I toured this facility and it was good. The cleanliness seemed fine, but there was a little bit of an odor. There wasn’t a lot of activity going on either and when we walked in the residents were just sitting around. Though, it was almost time for them to sit down to eat so that might’ve been why. We heard one of the caregivers yelling at one of the residents in the dining room and that ultimately just put a bad taste in our mouth. However, the person that gave us the tour was from corporate and they seemed knowledgeable about the facility.

Excellent. Only reason not a "5" star is for the cleanliness of my Mother's room and letting laundry pile up. My Mother has Macular Degeneration and cannot see well. When she lived at her home I cleaned her bathroom toilet daily. I have gone in many days and cleaned myself. She isn't messy, she does not have bowel issues, just normal for an elderly person. Her clothes are sometimes not clean. I went in one day and she had no clean PJ's. I am very impressed with staff and their genuine care for the residents. Their willingness to take them on field trips. Their patience. I have only seen one worker who, because of her more abrasive tone of voice and actions my Mom and other residents don't behave as they do with others. I will recommend this facility to others. I shopped around a lot before choosing OG.

Lovely building great staff. Good food. Need better control in place to prevent clients from getting out of secured areas. Rooms could be cleaned better-floors, dusting, furniture, bathrooms.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my loved one and I have no complaints of how things had went. The staff where on time to our appointment and where very friendly throughout our visit. I liked the open floor plan that was easy to navigate through and all of the great amenities for the residents. It was just not the right fit for us in the end decision but I would recommend it to anyone who was interested.

We are pleased with how mom is settling in at the Brookdale Durant. It is a clean and well-kept community. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. They are very welcoming to our family members when we come to visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive to my mom's care needs. The communication is good with the staff members. They are very good at responding to any questions or concerns I have regarding my mom's care. I have dined there with my mom, she is a picky eater but I like the food they serve. They offer other choices if you don't like what is on the menu. They offer activities and my brother has brought in other games and activities for the residents to enjoy. They have a new activities director and she tries to encourage the residents to participate. They have a nice courtyard outside. My brother brought in some hummingbird feeders that he maintains for the resident's enjoyment. I really like the fact that community is located nearby so that I can be there and help my mom and settle her in at night.

After touring at different communities I started to realize assisted living was too expensive for one on a fixed income. There are not many respectable options. The community looked very nice but it was just not a good fit because they were too expensive. A Place For Mom is great and I appreciate their services, it is helpful.

My dad is getting the care he needs and the staff are doing a good job, we have no problems. They have some activities and interaction for the residents. I am not thrilled with the meals, it does not meet his diabetic needs. They do not cater to people with diabetes and special diet needs. I had a meeting about the issues and it was decided to give him insulin instead. After we agreed the nurse had a fit when we let him have coffee and a doughnut. According to them they do not have anybody with diabetic meal needs.

Mom is doing fairly well since moving into this community. She is participating in some of the daily activities. She seems to like the food. The community is kept clean and they have a nice enclosed courtyard. We liked the western decor and we felt mom would like this as well. the staff have been great and I would recommend this community.

We really liked this community, however, the amount of care that was needed for mom and dad, Brookdale wasn't equipped enough to handle them adequately. Heres some advice: For any dementia patient I would highly recommend they be admitted for psychological evaluation at a well equipped hospital or facility who can make knowledgeable prognosis and prescribe any medication which would help handle that patient's mental state. This information would be shared with the care facility and help them better understand the care that would be needed for the specific patient. Unfortunately, the psych evaluation for my parents was AFTER moving into Brookdale. Dad was first to receive the 10 day evaluation at Hillcrest Hospital in Heneryetta, OK. Mom was then taken to Hillcrest upon Dad's return. I feel if we had these evaluations as well as the prescribed meds, prior to moving into Brookdale their stay could have been longer or at a different care center. Brookdale's RN & Director performed an initial interview to help them understand my parents' state of dementia, unfortunately not until Mom & Dad had been residents at Brookdale a couple weeks, when their true mental & physical state were better understood by the staff & administration. Which ended up requiring a great amount of additional cost for care. The time that my parents spent there was GREAT!! Mom is a social butterfly so she enjoyed talking to the residents and the staff, she was a pleasure to all those whom would meet her. I too enjoyed visiting Brookdale, everyone seemed friendly and nice. My parents loved the food, every meal offered variety, balance and the residents seemed to have plenty to enjoy. Especially compared to the Meals on Wheels Mom & Dad had for a couple years at home, he and she seemed to be eating better. After it was determined mom and dad were going to need a higher level of care which came at very high cost. We decided that in-home 24/7 care would be to our cost advantage. However, within 3 weeks at home, everyone involved with my parents care are beginning to feel even more caregivers might need to be hired. Currently a 24/7 full-time caregiver along with an aide coming in for a few hours each day to be an extra set of hands & eyes hopefully will work out. If not, we'll have to consider two 24/7 caregivers at the same time. Obviously driving up the cost. Which brings us to another option we're considering... care facilities whom can take on dementia patients and provide true "Memory Care", Thus far several choices are available in Texas which would allow my parents to be located between one of my sibling whom lives in Texas & myself in Oklahoma. Interestingly, several are properties run by Brookdale, which judging from our past experience we'll look into those facilities first! A word of advice... My siblings tried to convince me to move Mom & Dad to a nursing facility 3 years ago, thus they could have more easily adapt to their new situation, which made perfect sense to me. However, I listened to my parents instead, wanting to please them. Since I live in the same town, I felt confident with the right In-Home care service providing several hours through out the week, Mom & Dad could stay home as long as possible. Thus hoping to keep Mom & Dad happier. Unfortunately, trying to please them appears to have been the wrong choice. So don't make my mistake... don't put it off. It's a tough decision to make, but I really feel if I had heeded the guidance offered by my siblings, much of the headaches, heartaches, and total frustration for my parents, caregivers at home & care center and finally myself... all of this would have been avoided, by having Mom & Dad moved to a care facility 2-3 years ago. Good Luck with your decision, as hard as it is, don't put it off.

My mother and I were very impressed with Brookdale Edmond Santa Fe when we toured. We loved the people, everyone was very friendly. The community was clean and the building was in good shape. It was also close to my house.

I really liked Brookdale Tulsa, it would have been my top choice. The thing that steered me away was the smell, I couldn't get passed the smell as soon as you walk in. Everyone was very nice and if it wasn't for that, I would have moved my mother here.

On my tour I saw a suitable community for a person in need. Nothing was wrong with their services. The main factor for my search was to find a place that was close to me and staff who were professional. I was given a proper tour,no lateness or rushing.

We chose the Brookdale Edmond Santa Fe because it was closest to my brother's house and it was a very nice community. I would recommend it because it is maintained very well and it seems to be a good fit for my mother so far.

The staff are nice and helpful. I have good communication with the nurse. There seems to be a pretty good variety of food. They always have activities and they have people coming in for entertainment. The community is clean and I feel we get excellent care for the price.

Dad is still settling into Saddle Brook. Some of the staff members are better than others when it comes to interacting with my dad. The food and the activities are decent. They do keep the community clean and I would recommend it.

The Oxford Glen Memory Care at Carrollton was a very nice community, with friendly staff and a positive atmosphere. The main thing I did not like about this place was that in the bedrooms, there were no closets. They had huge wardrobes that took up a lot of space and the rooms themselves were very small already. Other than that it was a very nice place.

I would recommend this community because the place is very nice and clean, it looks like a hotel rather than a nursing home. My loved one is doing well since his move here. The staff is nice, but they seem to change a lot. My loved one likes to get used to people and learn their names. The food is up and down but in good portions. The apartment he is in is comfortable and clean. So far, it's been a good move.

I had a good tour of this community. It is a nice looking community, everything looked very nice and clean. The tour guide was kind and informative. It was just a little to far for me to travel to everyday to see her. Overall my tour went well, and this is a nice community with kind people.

My mom is doing really good. They offer trips to stay active. We are happy that they had family night. The food is very good and appealing. My mom does like the staff, but there are a few staff members were there is a communication issue. The community is very clean and maintained. I highly recommend the care and values for other families to offer a loved one.
