We chose Brookdale Edmond because it was the closest and it seemed to be the most clean facility that we saw. When we walked in it did not smell like a nursing home at all. As her care increases so does the cost, so in the future we will most likely have to look at something else. We are happy with the experience so far and would recommend them to others.

We've had a mostly good experience. I wish they had more for the residents to do during the day. When I go in and visit, a lot of times they're just sitting there watching TV. There's a nice garden area and courtyard right outside the door that's not even used. It seems like they could engage the people a little more and get them involved in gardening, or something besides just sitting around. But the staff are very nice. And the facility is always nice and clean. It's also a secure, safe place for my loved one with dementia who tends to wander.

This seems like to be a good place. The food, administrative staff, the cleanliness, and friendliness all stand out to me about the community. Some of the activities available include bingo, exercising, games, and more for the residents to choose from to stay engaged with.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice tour but it is 100% memory care and at the time our loved one was not ready to be place in memory care. If they needed 100% memory care, hands down this would of been a top contender.

We needed to find a place quickly for our loved one, and they were more then willing to work with us in a timely manner. It is a smaller so we know the rest are getting adequate care and the residents aren't getting lost in the crowd. The activities are also no longer limited.

We like the way the staff communicates with our family, and how helpful they were with getting our loved one moved in and settled. We would recommend The Oxford Grand at Shoal Creek community to others.

Our family had a virtual tour experience and it was a pretty good one. They took us around to a bunch of different rooms so we could see the layout, they walked around around most of the facility. Everything seemed really good and it was definitely one of our top choices.

The administration is pretty good. I've had some problems with one of the care staff. He's a little too harsh with the residents, and lacking in patience. The rest of the care staff has been good. They did notify me right away when something happened with my loved one. When we moved in, they told us the food was great, that they serve shrimp often. In reality, the standard is pre-fab hamburgers. For the premium we're paying, I think they should be feeding them better. I'm frustrated that you can't take your loved one out to dinner without them having to quarantine when they come back. I feel like my loved one is in prison, and that's not right. I know it's not Canoe Brook's fault - it's the state regulations. Canoe Brook is still offering limited activities, and it's up to the resident how much they participate. If I call down there and want something done, they'll do it. The three main administrators - the director, the head nurse, and the sales director - are just wonderful people. But their hands are tied. All in all, I think it's a good place. And I would make the same choice again.

The director and head of nursing is a good place to start. They are great and the culture for the community starts from them. They have been available to us for all questions we have had. The communication is great. We have Thursday night zoom meetings. They have kept us well informed. I would recommend this community to others. They are very patient with the residence.

I felt like the process could have been more transparent. They were focused on getting him in the community and needed to focus some on the family and our emotional needs. I would recommend this community to others.

My mother was at Glen Carr for over a year before she passed. At first I thought she need more attention than what she was getting but by going there on a daily basis I saw that my mother had her own mind and did her own thing which sometimes was in conflict to her own best interest. When I was away from her I realized that Glen Carr personnel did their best to make her comfortable, safe and happy. Glen Carr has great people working for them and as any place of business they have some people that do not do their job. Most of my concerns were addressed by Glen Carr management and they always returned calls and was always willing to hear my concerns. My mother had dementia which is a terrible disease and very hard to communicate with people that have this condition but Glen Carr did a good job of listening and addressing all my mothers needs. I would recommend people look further. The corporate management that was there when we were there was terrible to deal with. The care staff was wonderful. The community was very well laid out. The food was good.

The community was always clean. The staff could have been more aware in terms of how often they check on the resident. Other that the care was good. The administrative staff was a bit disorganized. The activities were good but there was definitely room for improvement.

We moved my Aunt to Oxford Grand memory center in November of 2019 and have been very pleased with the outcome. We expect quality care and we feel the staff here are trained to take good care of our loved one. They have a lot of activities and work hard to keep residents engaged. Most all the staff have been very friendly and helpful. We realize this is a very difficult field of work to keep good staffing but Oxford Grand seems to have good people that care. A Place for Mom and the Senior Advisor were very helpful with making our decision.

Location of this facility is the best for our family. The facility is new and absolutely beautiful. No one reached out to contact us before or after our tour. We only saw one resident from a far distance. Tour lasted 30 minutes.

My sister was lucky to have been placed at Brookdale South. Her room was very roomy and comfortable. The layout and decor is very nice. The food was really good according to her. The residents seem to look forward to meal times. The activities varied and were availablle for all levels of ability. The staff is efficient and caring. The nursing staff provided excellent supervision. The management staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The scheduled entertainment was appropriate and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I highly recommend their assisted living facility and services.

Most other residents I know have had to move their parents 2-3 times from facility to facility. There are a couple of reasons that I think Oxford Glenn is great. First and foremost I have had a wonderful experience with the day to day care staff. The vast majority of them are kind and caring. They interact with the patients - they sing with the ones that like that - they hug the ones that like that ..they have taken my mother from being withdrawn (she did not want to have to go into memory care) to coming out to activities. They were compassionate nursing my father until his death and were very comforting to me as well. The new activity people they have are wonderful and I very much like the layout of the place. The buildings are divided into houses - each house is arranged in a horseshoe so that the residents can find their rooms more easily and when they are confused staff can actually see them (no long hallway and twists and turns) and help them. So, from my experience, I would rate the place highly.

This community is safe and secure for my husband. It is a beautiful place its right on the lake and a fairly new building. The staff is wonderful they are always cheerful and smiling. He is enjoying the daily activities like the singing. He gets 3 good meals a day. It has a couple of enclosed patios for them to enjoy. It has snacks out at all times. The only thing is he's not getting the therapy I was under the impression he would get. I would recommend this community.
