Do I fee that every place is overpriced? Yes. Do I feel they are comparable? I guess. They charge the same as everyone else so they're actually great. I like that the staff is very engaged. I like that there's a wide variety of activities - music, art, baking, walks, my mother goes on excursions but I'm not sure where she goes. It's just a very engaged place. There's a lot of staff, not just your minimum. There are a lot of volunteers too. It's a very vibrant community.

My girlfriend is no longer there but it is not because of anything that Fullerton Gardens did wrong. From my standpoint, because of her condition, it was just not the right place for her. She was a walker and wandered a bit and I didn't take that into consideration when I chose this place. She had a fall and had to go to the hospital. I would have liked her to go back to Fullerton Gardens but because of her condition I decided it was just too big and to noisy for her there. I wanted more of a secluded, home-like setting. Fullerton Gardens was excellent, just not right for us.

I think they're doing a very good job. Mom is very happy there. I think she's getting everything she needs. She's says the food is kind of bland but I think that's probably good for her right now. She's not losing any weight or anything like that so despite what she says she's eating. They have quite a few activities. They have a list every morning that they pass out of things like going on walks. They have more than enough to keep some one like her busy so the activities are very sufficient.

I am very impressed with Sunrise at Oakland Hills and their staff. The environment is welcoming, calming and well maintained. The entire staff is dedicated to the residents, their needs and the family's needs. From the first visit, I felt very comfortable, supported and assured that my Mother would be well cared for. Their sense of urgency around my needs, their support during the move-in and assimilation period have been incredible. I am so happy we found Sunrise at Oakland Hills. Our experience has surpassed Mom's previous care she received at a competitor. I highly recommend this facility if you are seeking a location that is well staffed with professional, experienced, competent staff who love their residents and it shows when you enter the community.

I like that it doesn't smell like urine like a lot of other places do. Their bedrooms are separate. It's got a newer, nicer atmosphere. It doesn't look like a hospital like a lot of places do.

This one was very nice but again, higher end dollars. It's comparable to the others we looked at in what they offer and the price but we found one that would give us a discount on the first month.

I'm not paying for it, it's my brother-in-law that's paying, but I know they gave us a deal for this first month. It's sort of half price because they're sort of evaluating my sister right now. It will go up in price if we leave her there. We really don't know what her needs are going to be so that's why we opted for this. I think everything is great. My sister is in the memory unit. There's assisted living and the memory unit. Tomorrow they're providing transportation for her to her doctor's appointment, so that's good.

Perfect place for my Father. Staff very friendly and always smiling. Clean, good food and the rooms were the largest of all facilities I visited. Plus the cost was less. Robin is a sweetheart and very genuine. This was our choice; however, dad wants to be in AZ. so the search continues there.

I really liked it but it;s just so expensive. They have a third neighborhood called terrace club and its an in between reagular assisted living and memory care; so they handle a little bit of memory issues but no wander risks or outburts or anything like that. It was nice, there was a maximum of 25 residents and always at least 2 caregivers, sometimes 3, and they had their own kitchen and living room, we got really spoiled but cost wise it was difficult. It was so much like having my mom living in a home with a family and with someone who cares. I would call Carolyn, the concierge, and she would recognize my voice and talked to me and would make sure my mom was ready when I'd come to visit.

What a wonderful community! The staff and residents were so friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful setting with an excellent dining room and good food. The apartments were very spacious and would make it easy to adjust to living there.

They provide excellent care for those in need. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They are very outgoing and everyone here is just so welcoming. They are very accommodating and really try to help as best as they can. I am very pleased with them and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

We're extremely satisfied with them. It's expensive but you're taking care of a person's life! The care is great from what we can see and so are the activities. The only think that came as a surprise to us is when they have their big get together activities with lunch and everything, there is a $20 charge with that whic is fine, it's just we weren't aware of it. They go above and beyond. They are so nice and kind and helpful. It's a smaller, family atmosphere. We've had no bad experiences.

It is an older community but it is very well maintained. They said they do deep cleaning every quarter but we haven't been here long enough to see it happen. My loved one likes the food a lot. The only thing I could say might be a negative is that when occasionally the food is not served at the right temperatures. Overall it's well maintained community that takes good care of the residents. They also offer a good level of activities for the residents. So far it has been going good. The cost of the community was better then other communities we looked at. They are a good caring community that knows what they are doing. Just seems like they have their act together.

My grandmother is a resident at Sunrise and I can't say enough wonderful things about this facility. The staff is amazing and always updates our family on any changes. The building is absolutely gorgeous! We just me the new management team and they are so friendly, warm and passionate. Best Assisted Living facility in San Diego!!!

It's been really great. My aunt has been there for a week and a half. From what I have seen, the care is good. They do a lot of music, art, movies, shopping trips, happy hours, coffee and news in the morning and all kinds of games. My aunt likes it. She really likes the food. She said everything she's had has been really good. I visited 4 places and this was the best for my aunt's needs.

Excellent customer service! Mom will stay here in August using their respite option. Then we will move her to CO.

Out of all the memory care communities APFM recommend this was the best. I really liked the outside environment; it has a park like atmosphere for the residents. I feel like this place was an excellent choice. The only thing I did not like is the community room, it just reminded me of a nursing home. They do not have a separate dining room for the residents. It's a great place and if you are looking for memory care in this area you should go here. I feel like it is the best value and the best place. I would also strongly recommend A Place for Mom to help with the search.

It's a little bit more on the expensive side but I think we're getting what we pay for. We're not overpaying - it's a good value. The caregivers and the staff have just been phenomemal. It's always difficult when older people move, it's hard on them. Everyone from the executive director all the way down to the person at the front desk, they love what they do and it shows. I didn't realize what the difference was between communities until my mom moved to Sunrise of Sacramento. I think Sunrise seeks out people that have a heart for older people and want to be there.

(Activities Not Rated too soon) We have had previous experience with Sunrise; my spouse was a head nurse at a different Sunrise community. We already knew their standards and their procedures so it made it an easy choice. Sunrise is one of the more expensive communities but it is because it is top of the line care.

We were looking for a community that had a lot of open space. He was used to the wide open area and we wanted to be able to keep it that way. Emeritus has a lot of open areas he can enjoy and just relax. We are very happy with them so far. They seemed to be the right fit for our situation.
