Not too clean upon entering the lobby, does not even give a clean appearance inside. very dismal, Plus the fact they require $5,000.00 upon signing a contract. Definetly this is not the place for me.

Scary and Depressing. NO!

We moved my Mom into Emeritus of Hemet last October. When she moved in she was able to walk on her own and pretty much care for herself. She did need help with medications which the med techs screwed up right away. My mom is on a blood thinner that requires frequent blood tests. The med techs weren't waiting for the test results and doctor's orders, so her Coumadin level got dangerously high. We probably should have moved her out immediately, but I thought it was going to improve. It did not. My mom fell in the bathroom and fractured a vertebrae in her lower spine in January and became bedridden. My mom does not hear well and when she would ring for help the aides would call her back on a speaker which she couldn't hear. So she would be left to lie there and yell for help -- which of course the aides resented -- and would complain to me about it. I felt my mom was neglected, mainly due to not enough staff. There are only two aides for 15 rooms -- many of those clients in wheelchairs. Frequently there is only one aide -- and they are expected to run the vacuum and do other cleaning as well as take care of the clients. My mom was in severe pain one night and the med tech refused to give her any more pain medication (my mom's prescription read "every 4 hours as needed") and for some unknown reason they were making her wait 6 hours. They didn't call the doctor, or even the "wellness nurse" that's on staff. So my mom insisted they call 911. When I called the doctor later that day my mom's prescription was increased. What would my mom have done if she didn't have someone that was checking on her all the time? If you are looking for a $2,000 room and board situation, with food that is out of cans (no special meals or special requests -- even though that's what they tell you when you're looking at the place), and you don't need any help, then perhaps this will work for you. But if your elderly parent needs a little TLC look elsewhere. The director is often not available. I made an appointment to meet with him, my mom's doctor, and the wellness nurse (after another very serious medication screw-up) and the director didn't show up. He had a "family emergency", which I understand can happen, but I drove an hour to be there and he didn't even call me to say he couldn't come, much less offer to reschedule. When they increased our monthly bill from $2,800 to $5,000 I called and left a message to speak to him and he never called me back. When I gave notice that I was moving my mother I did not receive one phone call from him, or anyone on his staff. My mom's first name is GEORGIE and when I came to see her after she moved in, they had made a nameplate that [removed] GEORGE. They didn't even know (or care) what sex she was. When my mom was in a nursing home after her injury for a month (and still paying the $2,000 rent at Emeritus) the director said he had sent a get well card and that they "usually" visit but he had been too busy. And yet when asked, he didn't even know which nursing home she was in, and guessed wrong. They didn't send a card -- another lie. This is a FOR PROFIT corporate business.

I would tell others looking into this facility to run away. They were not properly staffed at all and when we went to tour there were no covid protocols.

Alta Vista smelled like urine when you walked in. There were a lot of people hanging out in the hallways in their wheelchairs looking like they were going to drool on themselves at any moment. It was sad.

Meridian at Westwood was so depressing. The facility was very outdated in its décor and amenities. The dining experience very open, but it wasn't decorated and inviting, just empty. Cleanliness was almost non-existent. The room that they showed us was a room that never got touched. It was damaged and there were holes in the wall. And they showed it to us as if they were not concerned at all about its condition.

I would not recommend this community to others. The management in the community does not know what's going on and they did not follow through with things that we asked them to do. They over-ordered medication after I told them not to and lied to me about it. Their billing is incorrect and they tried to charge us for rent when he was not there.

Chesapeake Place is not staffed or managed to take care of it's residents. Our beloved family members and most vulnerable. If you care for your loved ones, do not consider this facility.

My mother had come to this senior living place about 5 or 6 years ago. It has changed drastically that has nothing to do with covic19. Your company told my mom that she would be in quarantine for only 48 hours instead she was quarantine for 10 days. That was a direct lie to my moms face. Also the people forgot my mother had to eat too. My daughter called them 3 times to tell them they forgot about feeding her. It happened again the next day too. The staff are unfriendly. They wear their proudness on their shoulders, which need to be knock off at times, which is inappropriate. After my mother was there for about 2 days she called my daughter to pick her up. This is in California and we live in Washington. It wasn’t a very good experience. I would steer away from this Pacifica Hillsborough in Chino California

If you are thinking of placing your loved one at Pacifica please read this review! I hope to save families from the heartbreak we have had endured! I don’t even know where to start. My sweet 96-year-old grandmother has endured bedbugs, filth and complete isolation. Not to mention the fact that the Pacifica staff never once let us know that my grandma was going downhill fast. We were not allowed in or out of Pacifica since Covid started. We had to read in the newspaper that there had been several deaths in Pacifica and we were not notified that they were testing my grandmother weekly for Covid. Do you want to know how it got into Pacifica? The staff was going out in groups not wearing facemasks and brought it in!These pictures were taken today as we moved my grandmother out of her room, she has only been in this room around six months (she got moved due to bed bugs)! She was completely confused and really wasn’t comforted as she had to move rooms! Absolutely disgusting.....she is completely blind and lives in an “assisted living”.... does this look like to you that someone took care of her? She was found unresponsive last week and upon her arrival at the hospital the social worker noted that she was completely filthy and her diaper had not been changed in some time! I’m absolutely heartbroken and disgusted! A staff member mentioned they noticed a decline in her health. We had absolutely no idea, because we were not permitted to go in due to the virus. Why would you not even let a family know about this? I feel that they are completely shady and I could go on and on. Numerous members of our family have been treated poorly by the staff of Pacifica as well! Please save your loved one from being mistreated! My father was in the facility for 2 months. There is something shady going on here and I'm requesting an investigation of their practices.

Their non-care of my mom I feel contributed to her death. The staff is not well trained. My mother was having a stroke and they did not even notice. I asked them to call 911 and they said no, if you want to call you do it. They are not trained to assess and care for the residents. They are not kind to the residents. Do not move here.

STAY AWAY! I put my Mom here and she was dead in less than two months. I saw her the Monday of the week she died & when I left I said to myself she's going to live till 100! That Wednesday she was fatigued & not eating. She was seen by their doctor, blood tests were requested, one of their aids asked my Mom if she needed to go to the hospital, AND NOT ONE OF THEIR FIVE STAFF WHO KNEW MY LEGALLY BLIND MOTHER WITH DEMENTIA WAS NOT WELL CALLED ME. My Mom died Thursday night. Had they had the courtesy to call me I would have been there immediately. Their excuse is that she said she was fine - well my Mom was not a complainer & she would have been very scared at the thought of going to the hospital without her daughter. Also, since my Mom had only lived there less than 2 months you think they'd call since they weren't that familiar with her habits. Their staff lied to the RI DOH when I requested an investigation - the woman at the front desk who claimed she sang with my Mom & loved my Mom told the DOH that she was not familiar with my Mom. Shame on these people! Look at the complaints against the director, [name removed], on the DOH website (I didn't know about this until after my Mom died). STAY AWAY!!

This company is into real estate and not into helping seniors! They have absolutely no concept whatsoever regarding the proper care or consideration the elderly deserve. It is an utter shame the a Place for Mom would even recommend Pacifica. Do your parents a huge favor and do not even look into this company. I had to pull my parent out of there due to their disregard and lousy management.

Food is horrible!! care is pathetic! Do not put your loved one. Do your homework and research this place.

Went to visit a friend yesterday in the dementia unit. The tenants were just sitting there falling asleep, they seemed very bored, not much interaction. Posted is a calendar of activities, they were supposed to be doing therapeutic art but staff was just sitting there on their cellular phones. Very disappointing.

The lady that is in charge of admissions assured us that Victoria Court was perfect place for our mom. There is a $3000 fee when you sign on the dotted line so we went ahead with it because we believed the admissions director. The weekend staff was terrible . Our mom was often left sitting in her room in her wheelchair very for long periods of time. Their memory care program is very sub par. Someone on staff reported our mothers care to the Elder Care Board saying the night and weekend staff couldn't handle lifting her and she was in danger. Also no one is in charge on the weekends We took her out of there and found a wonderful place that is superior in every way. She was only there a short time when the Elder Care Board said she couldn't stay. We are trying to get the $3000 fee back because the admissions director misrepresented the quality of their care and assured us Victoria Court was perfect for her. WE have not been successful in getting any of the Money back

My mother was looking for a new place because the place she was living was raising the rent significantly. We visited the home and fell in love with the place and the price which was significantly cheaper than the place she was currently in. Before she could move in, Atria required that she have a TB blood work done that cost almost $300 and she passed. Right before we were about to move, in, we were told that the price they provided us was incorrect and it was going to be a lot more than the place she was staying at. So we had to pull out of the agreement. I called and emailed Atria multiple times to request for a reimbursement of the blood work since it was Atria's requirement and not my mother's doctor and never go a call back and was always told that [name removed] the director was not in the office every time I called. They finally transferred me to someone else but was told no, they won't reimburse that. While they may seem great, I found the experience at Atria really poor and would never recommend it. The bait and switch, lack of response if you are not a potential client at this time and extra cost is why I would never consider this place for anyone I care about.

They promised we could skype weekly yet they have the worst internet service. They said we could call whenever yet most times they transfer me all over the place so I have to call multiple times. They've misplaced bedding and towels that have names on them. We've had to micromanage to get the podiatrist appointments, eye care appointments, teeth being worn and still can't get a beauty shop appointment. They used to have facebook page and I sent many messages asking if they could post pics for family out of state; they are always "working on setting it up".

Poorly run facility. Large turn over in staff. More staff needed to help all the residents in each cottage.
