I placed my mom at Emeritus Laguna Creek after a horrific one month stay at the Carlton. It was such a relief to have her in the hands of the experienced caregivers at Emeritus. They were kind, caring and knowledgeable about the needs and behaviors of the Alzheimer's patient. It releived so much stress from me knowing mom was in good hands. Mom eventually passed away at Emeritus with the loving care she always received there.

Elegant, caring, truly supportive, excellent cuisine, all amenities, great location for shopping, doctors, hospital, fire station next door!

I’d give them a six! It’s a little pricey. IT’s you couldn’t ask for friendlier people. They address you by name! It’s like they’re friends almost. My loved one uses a lot of care needs. They manage medications. They have a med alert and they’re there right away.

Valley View Gardens was the top choice for my Mother after I visited 10 other residences. My Mother and our family are very happy with her beautiful private room, the highly qualified and caring staff, the beautiful grounds and facility, and the fun and stimulating daily activities geared to each resident's abilities and interests. We are at peace knowing that her daily well being is well taken care of with regular facility visits on site with a physician, dentist, podiatrist, lab. technicians, and hair stylist. She is monitored 24/7 by qualified medical staff and administrators. Everyone at all levels is gracious and welcoming to family and visitors. My Mother enjoys viewing the aviary, the resident pet dogs, and the beautiful gardens and gazebo. She feels safe, never bored as she enjoys the exercise classes, singing, movies, games, parties and live entertainment. Valley View Gardens is a top quality residence and an excellent value.

Having a solid head administrator is a key to success. There was a short period where the head administrator was not on top of things. She was replaced very quickly and then everything was great. I highly recommend Sunrise of Monterey. If fact, I have told my wife that if I ever needed a place, Sunrise is where I would want to be.

We have been very, very happy with them. It's just over a year old, so it's real nice. Everybody is doing real well, and they are so nice and helpful. For the price and the square footage, it's a really good deal. Any time we have asked for help hanging pictures, or help with something in the apartment, they have been right there. There are plenty of activities going on and even a movie theater onsite. The food is good and they have lots of choices on the menu. You make reservations and when you are going down, and they serve meals for a couple of hours for each service.

It was very nice. The only problem was that it was outside. To get to the dining room a resident would have to pass through the parking lot and a bit of open space. This didn’t feel safe to my loved one.

I think the staff is very conscientious and knowledgeable and caring. They monthly activity – more like an open house. They have awesome food. There is enough parking . They have a nice outside area for residents to use.

They’re fantastic. The m/ f ration is higher than most. There are more males than other establishments. So for those residents that function better in a higher m to f ratio, this would be a good community to consider. For veterans of WWII or any other war, it’s a great place for them. They are very well received and respected there.

What a great place! It is very clean and the staff is excellent. They were friendly and I can tell that they really care about their residents. The level of care they provide is topnotch, and they offer lots of activities. I have absolutely no complaints, and would definitely consider placing my mother here.

My mother's nurse and care needs became too great for her at home, and when she was discharged from a local skilled nursing facility we decided to find someplace that had a good, high level of nursing staff and hands-on care while also offering a retreat-like environment for her, so that she could enjoy entering a new comfortable lifestyle gently as she recovered. The care team there is superb - the staff is knowledgeable , reliable and compassionate. The place itself is gorgeous. Bravo!

I liked this place a lot - esp the memory care wing. the person in charge of that wing was so personable - in the sense that Dad would really like her. Set up very similar to Terraces - and very willing to work with residents - to make as much a home as possible. - Hard pressed to say at this point which place I liked best Terraces or here. Like

Our experience with the community was excellent overall! Because of being in a hurry we could only tour the facility once but the facility was in excellent condition; the staff and the care offered was fantastic. First impressions are important and because of the lack of the "weird smell" that most senior we felt comfortable continuing, only to be continuously impressed with other aspects of the facility. Our loved one needed a high level of care and we felt comfortable with the staff due to their friendly, cheerful, and wonderful disposition. Overall the value was well worth the investment, and we were happy to pay less than we would expect.

They are very nice and it’s clean environment with a very friendly staff. It’s really just like an upscale hotel. We had no problems finding laundry or parking. The food is good. The activities could be a little bit better though.

I'm really happy. I really moaned and complained initially about how expensive it was, I have concluded that with all the activities and outings they do, it is worth every penny. Laundry is done on a regular basis and we haven't had any laundry "mishaps". The food is really good over there, too. I couldn't have picked a better place, and I almost didn't even look at it because I thought it might be too far. It's brand new and beautiful and clean. I took a friend over there, and they were really positive about it, she said, "What's not to love, what is holding you back?".

My sister and I spent several days visiting places for Mom. Emeritus was the last place we visited and we both agreed that the memory care cottage is where Mom would fit in best. It is not the most glamorous facility, nor is it the newest, but it is warm and comfortable and the staff is kind and caring. There are 16 ladies in "Elm" cottage with at least three staff members present at all times. The rooms are clean and open and most residents are out and about during the waking hours. Meal time is especially nice as the meals are served on linen tablecloths with matching napkins and nice glassware and dishes. The food is appetizing and colorful with at least two choices available at every meal. Mom has been at Emeritus for 8 days and each day she is dressed, hair combed and clean. Both my sister and I are most pleased and we hope that Mom is also pleased.

This place is unbelievable. It was a cruise without the water, a land cruise. I ate there every Sunday that our loved one was there, the food is amazing. It was the one of the only ones that could accommodate a respite stay. They were so helpful, I got the director on the phone on a Friday night, that's unheard of! I'd like to retire there myself someday. They all know me by name there. They are so friendly and helpful.

It’s the best in the world! I wish they had memory care. On the overall value I’d give them a ten out five. It’s like putting her in a nice hotel where they manage medications as well. They have a nice outside area for residents! The shuttle seems uncomplicated. Once you have seen Atria you don’t need to see anything else!

This place feels like a 5 star hotel! It's expensive but when my mom and I realized what she could get when she sold her house, it made this facility a viable option for her. The meals are restaurant style - no assigned times, seating or meals. That's really what sold my mom and me. My only suggestion would be to strengthen the activity program. There are many outings and transportation, but inside the building, there's not a lot going on.
