They're willing to take questions and there's always activities going on. What we liked about Emeritus from the very beginning is my mother-in-law is from Connecticut and Emeritus has sister communities all over so someone from Emeritus in Connecticut was able to evaluate her there. Right off the airplane we were able to go and settle her in with out having that transition of going from my house to Emeritus and having to explain why she can't live with us. It was just much easier for all of us. So far we really like them. They're small enough that she doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Their cottages are smaller. It's not one huge big thing so they kind of get individual care in that sense. Anytime we have a question I am comfortable with asking them. They're very open. She has a bedroom there. There is no kitchenette so she has to get out and socialize. She can't lock herself up in her room.

The memory care is very good. I really must say everything is very good. They have been helpful. We have been family members that have been difficult and were not happy with certain things and have taken my mother-in-law out for her birthday. They took her out overnight which was not good because she really just wanted to go home after that. They arranged a meeting among family members and explained why it was not good for her to be out over night at this point. There were very helpful in that I would say. Overall they try extremely hard to please everyone and they take good care of my mother-in-law.

To date our loved one appears to be quite content in their new home; it is a good fit. Staff is pleasant and courteous.

For both: The Grandview was smaller and more intimate than the Gardens in SM. Crystal gave us the tour, and she was wonderful! Kind, caring, and knowledgeable. The place seemed clean and the residents seemed well cared for. The one bedroom apartment seemed a little small-ish, but the resident had a lot of furniture. The two-bedroom was lovely and spacious.

I've never seen it dirty anywhere. I've only talked to them on the phone. I haven't talked to them in person because I was really busy with my mom when I was there. My mom is doing fine there. She loves it. They meet my mom's major needs: they have decent food and they take them to the casino regularly.

They offered three meals a day for independent living and my mom was not interested in that. She was interested in having a full kitchen and being able to cook on her own a bit. They had small units with only partial kitchens.

We weren't crazy about the outdoor area there and the size of the rooms but he people were very nice. My parents like to sit outside quite a bit so the outdoor area was important. Other than that it seemed like a really nicely run place.

I only toured but on the surface that looked pretty good. I think it's only about 10 or 12 years old, the building itself. It had a gym and a swimming pool. It was a bigger complex, all under one roof. I think they had two dining areas. This probably would have been our second choice. There's more people here and that might have been better for my wife to have more people around to distract her.

I appreciated the way the administration worked with us to get in. I though that went smoothly. I didn't really have any complaints there and they were generous on the move in fee so we were grateful for that. When you're parent's there you want it all to be a five. The care was fine. I don't know that they didn't do all that they could. They certainly tried to anything we requested. They did two hour checks. My dad requires a lot of spiritual attention and that was not quite their thing. I would recommend it for most people. They didn't do anything wrong. They were nice and worked with us. I think our situation was different, being Christian Scientists but they were certainly caring. There were no major issues. The room was very nice. In terms of getting a hold of one of the caregivers, the only my dad could do that would be to go to the bathroom and hit the button so that's not really convenient.

I thought it was very lovely but they layout would have been too confusing for my sister-in-law to deal with. It was a beautiful place and the people were really nice. The apartment wasn't as nice and the layout wasn't very self contained - not like the other Vintage location, Vintage Coventry.

My neighbor lives here and it's very nice too. That's expensive though. My neighbor needs help, she uses a walker and they do a lot for her. My father didn't need that kind of care so he could pay a little less at another place. It's a little bit small. The place is not very spacious, not like where my father is. I visit my neighbor pretty often but I've never eaten there. The staff seems good. They're very very nice. I don't' deal with them that much but she seem to really like them. She loves it there.

I'm on their waiting list and I've put down a deposit. All of this happened in July and unfortunately, for now, I'm still in limbo. Nothing has happened yet. I chose Oakmont because I liked it and I liked it because it was very well run. it was very clean. There was a nice atmosphere about it and it seemed like a place that I could see myself living. It's was not one of these places with the walking dead walking up and down the halls.

I'm moving my wife from there. It has nothing to do with sunrise. I just feel it's a good move for her. Sunrise was okay. I didn't have any problems with them. The thing I didn't like was if you took your wife our for a walk around the property there is no sidewalks and lot so traffic going up and down.

I think they could do better activities and I think the need more staff to manage the people in the Alzheimer's unit. Every time I go over there, there never seems to be enough people to manage the residents. My mom is there and we chose it because it's a locked, secure facility. We needed that because she was exit-seeking.

That one probably would have been our second choice. It was very consistent and very memory focused. Their suites aren't as private as I would like the to be for mom's current condition but they were very clean.

It's a very nice place. It's assisted living. I didn't go to the memory care because basically it was too big for mom so it just didn't work out. I think for people who are pretty independent probably it would have been fine but it just wasn't right for mom. She couldn't get enough personal attention.

It's working out good. My mom's there and she's just moved in and is trying to get settled. So far it's going well. She was getting a little bit swollen because she was eating too much salt so we're trying to get a low salt diet set up. It's been taking a little while. They're not quite on the ball with that. My mom has asked for a bowl of fruit with breakfast and sometimes it never comes. I've been there when it takes them a really long time to get things. So it doesn't seem 100% organized but everyone's very friendly and willing. I talked to them and it turns out we need something from the doctor in writing to get the low salt diet which we were never told. We're getting it worked out. it's not the end of the world.

Visited on September 19. The location may be a bit far from my two sons who live and work in Los Angeles. The facility and grounds were attractive and inviting. Staff and residents were friendly and seemed to be content. Two doctors make routine visits to facility.

The apartments here were bigger than Seville's but the fit wasn't right. We're Jewish and they didn't have Friday night service and the location wasn't as great for us. The apartments were gigantic by the way, it's not a walk in closet (which is what she wanted) but the apartments are huge.

I really like this place. I think Mom would to. They don't have openings for a double room but Laura will let me know when one is available.
