This facility is the closest to what my mother currently has in Arizona. The appartments are a bit smaller, but are similar in set-up to what she currently has and the meals although a bit more limiting are still adequate. Overall tihs facility is the closest to what my mother currently has and since she still has memory and thought factulties that allow her to still understand her surroungsings and living conditions most of the time it would be the easiest for her to accept. Overall compared to what she has today this is more of a 4.2 to 4.5 rated facility.

Very friendly staff with longevity. Met a couple who had been there 10+ yrs. Good location. Toured twice. Same good feelings both times. Didn't like that assisted living ate independent the first time but on second tour the dining area was set up and it did look very inviting.

I had a very nice tour of Sunrise. They showed me all areas, sample rooms, recreation, dining and snack rooms. The residents and staff were not overly friendly. All areas were clean and well maintained. I did not see food being served, but the coffee at the front desk was excellent. I did observe several activities in progress. They seemed well attended. We discussed pricing and availability of rooms. The ala carte pricing does make it a bit harder to compare prices with other facilities. However, you might come up with cheaper price in the long run (not paying for something you do not need).
