Woodmark is a nice place when you first get there but for myself and my spouse it just didn't make the grade. Now keep in mind that it was not a good fit for us, but it may be for others. I thought they were overpriced.

Meridian not for us. No aging in place, if 1 partner starts needing assistance. They are moved to another building, but spouse stays in Independent living, 2 rents.

Did not offer memory care only assisted living. Rates were great but atmosphere depressing.

Food is usually average to below average. One good meal of shrimp cocktail, lamb chop, raspberry cheese cake were all delicious - 1st time in 4 1/2 years. Wait staff at times rude and condescending to seniors, treat everyone as if they have dementia. Staff needs formal training and accountability on being kind and compassionate to senior. This would greatly improve the overall living conditions.

When I moved my Mom in last year it was wonderful!! My sister and I couldn't have been pleased more. We had the best 10 months!! Then in August, the changes of administration came with cut backs where the residents and staff were in jeopardy. The place is now so filthy, the food is also not the same since the Food Director left and now the caregiver leaves the cottage to go up to the front building to roll the food to the cottage! Unbelievable as the cottages are at capacity and pretty much only ONE caregiver is there alone. They are overworked and the residents are suffering as well. There is a resident in my mom's cottage that won't leave my mom alone and when the staff try to intervene, they are attacked by this woman. We brought our concerns to the Administrator and the Nursing Director, but they acted like they just didn't care!! It has gone so downhill that I had to move my mom out for her own safety. Very, very sad and traumatic...

Always dirty elevators, floors, smelly public bathrooms. Prisoner after 8pm. Not close to anything like shopping bus only takes 12 people once a week not enough. Not enough activities. Unhappy camper here!

The facility has been refurbished, but still has a "tired" look about it. We don't like that the residents have to go "outside" (under a covered walkway) for meals and other activities. During rainy and stormy weather, this would be a real deterrent. We will not be considering this place.

No place to walk outside of center. Center itself had nice buildings in a gated community.

Right move – I am at a wait and see – with all that’s going on at the moment with the renovation and transition and not knowing one minute to the next.

Quick response to my inquiry! Pleasant location. Best suited to seniors who are still physicallly fit and can still drive. Otherwise, campus can be challenging to navigate. If senior not driving, there will be limitations for access to community resources. Not great fit for our needs. One home we toured had a horrible musty odor and did not have deck/stairs out rear sunroom. This created concerns for falling if resident attempted to go out sliding door. However, second home was completely remodeled and no odor. Impressive craft house and woodworking house on property. Again, navigation by foot in winter or limited mobility to access places on campus is major challenge. No interaction with other residents during time spent there - makes me feel it would be easy for residents to go unnoticed.

This is not a community I would feel comfortable placing my mother in. The cleanliness of the community needs major improvements. The lady that gave me my tour was kind, and sweet. However from what I was shown the community has a bad odor lingering around it. There was mold in the room they showed me. It was really dark, and not the community for my mother, and her needs.

I was not impressed with my tour of this community at all. The staff seemed like they did not want to be there and did not fit the job of working for the elderly. The floor plan was not my favorite and the room they showed us was completely trashed. The overall facility was run down and very dark and gloomy. The outside was just concrete around the entire building as well. Overall this is just not a place I would want my mother to be living in.

We were not happy with my mother's care when she stayed at their attached rehab facility (on the same property, different name). Rehab was excellent, but unfortunately, the way the certified nursing assistants handled her and her fears means we'll never trust a Brookdale establishment ever again. One or two CNAs made her stay a living nightmare, and even after complaining, and empty promises it would never happen again, they were repeatedly assigned to her, resulting in night terrors and a visible decline in her mental stability. These issues cleared up once we transferred her to another facility. I'd like to add, my mother was a nurse earlier in her life, and knew exactly what was going on -- and she was livid.

My 90 year old father has resided at MVV for 2 years. He likes the facilities, neighbors, and the weather. He does not like the food which he says has deteriorated steadily. He also complains that the entertainment and social activities have also steadily declined since he first moved in. My wife and I shared lunch with him there recently and frankly, it was terrible. We understand there is also a theft problem at Monte Vista which the staff largely ignores. Any problem or complaint that comes up is invariably attributed to the residents' declining memory or confusion. We would have moved him from this facility long ago but he has friends there which he says outweigh the problems.

The Executive Director and nursing director do NOT return calls. Took 2 weeks for the staff Dr. to call in prescription to pharmacy.

Met with one of [Removed] asst today, very small,older, no kitchen.

I use to be very happy living here@ Pacifica. Due to the constant changes of staff, lack of communication, avoiding information & I do enjoy some of the staff & residents.

This community needs to be more attentive to their residents to improve the experience here. I am not happy with the facility. I believe they are under staffed. I find my friend does not have his teeth in. The other day he was sitting at the table about to eat without his teeth. It baked chicken, broccoli and pie. He got sick and has not been eating, I have requested soup to accommodate. I brought this to their attention but don't see any change. He has fallen and nobody claims to know what happened. His brand new transportation chair has scratches and I noticed he has a scrap on his elbow. We assume he fell out from his transportation chair. He has nurse to check on him, they give me updates. There are not many residents and they have activities for the residents.
