Pacifica Senior Living

I was very happy to get my loved one out of the community he was in previously. When I first started with the community they stated that they would be able to take care of my loved one. My loved one stated that he was unhappy and now they would like for him to find somewhere else to go and now I am in a current battle trying to keep my loved one here. If I would have known that they could reevaluate after 2 weeks of living there I would have reconsidered this community. I am unhappy that they are not trying to get to the real issue.

I was not impressed with our tour with Pacifica Senior Living Northridge. Right when we walked in it smelled and the facility itself is run down. When we were getting off of the elevator, we noticed the workers were kind of rough with the residents. Based on what we saw I would not recommend them.

I did not like this one at all. When you walked in it was very dark and depressing. I'm sure there are things about it I blocked because I did not like it when I walked in, and I knew my loved one wouldn't like it.

I did not get a good feeling after our tour with The Woodmark. The lady we were working with indicated she was going to have to evaluate my loved one. I was sitting there and he did well on the evaluation, but she immediately stated that he would have to go into memory care and be in the locked portion of the facility. We were only looking at assisted living and did not like the way they went about things which is the reason we did not choose them.

I was not impressed with them at all. It was an assisted living facility, but it felt very much like a nursing home. The rooms had very small, office-sized refrigerators on the floor, which made them not very easily accessible. It was just not an inviting or friendly atmosphere, and they seemed to upsell / oversell it too much.

If your loved is truly independent and needs no medical assistance then it's a fine community. But if they do need medical care I would not recommend this community to others.

We toured this community and was not very impressed. They did not have private bathrooms, and the community did not meet our expectations. The price was lower than others in the area.

Make sure you read the fine print before you sign anything. The people who live here are great. Maintenance is not very good. It can take a really long time for them to come by, and then they don't do a very good job. Cleanliness suffered a little between Covid and some construction going on, which caused things to be blowing around everywhere. Lunch and dinner are not so good. Breakfast is a little better. With Covid going on, they haven't really been offering any activities, which was very disappointing. But the independent living side is a great little place on the back of the property. We have individual cottages that are a good size, with plenty of privacy. We have our own garages and everything.

We would not recommend this facility to others if their loved ones need a lot of care. The workers are great there but the administration is horrible.

If you have a fixed income, do not even consider because the price will change, no matter what. This is based on three families that I know of that have left the facility. Atria Encinitas is probably one of the worst providers. They kept raising the price. They said it was because our loved one's care needs increased, but she had the same functioning as when she moved in. I loved the sales director. The GM wasn't very helpful. There were only a few people out of 25 that we liked. My loved one said the staff were rude to her. They didn't offer a whole lot for activities, which we were disappointed in. The only redeeming quality was the food.

I would say not to go here. My loved one didn't have a great experience from the start due to the pandemic. The evulation wasn' the proper one. The short amount of time my loved one was there the staff didn't like the family being involve. The communication and style had me calling every other day to the President of the Community.

The community wasn't filled with not so nice people. There was head nurse who wasn't very friendly. I wouldn't recommend this community. If the resident needs more care, the nursing staff is very poor. My loved one was only there for about 3 months before we decided to move her out of this community. The sales person was good, except after sign up they don't want to have anything to do with you and they don't want to care for the resident. The community seemed cold and insensitive of the residents during the lock down. I'm not sure if they were short staffed or overwhelmed.

Communication with staff is poor. Felt like I was bothering the staff when I was asking about my mother. Lots of misinformation about the virus. Glad she's not there anymore.

The staff came to our house to meet the family and my mother in law who was going to be moving in soon. They came to assess her and understand what exact needs and care services she would have to get. Once we moved her into the facility about two weeks later they told us she needed a whole different type of care then what they originally told us. We told the staff she needed help dressing herself and eating since she wasn't able to do it herself, they reassured us that would be no problem. However we found out she was being left alone to feed herself, she was starving and very lethargic. She had three really bad falls there, she had bruises and ended up needing to get stitches. We would never recommend this community to anybody. We were so disappointed in the lack of care our loved one received.

It was not a good fit for my sister in law. She needed more care then they were able to provide. The room sizes were good. The food was not good, and not very nutritious. They have outdoor space. They were very short-staffed.

They have lost a lot of my husband's belongings. Everything from shoes to blankets to even his wedding ring are now missing. I don't think he is receiving the level of care that he needs. I haven't been able to see him because of the Covid-19 pandemic in months. It would be nice if I could see him through at least a glass door.

Although the staff was very friendly and engaging with the residents. The place felt dingy and unkept. The rooms were dark and uninviting. I just couldn't imagine leaving my mom here.

The RA's work very hard. The managers, nurse supervisor and most of the administrative staff are horribly rude, hostile, and rigid. They act like we are children and they constantly come up with on the spot rules which are unfair to the residents.
