We have had some struggles but it is starting to improve. They are losing their director of nursing though and she is the one who was making changes happen. I would tell others to constantly check on your loved one initially to make the staffing understand how to take care of their needs. Everyone is different and responds to care in different ways and they do not always see that. It does seem that they have a lot of turnover so I have to tell the new staff what to do.

On the surface, it looks clean, which is one of the things that attracted us to them. But once you spend time there, you start noticing things that are not clean. However, even so, it was much cleaner compared to other facilities we toured. Some of the staff are super friendly and helpful, and others don't give you the time of day. The biggest problems we experienced were with maintenance and the medical team. Because the residents can push their own alert buttons, the staff don't respond to them quickly or take them as a serious matter. One night when I was there visiting my family member, another resident told me she was having a stroke, so I sat there with her while we pushed her call button. Eventually the staff would come by and tell her "Oh, you're okay" and then leave. I sat with her for several hours before someone took her back to her rom to take care of her. While my family member was there, he had fallen. They didn't properly document it or let us know that it happened. When we asked about it, they told us he fell asleep on the floor and decided to stay there, which did not match up with what hospice had reported to us. Maintenance requests took quite a lot of effort to be taken care of. We had a problem with theft perpetrated by a maintenance staff member that has since been resolved but was difficult to deal with in an already difficult time. Often our phone calls weren't returned. The food I tried was okay, but the other residents, including my family member, hated it. There was some staff turnover, and the director left while we were there, so we were tossed around to a lot of different people. The lead nurse is probably one of the most helpful people there. Also [name removed] at the front desk is great. She has been there even before ownership changed to Pacifica. She's definitely the face of the place. The residents feel she's one of the only ones who cares about them. She genuinely takes a true interest in every person who's there. Without her, they would feel like the don't have a voice. We appreciated her extra set of eyes for our family member. If we needed something, or if I needed to know how he was truly doing, I could get an honest answer. The other staff would just say "Oh, he's fine" when I knew that wasn't the case. In general, I was disappointed in the reaction time of the medical staff, especially if it was an emergency. I would not recommend them, especially for residents who need more care. The independent portion seemed perfectly fine. They have a lot of activates to choose from. But if your person needs extra care, it's not a place I would recommend.

Our loved one really likes the director [name removed] and most of the staff that she has been in contact with. However they could work to improve their communication with the residents especially when it comes to the updates with covid. They could also work on their billing we have had some confusion and inconsistencies.

The place is ok clean. I LOVE the idea that they can go in and outside as they please. I don't like that care is so so, but most places are lacking staff right now. The price is good, but there is no stimulation or activities going on.

Our experience in Memory Care was much better than the Assisted Living side. The Memory Care unit staff were more attentive, took care of medications, and bandages for my loved one. The staff were loving and pleasant with my loved one. The hospice nurses were wonderful as well. The Assisted Living side of the community I was not pleased with our experience overall. The front desk staff members were nice to work with on the assisted living side of the building, as well.

This was an older building and seemed more fitting for an older individual who was short on money. The community was close to a busy freeway.

Our family had an in person tour and from the outside of the building it was just very dark, dingy and not very clean so that was a turn off right away. The pricing however was good and the rooms were super nice and we did see a lot of activity going on. We just were overall not impressed with the facility.

Activities (miscellaneous) very good, very colorful, positive for mental and physical being. They do keep trying to improve where needed and cost effective for company and residents.

Staff: excellent. Room service and quality of room: excellent. Responsive to problems: fair to poor (examples - waffle maker breakdown: no waffles past 6 months to a year. Toaster breakdown, stovetop for weeks at a time. Movie projector failure: no movies or church service for 2 months.) Lunch and dinner very good recently.

We found the staff to be really friendly, the whole move in process was all nice and easy. The business staff and their website for us trying to pay bills is not very good at all. Other than that the facility itself is really nice and our loved one enjoys it here. They are in the middle of changing ownership, so there is a transition period going on at the moment.

The PA has been wonderful, we have been really pleased with our loved ones care so far. She seems to be really enjoying all the in house activities like bingo and trivia. She has not taken advantage of the outings just yet. She is really enjoying the meals, they recently had a directors dinner which was nice. There are different culinary options. However the could work to improve their communication, sometimes things just lost in translation and its unorganized.

We do hear a lot of complaints when it comes to the meals. They could also give the residents more things to do throughout the day there is a lot of boredom going on.

overall, things are fine - services for me are great. rooms are fine, but as always there is a lot of room for improvements - personnel, food and services,

Good community, not a convenient location for family to visit.

The community seems to be under transition. There are some parts that are good about the community. I do recommend you stay on top of the situation of care for your loved one. There seems to be a high level of turnover of staff. This makes it hard to get consistent care for your loved one. The staff are accommodating to the needs; however, again the family needs to keep the follow through with the staff to make sure things get done for their loved one. The biggest inconsistency was from the medication distribution team while my loved one was here. The food would be late or sometimes never show up unless my loved one would ask for the meal. The meal would then arrive cold. The community did have activities for the residents to participate in if they would like.

This community was probably one of the top places at one time and this is what I heard but things have changed and now it is different. I did not get a lot of what I was promised so right now I would not recommend this community to a friend. Rooms are not getting cleaned and options for diabetics are minimal

It is a nicely decorated building. The food service should be able to offer residents more choices for luxury accommodations.

The community is friendly. The only problem that I have is they don't have one-on-one staff to take care of my loved one. My loved one has fallen several times and it would be nice for the staff to be able to watch my loved one closer. Due to the community not having the one-on-one care I am looking at other communities in the area.

It didn't feel very busy for my independent loved one. It didn't feel like a real community. It had a lot of hallways. The location has a very large homeless encampment near the building.
