Oak Park Place

This is a beautiful facility. New, well maintained, all-inclusive price. It is the most expensive of the places we toured so far.

[Removed] was very thorough and answered our questions. The facility was very safe, clean, bright, and positive. On the tour, we met about 8 or 9 residents who were obviously happy & content living there - one gal even said with a smile, “you’re going to love it here!”

Our experience at Oak Park Place has been great. The people there seem very happy, and the staff go out of their way to make everyone's stay as comfortable as they can. The food is good. I find that they do repeat some meals, but there's generally a good variety throughout the week. They offer a lot of activities in the community as well, and residents can keep track of the schedule on the calendars displayed throughout the community. Overall, I would recommend Oak Park Place to others.

This is a very well managed facility and everyone here is just so helpful and friendly. I know my Aunt can sometimes be challenging but the staff members handle it very well and they do the best they can. For activities, they offer things like crafts, concerts, and speakers who come in. The only thing they could do better is with the visitor parking. Unfortunately, you have to park in the street and in the winter time…it’s not an easy thing to do. I would recommend this facility to other families.

We like the care from this community for the excellent care that my mom is getting from the great staff. The menu is listed each day and they offer good meals and nice snacks. Actives have been very helpful for and she seems to enjoy with the other residents. We would recommend this community for other families for the good care of a loved one.

My grandparents are doing wonderful. I appreciate A Place For Mom helping us get them into the community. I love the staff, they call me daily to tell me what they did and how they are doing. My grandparents are enjoying the meals they eat and they enjoy meeting the residents.

Very impressive facility, caring staff, clean, focus on my mom. So far, looks like a good decision and a nice fit.

The staff at this community are encouraging, attentive and a great group of people. My loved one is making friends and he enjoys some of the daily activities. They keep the community clean. He likes the food and he has a nice size room. This community is in a good location and I would recommend it.

My father was having some trouble adjusting to the community so we moved my mother in as well. The place has been wonderful to both of them. The care givers there unbelievable they get my father to laugh and they keep him going. The room he is in is comfortable and the apartment my mother is in is beautiful. She has a huge bedroom. I had a meal there not too long ago for lunch, it was just a sandwich but it was very tasty. They recently got a new cook, [Removed], and he is amazing. It sure always smells good in the dining room when he's cooking.

There are very few activities offered to the residents it would be nice if they could add more. The meals are good and the environment is gorgeous. I really like that the director is attentive and very professional. The layout of the community is more suited for someone who is more independent. The interaction of the staff is very limited to the residents. The cleanliness of the place is exceptional.

I do not have a loved one at Oak Park, per se, but there's many residents I've gotten to know and love, and I care about! My husband is a preacher, and he's been holding services at Oak Oark for about 8 years. I accompany him and try to be a blessing. I, myself, am a professional caretaker and I worked at a nursing home facility (not associated with this facility in any way) and through the years I've had loved ones in a variety of nursing facilities so I am well acquainted with nursing homes and the issues. I also listen to the residents and have observed. No facility is perfect but if the time comes I can no longer take care of my mom (my best friend) this is where I would place her if possible. Oak Park has annual appreciation dinners for volunteers and during those times the food has been good, otherwise I cannot say about the food. But I have visited residents in different sections, and in each instance the areas have been reasonably clean, and I have very high standards for cleanliness. The staff has always been super professional very friendly and accommodating. Not just to me, but I observe the interactions between residents and staff. Having visited the facility for years, I've seen a few challenging situations for staff (residents being difficult) and the staff's response has always been exemplary. The facilities are really lovely, but it's not just pretty where visitors see, it's really nice all over the facility from the places I've seen. I've visited most if not all sections and spent time with residents not only in the main halls but visited in their rooms as well. But I love how many activities they have going on all the time! Stuff I would do, not just Friday night bingo or old movie night. They really have some neat stuff. I think they really try to do things that not only help the residents such as games that could help memory etc., but fun stuff. Baking cookies, playing inside mini golf, and doing fun art...some out if the box stuff that looks fun to me. I am close to a few residents, I love them like family and I listen to their concerns and pray with them etc., I have yet to hear a truly derogatory comment about Oak Park. Once one resident didn't care for a staff member personally, there was no issue she just didn't care for her personality but the staff member hadn't done anything wrong. My honest opinion about that was the resident was being a little picky. The resident said that...That's all, in several years. That's pretty astounding. Having worked in the industry and having family in different facilities, I can say that is definitely not the norm. I honestly believe that this facility does it's best at employing quality individuals who demonstrate ability AND concern. The staff members I've observed and interacted with are professional, friendly, and are genuinely caring individuals. Again, I would send my mom there, (or any other loved one, I would go myself. )

We were very pleased with Oak Park Place Madison. I just think they gave him excellent care. The staff watched over him really well. We were so very happy with everything at this facility. I am so grateful for the way everything went.

They have been really great, they really have. My loved one is not the easiest person, and they have been great! I would give them a five at this point. We have been really happy with them.

The people are very friendly. The food is very good as well. The kitchen staff is very helpful when talking about the menu. My parents will be very happy here. The staff at the front desk are always happy to answer any questions you may have. I couldn't have asked for a better community. We visited several facilities and this is the one we chose. It's a great place. We are very, very pleased with everything.

My Mother is in Memory Care here. I can sleep well at night knowing she is good hands! I have witnessed the care and love from the hard working staff! I would recommend this place to anyone!!

We've had a good experience with Oak Park Place so far! The facility itself is nice looking, clean, and well kept, and the staff have all been very friendly and helpful. They really went out of their way to help her get situated and settled in, which I really appreciate. They are an assisted living community, but they have no problem helping out with some minor memory care needs, like reminding her to brush her teeth, etc. It's a very nice place, and I would recommend them!

My great aunt moved to Oak Park Place in November. The staff is very kind and caring. I go to visit her about 3 times a week. She is always well groomed and room clean. It feels like a home. Less institutional compared to where she was before. The residents are a joy and the staff very attentive. It is small and they don't have a nurse 24 hrs. But one that is available on call.

We toured this community when we were looking into senior living options for a loved one. It was fabulous! It is a very very nice looking place. It has everything that my father would be looking for!

Mom has a comfortable apt. with large windows so she can see what is going on around her. She is very well taken care of which gives me peace of mind. She enjoys the meals and the caregivers take the time to know what she likes and doesn't like. It is a beautiful facility with an outdoor patio and covered balconies on each floor with tables and chairs for resident use. There are lots of activities for those who need help and games and puzzles for use at anytime. We are very happy with Oak Park Place and very greatfull for A Place for MOM.
