I would recommend it to others just not a great fit for my mom

We felt that name removed] was not being watched carefully enough. He fell multiple times and he never recovered from the last one. So, it's hard to give a positive score with that on my mind. The food was very good, and the grounds were very nice but they are possibly understaffed. Would not recommend, as we feel they are understaffed. One more piece of info, I gave a low-ish score for activities, but I would say for women they were plentiful, but for men, not so much.

Sorry once again not much to tell you especially after my wife passed away 4 days after we got into the facility. But in general place was clean the staff was friendly. 4 days can I give you much of an opinion not much time to judge.

My mom's toilet was very clean. My mom had an accident someone changed her . I found a wet shoe in her room. Didn't think much about it . Until I used her bathroom . I didn't see the giant puddle in there until I had gone in and tracked it back into my mom's room . I told the staff . They came in with a sheet to mop it up. This was a puddle of pee. They didn't use and disinfectant or anything. Inside of toilet had scum ring in it . Look like it has been a month since it was last scrubbed. I don't blame the workers they were busy. But the could have had a janitor or someone that dealt with these things

The facility is old and could use an upgrade. The dining area is in a separate building. There is a covered walkway. However, everything should be in one bldg. They also needed to do a better assessment on what my Mom needed rather than telling her to pull the string to the call button when she needed something.

Ocean Hills was brand new when she moved in and the startup was very rocky. Some things still are not very good especially maintenance type activities and food service.

Well maintained facility. The outdoor lounging areas could benefit from upgrading. Management could improve its communication to residents. Currently, communication is ok but often the larger concerns aren't given consideration. For example issues having to do with long term such as remodeling, plans about future activities such as celebration of established national holidays, group travel, speakers events, educational events, cooking, gardening.

The staff was great. I do feel like they mislead you when placing someone in the facility. I feel like the director should know more about what is going on. [name removed] were all so nice. However I don't think they have enough staff for the people in each cottage.

They are very nice and the facility is very clean. They are limited in the activities and engagement of residence who are on the milder/ moderate scale of dementia who could benefit from activities. Was led to believe that there were outings, etc. but it is very inconsistent.

Lots of staff turnover. There are rarely activities. Food is good. I've been fortunate to have an excellent caregiver on my husband's unit 5 of the 7 days. Med techs are good and helpful.Rarely see the administrator. Marketing Director is fantastic. She is actively involved with staff and residents.

Everyone is very kind and approachable. Excellent customer service! I just don't feel that prompt communication is made when necessary regarding concerns that the facility is aware of with my loved one. It's not until I became aware of it myself firsthand and address it to management. Then I was provided an explanation that I should have been notified a whole lot sooner. Otherwise, the activities director [name removed] is absolutely amazing with the residents, whom adore her. Cleanliness of lobby and social areas is kept very clean.

What I really like about this facility is the small size and the friendliness of everyone there. Every one is accessible to ask questions and take suggestions in the care of my husband as well as others. I did have a suggestion about food: make it accessible without instruments, as my loved one has forgotten how to use them. He either needs to be fed and or needs items cut into bite size pieces. Housekeeping is not perfect, but okay. The food is pretty good, balanced and plentiful. They try. I recommend the facility to others. It is comfortable, not palatial.

Information was withheld when we were placing my mom. We were told with a dementia diagnosis my mom could only live in memory care in California senior living communities. This information is not accurate. Palm Vista is not equipped to house dementia residents in assisted living however, there senior living facilities that are equipped to serve a resident with dementia in their assisted living facility. We would not have entered my mom into the Palm Vista community had we known that the information given was inaccurate and misleading.

The main issue is they oversold on memory care and didn't have enough staff to care for my mom.. the staff that was there was great, but there was just not enough of them. She was never taken to activities. We were told she could stay until the end of life, but they didn't have the staffing for it. Part of the problem I think it it was a newly opened ward. Other than that it was fine.

My loved one is currently a resident at The Gardens of Sun City. I'm moving my loved one to a new facility soon. Suggestions: Make sure they are telling the truth. They seem to tell you what you want to hear and that's not the reality. Staffing is always an issue. They try their best, but some are better than others. Also, have more staff on the unit. There is not always enough staff. They also had dirty windows, cob webs hanging from the ceiling, and recessed lights that didn't work. I've had to complain to get these things done. I would not recommend Memory Care at this facility to others.

Really do your homework and ask as many questions as possible before selecting Pacifica Merced. The staff are friendly, but the care is lacking. And I don't think it's' worth what we're paying.

My loved one does not really like the food. They were very helpful with getting my loved one placed within the community. Overall, they could improve on the quality food.

They made one big mistake when my mom moved from one room to another and didn't update all the files for her emergency button . She fell at 3:30 in the morning and when she pushed the button they went to her old room . She ended up laying on the floor and bleeding from a couple of big scrapes for over 30 minutes. She ended up calling me and I met the staff in the hallway and told them where she was. [Named Removed] the director is really sweet though and has tried to compensate for that.

The biggest issue for me is the short staff on normal days a week. Getting the kitchen open in 13 building would be very helpful
