PERFECTLY suited for every need. Very comfortable from the parking, entry walkway, glassed in sunroom entry, living area with large fireplace, activity area, front desk, dining room, conference room and most of all the lovely shared hospice room which is actually a separate room sharing a small living room entry. Beautiful garden outside the window making it a wonderful ambiance. We decided on the spot that it was the perfect home for our Dad to be since we can't care for him at home. He will be 101 years old in ten days and we will be moving him to this beautiful community after his birthday. Perfect timing for our tours.

All of my expectations are being met here at Hawaii Kai. The people here from the administration to the kitchen crew to the maintenance workers have been courteous and quick to solve any issues I might have. They have so much variety here in regard to food as well. I was surprised that they only offer plain yogurt, but otherwise, they offer several options at mealtimes, and are more than willing to accommodate special dietary needs. I'm still new, so I have not been able to participate in any activities yet, but they have various games and exercise classes here, among other things that I would like to join in once I have then chance. I think the single most wonderful quality of this community is its spaciousness. My studio is on the first floor, and I love being able to come right out onto the walking paths they have. It's really an expansive community in many ways, and I would recommend it to other families.

In the past year I have visited friends who live here and have always been impressed with the friendliness of the staff. As a result I subsequently booked dinner for six nonresidents in a private dining room. The atmosphere was luxurious, the food was delicious, and service was very attentive. Even the chief came by to explain the courses. A very nice experience throughout!

Wonderful! Everything was clean, bright and inviting. [Removed] was a joy to talk to. The one bedroom was perfect. I'm hoping to have my Mom see it soon.

Our family has first hand experience with placing 2 grandmothers in local facilities and touring more than 8. Sunrise of Sabre Springs is by far the best. Brand new in mid 2017, the facility was designed to be state-of-the-art in terms of access, convenience, safety, and a very warm environment. The staff is competent, engaged, welcoming, friendly, and constantly striving to meet my mother's needs. My mother loves the staff and the non-obtrusive way they conduct themselves. After having 6 months to judge the Sunrise experience, I now understand that even more importantly than the staff are the residents and the "friends" relationships that are fostered and created between the residents. Sunrise residents are not complainers. They want to be engaged in active discussions and activities, which Sunrise provides. Here are a few of the services (you never think about) I have come to rely on: 1. Monthly status calls reviewing my mother's physical, mental, and social well being. 2. Computer records of every medication she takes - date, time, who administered, etc. 3. Immediate calls to her physician if she is in need, with a follow on call to me 24x7. 4. Meals delivered to her room if she is not feeling well, or just plain tired. 5. Complete administration of every medication (she has 11 meds) from working with the doctor on a prescription to ordering refills when needed. I could go on but I think you get the picture. Sunrise has done a great job. 5-stars! Regarding the cost, we did find Sunrise to be 0-20% more expensive than 5 of the other facilities we toured, and 10-20% cheaper than 3 of the facilities we toured. They do have a "move in fee," but so did many of the other facilities we toured. Key word is negotiate, and you do get what you pay for especially when it comes to trained staff. Costs are a function of the size of the apartment you want, the frequency / level of services you need, and the number of medications you need to have administered. We found them to be reasonable.

I found the facility very clean and nice, I would be happy to have my loved one there except for the costs!

So far this one is the best we saw but they are not open yet and that means we were not able to meet staff, residents etc.... The grounds are nice, and new and it seems like it will be great. They were the most accommodating to allow dad to have a fridge and microwave in his room where most were hesitant. The price is a average but a lot is waived due to the newness of the place. As of today this is the leader but there are 4 more tomorrow.

Liked it very much nice staff

This is a really nice place, very professional, and the staff seem to be on top of things. The rooms are private and very nice. Residents were having lunch and looked happy and content. I would have liked this for my family member but the location was a bit far from our family.

We enjoyed a fantastic thanksgiving dinner accompanied by a piano serenade. Everything was perfect. Delicious food, beautiful decoration, family pictures. What more could we have asked for! Thank you Oakmont Carmichael community.

My Mother-in-law has been here since October with intermittent stays. Everybody here has been very nice, they’re all very helpful, and I think they’re managing her situation pretty well. Her memory has been going downhill and they’ve been working with her the best they can. Her best friend of 30 years lives there as well and that’s part of why we chose the place, so they could be together. Her friend seems to be very happy there. They have a really good variety of food but she’s been having trouble eating. They’ve been able to accommodate her with her inability to eat large amounts of food and they’ll make her smaller amounts that are more manageable. They seem to try hard to make sure she’s comfortable. There are plenty of activities to do like card games, exercise, and bingo. There’s also a knitting group. As far as the rent is concerned, there's a flat fee for the room, but there are extra charges for getting help with showers, medication, and any additional care that she needs.

This place was beautiful! Unfortunately, it was just too much for my dad. I knew he was going to need more help than they would be able to give. This place is more for someone that’s more able bodied. The building went around in sort of a circle. The studio that I looked at was very large and had an attached bathroom and a small kitchenette. I didn’t get to try the food but I met the chef and he had been a chef in San Francisco; I was told several times that the food was excellent. The price of everything was more expensive than most of the other places that I looked at. But it’s also brand new. It’d be a great place to go if you were really healthy.

The staff here seems to care and they are friendly. While touring the facility it had a better vibe compared to other places that I have seen. It just had a brighter atmosphere which made me feel comfortable. They do a great job with cleanliness too. I have been there numerous times and every time everything looks spic and span. I ate lunch there one time while I was touring other places and it was pretty good too. As for activities they offer exercises that cater to different level of mobility, they screen movies, pizza parties, and they have musicians and others to come in to entertain the residents. I recommend this community to other families.

This place has a great staff that are friendly and respectful. They have many activities for mind and body. They have studios with a patio for my dad's dog. Dogs were truly welcomed and a positive part of the community. They greeted people by name. [Removed] was super helpful and engage my dad. Residents were alert and social at lunch.

My tour was good. But was very tired looking and very small. It was really awful smelling though. My mom couldn't be comfortable here.

We went on a tour and were about to move my parents here and then my dad passed and my mom wanted to stay where she was. But this community was beautiful the people were great. It was a good experience. They answered all of my questions. They had an amazing care levels there.

Liked the people and facility. Good choice on room options and reasonably priced.

Fabulous facility! The facility, the rooms, the common areas were beautiful. The residents were happy. I was there during lunch and the food looked and smelled delicious.

Sunrise of Sacramento is unreal. It is a beautiful place, and the staff is really friendly, helpful, attentive, and they took great care of my mom. There was someone there to hang pictures when she moved in, and they were very accommodating for my wife and me when we came to stay, making sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. [Removed], the manager, was excellent and cheerful. She really helped lighten the mood and make such a stressful situation little easier on us. I feel so lucky that they had a room available and that my mother passed away there with comfort and with dignity. Sunrise is outstanding, and I would recommend the community to everyone.
