I've never heard anybody there say no to anything so the care is very good. My father is annoyed with the activities. He feels like he's playing games with children. The games are so basic a 5 year old could them so it's not stimulating for him. I think it makes him stay in his room more. He's not a demanding man but he's stopped going to any of the activities because he just doesn't get anything out of them. He's in a scooter all the time so it's not like he can go and do something else on his own. They had bingo and wii bowling at the last place and he liked that. The staff is very caring and my parents are being well cared for.

Beautiful community... large, bright, well appointed apartments. Less personal than Atria... Does not provide as many'assistance'resources as Atria.

My father-in-law preferred this area to the sutton as he lives in Del Webb currently and the neighborhood is familiar to him. He also liked the accommodations and is looking forward to moving in.

Nice assisted Living facility. meal plan.

The Sunrise is luxurious and beautiful but very expensive. It pretty and new and the people there are very nice and friendly but I think that any place that wants a great deal of money from you is going to be nice to you. That part bugs me. I toured so I can't remember what the activities were like and I don't have any experience with the care since my dad didn't stay there.

M (potential resident) felt that Sunrise felt like a nursing home. I like it and loved the location.

We really liked this community and were very pleased with it up until 2013. It seems like they are having a lot of internal turmoil and issues with staff. They did not have a nurse for a couple of month and also lacked other positions as well. The community itself is really good but just seems to be too many internal issues this year.

It is a great community that is very clean and very well taken care of. This was one of our top two but the only reason we did not choose it was because the other community offered a better price. The community is a secure community and overall is actually a really great community.

We chose this community because it is smaller then others so it provides a more one on one care for my parents. The staff is great and the community is very nice. The offered to take my mom into the memory care unit during the day so if she needed to move there she would be more comfortable doing so. We are very pleased with Sunrise and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a nice community.

Sunrise is a very impressive community that was filled with very friendly staff. The food is really good with a good variety. The management has developed a new plan of care which is equally as impressive as the community.

My dad has been there about three weeks now. The other residents have been friendly and welcoming. The activities are great, just at his level. They bake fresh cookies every day! And they have access to a community pool one long block away. We have gone there once with Dad, and we know where we are going to be spending much of our summer vacation -- right there! The living arrangement is different than other places we saw. My dad has one bedroom of a two-bedroom "suite." Another man is in the other bedroom, and they share a common sitting area, small kitchenette space and bathroom. This appears to be a great arrangement, because the other resident is able to help my dad find his way around the place and remind him when things are happening, and there is someone to talk to when they want to, yet they both have their privacy in their own bedrooms.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. Will see if I can get my mom there Monday to see what she thinks.

Michaela was fantastic! Mom really liked her - maybe 3rd place of all we met - and really everyone we met was superb in different ways. Beautiful space, loved almost everything about it but maybe too far away from SF for ease of visits to Mom. Seemed to be the biggest one we saw, large hallways, POOL!!, amazing courtyard spaces. Really well done. Nice that it's privately owned. Keeping this as an option though not ideal...but we get that sacrifices will need to be made in one direction or another.

Too Expensive

This is like a cruise ship! Mary was so easy to work with. A little too expensive right now and located to far South Orange county.

Does needs assessment of new residents. Facility has resident pet which mom would love. Has shared suites for reduced charge.

Facility looks like a nice house rather than eldercare facility. Located on a busy cross-street (Jefferson Blvd). Facility is clean; layout is good; residents are well-groomed, but not very engaged in activities; staff is friendly (all staff wear street clothes for normalcy). Monthly fees start about $8,000 (memory care) with $3,500 one time fee (refundable within 90 days). 79 units including 43 memory rooms. Microwave & toaster allowed in assisted living rooms, but not memory rooms.

Met with Deanna Mandish (Director of Sales) on 4/10 at 3pm to tour facility. This facility is the farthest from home (near Leslie). Facility looks like a nice house rather than eldercare facility. My mother has been a resident for approximately 3 years. Due to special dietary and health issues, she has her meals in her room. We constantly have to work with the staff to get her orders right and on time. However, on the plus side the caregivers (shower assist) and housekeeping staff are very nice. Mom calls them friends and there seems to be minimal turnover. Being "apartment bound" it is nice to have this friendly contact for her. We have gotten to know some of the residents as well, they all seem to be well cared for and most are friendly.
