Very great cottage. Ended up being not what we were told. I understand what we were told was not what is available in the cottages but should have been told a cottage is not what we need. Instead I feel we should have had it explained that a cottage would not have worked for us. We need to move to the main building but we need a two bedroom and they are only on the second floor which will not work for us as neither of us can walk. A one bedroom will be very hard for us to do. We are physically unable to use any of the extra activities so we are paying for things we can't use. (wasting our money) Will try to look for another facility that can accommodate us. Hate to leave but it is what it is,

We were originally happy with this facility, two years ago, but have become frustrated with Friday night calls regarding needed medications, finding out we were paying for items not being included in her care, and the cleanliness. The past several months the place has begun to stink and it has gotten to the point I can barley walk down the halls upstairs.

Smelt of urine, carpets were very dirty.

This is a beautiful facility. It felt too much like independent living. We didn't see very many residents out and about or staff It just didn't feel like the right seeing for what we needed.

Even tho it was set up like the other Brookdales, it seemed more run down and the residents that I seen seem to require more care and not as socialble.

Not intersted in independent to assisted living facility at this time. Also, not interested in all inclusive: 3 meals, laundry, housekeeping. Too expensive for my budget. 1 Bedroom very small and not enough natural light. 2 Bedroom better but too expensive.

During the short time that my loved one was there, majority of everything was pretty good. The staff was great, outstanding in fact. They worked with me to set things up to get my loved one established there. They went out of their way to make it work. However, there were things that didn’t necessarily meet expectations. My loved one was not impressed by the food, not impressed by the level of maintenance in terms of upkeep (such as paint and carpet, those types of things), and the staff there was great and working very hard with limited resources. It seems that somebody in corporate was restricting their available funds for staff and maintenance. In general the facility overall is great and the staff too, they just need a little bit more funding for staff and resources.

Food was not up to par. They required assigned seating for meals which turns their eating experience from a restaurant into "I'm being managed in an institution". I really didn't like it and neither would my mom and dad. They did not have any 2 bedroom units available. Other than that, it was nice.

I toured here when looking for a place for my mom and stepdad and they seem to be a little sterile. It didn’t have the same level of life in the residents as a couple of other places that I had seen and there didn’t seem to be much warmth. They looked more institutional. We had an individual that showed us around and they kind of had a finite set of rules and you had to fit into a certain box. They didn’t seem very flexible.

I toured Brookdale while looking at options for my mother, and while it is a very nice community, I found that it was too big and busy for my mother. I felt that she would prefer a smaller place with more of a homey comfort, and I was afraid she’d get lost in Brookdale.

We toured Brookdale while looking for options for my in-laws. Overall, I found it to be a very nice community, but I was worried by father-in-law would get lost there. I found the community set up confusing. I also felt that it was very expensive. We decided to find a satisfactory alternative instead.

I have put my mother in this community and I'm 50/50 on the care she is getting. The caregivers are doing the basic needs for my wife. My wife has IBS and there are limited options for food if you can't eat what they are serving she gets a turkey sandwich and that gets old. The place is clean. The management is as good as good as it gets. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I'm looking for other options now as I write this review.

1. Arrived at facility on time. [Removed]my guide was 10 minutes late. Reception area person was like warm. 2. The facility essentially covers the needs of an independent living style. Daily trips for outing is a plus. 3. On the tour came across other staff. They seem to be courteous in making you feel at home. See a few residents as we were walking by. They seem to be happy to be living there 4. The corridors caught my attention. They are wide with nice seating areas conveniently arranged. At several locations. It is a great feature. It would be further enhanced if these areas could be provided with local heating during winter 4. Bistro is a nice feature. 5. Excellent location. Cannot ask for a better location for senior living. 6. I am not the right person to comment on meals menu. I am a vegetarian. Not much is offered on the menu for a vegetarian. 7. Most of the residents I saw seem be in 80s. It is just an observation.

I am not interested in Brookdale. The duplex/cottage type of setup is not what I am looking for. My rate is low because of my lack of interest.

When I was looking for a home for my mom, this is one of the facilities that I toured and I'm less than impressed. The staff did not appear to be happy to be there, and this was on more than one occasion. Sometimes people have bad days, but the staff looks like they just don't want to be there. The facility is large and overwhelming. The hallways are long and narrow and for someone that's changing environments, it seems like it would be hard to adjust to. It feels closed in and not at all welcoming. There's not much that's bright and cheery about this home.

We did go to this community for a tour, we first met with the salesperson who showed us pictures and brochures, answered some of our questions and then went over the pricing with us. That is when we decided that we really did not need to take the tour as the price was not within my sister-in-law's budget.

Brookdale Apple Valley was a nice tour. The staff was friendly and helpful when they gave the tour. It was not as immaculate as what we were looking for. And we needed something that would be a better fit for our budget.

My wife has recently made the move into this community and so far she has been satisfied with how things have been going for her. She has made the transition easily and has made some friends since she moved in with the other residents. One of her complaints would have to be that the meals need improvements. They can not seem to ever get her order right and have had complications with the quality of the food. I also am disappointed that some how the staff have managed to break three of her hearing aids that she needs.

For our family we thought this community was too far for us. It didn't meet the needs for a move-in. It is suitable for a family with different needs.
