly and caring, I feel there is a lot of room for improvement. The biggest concern is the lack of meaningful activities. Residents eat breakfast, then many go back to bed. The same thing happens after lunch and dinner. They have a monitor that lists scheduled activities and the daily routine, but I rarely see those activities actually taking place. I spend a lot of time there and have even stayed overnight a couple of times, so I've had plenty of opportunities to observe what goes on. I believe the residents would really benefit from more activities and gentle exercises that help with their minds, bodies, and balance. With a little encouragement, I'm sure many more residents would participate. They seem bored, and that's especially disappointing in a memory care unit, where engaging activities can make such a difference. I don't see enough being done to help stimulate or support my sister's memory. The facility also appears to be short-staffed and somewhat disorganized. Considering the amount families pay for care, I think they could do a much better job providing structured activities and engagement for the residents. On a positive note, the breakfast and lunch food is good, and the staff members are generally kind and friendly. I just wish there were more focus on keeping the residents active, engaged, and mentally stimulated.

Overall care was not like I thought it would be

What they could improve on would be Cleanliness, better communication between the administration and the nurses.

They don't do what they are supposed to do. They do not remove the trash or make the beds as promised. The house cleaning 1x a week is almost nonexistent unless I complain and they don't change his sheets unless I remind them too. The activities are also almost nonexistent and no one goes to the few they have. They don't listen to what the residents want to do and they don't try to get him involved However everyone there is extremely nice. But lazy.

My mom was only there a month. It took almost 3 weeks for her to get any pain meds and they were slow to get her seen by the on staff doctor. The front office intake people were nice and one of the ladies that helped take care of mom was great--but most of the staff saw any request as a bother. After they asked us to move mom she passed away 2 weeks later. The people at the 2nd place--which was not as nice of a place in terms of appearance--had wonderful help and they cared for mom attentively.

The initial meeting and tour with [name removed](marketing) went very well and I believe her to be sincere about the care given to their residents. We moved dad a few months ago, and have experienced very little of the care we were promised, including him getting his medicines regularly. I would not recommend them to anyone without some incredible process improvements.
