I spoke with this facility/met with them virtually. Wasn't the best fit for us. They also don't work with VA benefits. We decided to keep looking.

Overall, they're good. My loved one is happy. But there has been a little bit of an issue with the care and medical side that I'm unhappy with - specifically poor communication from the nurse.

We toured Pacifica Senior Living Woodmont, and we didn't care for it. The building itself looked like a renovated motel, and aesthetically, it just didn't look good.

We had some issue with the community. At first we were excited that my loved one was going to be there. My loved one ended up falling multiple times during the stay. The community did assist the family with hospice. They don't have enough staff, and this was challenging to us. My loved one was never in their own clothes, and my loved one's jewelry went missing during their time at the community. After my loved one passed the community never expressed their condolences to the family and this was discouraging to us.

This community was okay but it was not what we wanted for my loved one. There was another community that just worked out better for what my loved one needed.

I toured this property a while back; but it came between Paintbrush and another community. Overall it boiled down to size and availability.

The rooms at the community are spacious, but we moved our father because we did not think he was getting the proper nutrition and care he needed on the memory care side. We do not think the memory care side was as good as the other side.

Our experience was negative, our loved one became dehydrated and fell and broke his hip. Because of the dehydration it resulted in him being moved to memory care where he had to be reminded to drink his water.

Overall we were pretty happy with it, but at the end they left a pretty bad taste in our mouth. Our loved one passed away back in February, and after her funeral they closed the entire state down due to COVID. This community wanted us to pay for the last month of service, but since everything was shut down we were not able to access the bank in order to pay them. Under those circumstances we wish they were more understanding and accommodating.

I was able to book a tour through website and [name removed] sent me an email but she does not work weekends. Also I have sites and this one had a stronger order. The front staff was very friendly but not for me

This is a gorgeous place. Very, very nice. Everything you would want for your loved one. BUT! My mother needed care, she was on hospice and they assured me up and down that she would get attention. But there are two girls for 60 rooms. Office said that's not true the several aides told me that and even hospice could never get anyone to help. You would ring and someone comes in 30 minutes, so you go in your pants. Trash cans and papers were over following. Unfortunately mom only lasted 9 days. And the day she past away was horrible. Found her early morning with a dish pan under her chin and she was throwing up dark green bile. She was out of it, just gagging, didn't even know I was there. I had to call hospice. No one called me. That is how mom past. Alone and scared. Not a place if your ill. They could care less. This was the worst 9 days of my mothers 95 yr old life. Do not let them talk you into staying there if mom needs help. The aides could care less.

At first, the activities, as well as the appearance was extremely appealing to me for my mother. She was admitted mid-May 2018. After time, I noticed numerous changes in staff, including the activities director. My mother and staff always have had positive interactions - to my knowledge and observation. An outbreak of scabies occurred this summer. I expressed my concern about co-mingling of clothing and linens to be laundered and the possibility of transmission, as I had found my mother wearing another's clothes and someone else's bedding on her bed. I subsequently labeled all my mother's clothing and linens. Several weeks after treatment and assurances that the epidemic was gone, my mother began scratching. I immediately, consulted with the nursing staff and I was told that the scabies was not eradicated and that all the residents would need to undergo treatment simultaneously again. Treatment includes a topical application of permethrin - head to toe - and ivermectin. These are very potent drugs (insecticides) and repeated doses are problematic, from my point of view. These are elderly people whose systems not only have to metabolize their own medications, but also very potent medications for treatment of scabies. Yet, I have still found other's clothing in my mother's room. I brought this immediately to the attention of the new Exec Director and I have high hopes that many changes will be forthcoming. Somerford is a very nicely arranged living situation with garden, patio, walkways, and activities room. Most of the staff have always been friendly and they love my mother. I which them success in making necessary changes!

The place seemed nice but for a place that said residents had free run of the place the alarms on the doors when off everytime we went outside during the tour. I wondered if they brought residents back inside if they tried to go outside. The laundry girl was unsure how often they did laundry and the room cleaner was unsure how many rooms there were to clean. Made me wonder if she cleaned them that often. A lot of staff but few with the residents. Most were congregating with each other. Model room was smelly.

The staff here did what they should have in the care of my friend. It was also a very clean facility and saw nothing wrong with it. The only problems I had was the fact they were not that cooperative and accommodating. There were a few times that I needed help and I spoke with the front desk and they bounced me from person to person. They just didn't seem to want to help me. Also, the food was not top rate by any means and it was just institutionalized food. I would not recommend this facility as highly as other places.

When we first pulled up to the facility, we immediately ruled it out for my Father. My sister said that it was not an acceptable place to bring him. The grounds weren’t top notch at all. There were a lot of parts to the building that really needed paint. It just wasn’t up to par with our standards. The other thing we did not like is that it wasn’t all contained within one building. You actually had to go outside and walk if you wanted to go to activities. My dad isn’t very mobile and trying to get him up and moving, then go outside in 100-degree weather just wasn’t going to happen. I would not recommend this community.

My family is happy to know that I'm content. Here at Woodmont, where I've been sent It's such a blessing you see to have someone else take care of me. The staff and employees here are kind, helpful and dedicated. Sometimes I'm disappointed that there is not more interest shown in my favorite activities. They do their best to take care of our needs.

Building needs a make over. New paint and carpet. Spice of the memory care unit. Music played throughout the building would help increase residents participation in group activities.

I only visited this community for a short time and the room I saw looked a little dark and dingy. The person that showed me the room was nice and knowledgable. This room would not work for my loved one.
