They weren't super helpful if we took him out and brought him back after they had made their rounds with meds. Difficulty with missed med management on weekly diabetes injection. Room was hardly ever cleaned unless I pushed on it. Pillow cases never on his bed.

I only gave a 3 because of the new management and how they came in. The transition was not very good and there was not a lot of communication to the families, they also fired all of the previous staff that we loved. There are times I try to call and no one answers the call. When someone is at the front desk, they have been very helpful with updating me and letting me know how she is doing. I have eaten here and the food is pretty good. I would recommend them, but they are still trying to adjust to the new management and I think it will get better as time goes on.

Teal Creek just changed management companies and I'm still waiting to see if I would recommend the community. The level of care has changed drastically on the lower side. The food has been fine for my loved one.

It is difficult for Brookdale to keep qualified staff. Especially shocking is that the facility employed an LPN as the Director of Nursing who spoke to families as if she knew the residents well. It was evident by her lack of knowledge that she did not. Yet Brookdale allowed her to be the one monitoring special care. In addition, there are employees who have no CNA certification or training and are still taking care of our most valued citizens who need a higher level of care. Our family member was lovingly cared for by a FEW staff members but many are overworked, underpaid and undertrained. I would not recommend Brookdale Assisted Living.

Most help is good and they go out of their way to help. The flier says handicap accessible, but it really is not. The independent apartments are not made for walkers and wheelchairs to get around, very narrow entries into the bathrooms. Showers are not zero entry. They say you can have pets, but they are very discriminative towards which ones you can have. When they have trips for residents, not everyone is asked to go. Administration is not very confidential and seems to only listen to certain residents' issues and believe what they are hearing without checking out the other side of the story. Lots of negative comments to residents without much if any positive feedback. Seem to only look for problems and wait for things to happen to scold residents instead of trying to problem solve to make things good for everyone.

At first Teal Creek looked like a wonderful alternative for our Precious Mother. Her first month there she lost 15 pounds. The staff offered meals and did not graciously persist. My Mother had Alzheimer’s and was on the second floor- “Alzheimer’s “ unit which turned out to be as much of an Alzheimer’s unit as Aisle 4 at the grocery store. The unit’s staff were not educated in caring for Alzheimer’s patients. The day shift staff were the most caring , at nights- the staff slept or disappeared, and the weekends were a free for all. Cell phone and jewelry were stolen and police report filed. Also Mother’s narcotic pain med stolen. The bright beautiful lobby is very deceptive of what really goes on. I know and understand that there is no perfect place, but perfection in care needs to be a goal in providing professional and loving care.

We think the nursing staff was very unfriendly and we realized towards the end of our fathers life my brother convinces him to sign his rights over to him. So once our father passed away we are not able to see our loved one. They also did not give us covid updated. Our mothers health started to decline, and we asked the director or nursing one day how she was doing, and she stayed that everything was fine we have nothing to worry about which was a total lie. We asked the state if we could come see our loved one since we knew her health was declining, they said yes under what is called a compassionate visit. This allows families to visit their loved ones as they are dying, we told this to the director of nursing and she said she had no idea what we were talking about. One day we visited our loved one outside of her window, we could see how weak she was which we found out later was because they stopped feeding her. So i decided to go into the community just to give her a hug and a kiss. When i came back outside there was a squad of police offers there, they came up to us stating we had to leave the premises and never to come back. We told them we just went inside to give our loved one a hug, and they said if we came back the next day we would get arrested. Our mother passed away shortly after that, and the facility did not even notify us. A friend of ours notified us that she had passed away. These people have no compassion, they are just all about the money.

Very Dysfunctional place and horrible care to the resident.. would not recommend this facility but a beautiful building that’s it.
