When looking for an Alzheimer appropriate facility, Valley View and it's sister facility came highly recommended by Jacquie McCord, consultant with A Place for Mom. Before enlisting the guidance from Jackie, we tried to find a place at first, and jumped into another facility which was retrofitted as a "memory care" facility, but was not appropriate for an alzheimer patient. My family quickly learned this after 1 week of inappropriate care, and multiple escapes from the facility. My Father was placed in a psychward after a "fall" for 3 weeks, where his medications were rebalanced. This was an awful time for my family and my Father. Then came Valley View. Enclosed, secure facility with garden & aviary, and activites designed for memory care. The whole place is designed for memory care. And, the staff are happy in their work, engaging, aware of needs, and display a level of professional knowledge to work with seniors in varied stages of dimensia. The staff makes all the difference. We had suggestions from Jacquie for Silverado, Sunflower and Valley View. Valley view was the right fit! My family is grateful for the guidance and compassion through this tough time. And now we have found A Place for Dad.

Lovely place I would give it 10stars out of 5. Its like a resort. The Memory Care part is well organized and staffed. The Assisted Living is very family friendly and cheery. I hope to place my mom here

We were looking for an assisted living environment for our 55 year old Downs Syndrome (high functioning) sister. After their interview and assessment, they allowed her to move in for a 30 day evaluation period. Our sister passed the 30 day period with flying colors and she happily became a resident of the Oakmont. It is a beautiful environment with a very caring staff, plus a wonderful dining room and state of the art movie theater. Their executive director and marketing director became personally involved overseeing our sister's care! We can't say enough nice things about the Oakmont of Whittier and their five-star staff!

My mother moved in about a month ago now. Michelle, Dan and Neisha really helped me through the whole process of the move in. The staff is great they really helped me feel at ease with the move. My mother now gets her hair and nails done she loves going on the outings. Most important her medication is back to normal many thanks to the nursing department (Liz and Christine). I am now moving another family member in. I cant thank this facility enough for the attention to detail and their amazing communication.

My mother has lived here for over 2 years. The care and friendships there are above the top. The establishment is like living in a top notch hotel. The staff feels like family.

Everything about Oakmont is good. Everyone is friendly. I would say if you can afford it, this is the place for your loved one.

I only toured this facility and it was very impressive. It is expensive but like they say you get what you pay for. I love the fact that they serve food in the dining room ALL day. So if you are a late sleeper or you were napping you still will be able to eat. This is the only facility I have toured that has this feature which I think is awesome. Especially since my dad loses track of time and has missed a meal or two where he currently is. They have a waiting list and this facility is one of my top choices at this time.

Everything seems to be really good. The price was really good, and they have a program that was able to help. Terri did a great job, helping the transition go so smoothly. I would give them a five, they did a great job.

Our family loves Oakmont! Daddy is well cared for and happy! His room is always clean and tidy. The care providers are kind and competent! The staff in charge of the areas or various activities are well-educated, professional, interested, and kind. Everyone from Kevin, in charge of Oakmont, to Mike who is in charge of the landscaping. The feeling is one of a family! The atmosphere is happy, bright, and humming with activity! Ice cream, movies, games, Happy Hours with music, Art Hop, community resource support (i.e. Alzheimer's Support Group), Salon, transportation, gym, pets, special diets, holiday celebrations, scheduled family get-togethers. A concierge M.D. is offered along with an on-site RN with LVN support staff 24/7. I am in and out all the time and care is consistent and excellent.

The Sunrise staff has been wonderful! Each department head has been very efficient in seeing that all my mom's needs are met. Everyone we have met has been friendly & extremely helpful.

All the staff went out of their way to be very helpful and always friendly. They all work extremely hard, and deserve a lot of credit for a difficult job.

My mother's stay at Sunrise was great. We are very pleased with everything they did for her. They did everything they were suppose to do, and they were wonderful and compassionate to my mother and her needs. The level of care was right for her at the moment, and she did a great turn around and recovered quickly with the help from the staff. It was a positive experience for us and I would recommend this community.

My parents are now residents at Sunrise of Huntington Beach...the friendliest place in town. I am so thankful for the sincere care and kindness that they are receiving now, at this time in their life. It is a beautiful place which exudes happiness. The meals are great, and I believe in just one week, the personalized treatment has made them healthier. Thank you, Sunrise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Facility is newer with very nice rooms dining and courtyard areas. Ample guest parking. Lots of choices of activities for residents

Fabulous property! The care and thoughtfulness of everyone at Oakmont is priceless. My parents are so happy and well-cared for. I can't say enough about the facility grounds: so clean, bright, and cheerful. I hope someday when I decide to move into a retirement home, that Oakmont is still here for me!

My mother and father in law are in Oakmont. It is the most wonderful place ever, everybody's there to help, food is great, service is great, and most of all the people are great. Thank you Oakmont for all your help!

The facility is done very well with the assisted living on the first floor and the two communities that deal with dementia on the second floor. All personnel were very kind and considerate generating a warm feeling for all of the guests. The house dog is a wonderful addition that everyone seems to enjoy. The meals are well done and many activities are available for all to enjoy.

Atria Bayside Landing was wonderful! The whole family thought so. My Aunt got to pick her own room out of three available, she was in a studio and it was the perfect size. She was very happy with it and loved it. She was able to have the afternoon sun come in the windows. She had a good feeling about where she was and the other residents were so friendly and would come up and introduce themselves, everyone was on a first name basis. It felt like home. My Aunt was very picky and she was pleasantly happy there. The staff was exemplary! Very friendly and accommodating from the first time we went on the tour of the community. They would go out of their way to check on my aunt and make sure she was happy, to see if she wanted to go outside to the courtyard, since she was wheelchair bound. We were thrilled to see that there was a person who handled the activities, had a schedule of the upcoming activities, there was a variety, lectures, discussions. That doesn't happen with many places. ANd they would also let her brother participate and play poker as well. They had good food choices. I can see myself moving there in the future. Unfortunately, my ant was only there a short time before she passed. I would recommend the security lock box be down lower for those in a wheelchair. Also if they were to add a skilled nursing unit that would be great. My aunt had been somewhere else before Atria Bayside and the other place was twice as much money and not nearly as nice or as many activities and they did not have their priorities right.

Both my Mom and my Dad are at Sunrise of Bonita and they are doing fabulous there! Everything is great. I highly recommend this community. My parents say the food is great. The attention from the staff is fabulous, they are really nice. It feels like home there, everyone is like family. My parents are reluctant with acitivies, they have not ventured to participate yet but maybe with time.
