We used Powell Valley Assisted Living for a brief respite stay for my loved one, and overall I think they did a great job. It's a nice looking, clean facility, and the staff were all very friendly. They did a great job making her feel welcome and introducing her to the community. It's a very nice place!

It going really good, we are really happy. She is going to activities, and doing so much more there. I am just ecstatic about it. The people there, the staff, are super, super nice and sweet. They do little things like when they are taking her to lunch or breakfast, they will fluff her hair up, and my mom just loves the girl that does that. The food is not bad here, it's good or better. They even have a happy hour on Fridays, and they serve beer and wine, and they will have a couple of glasses and it's quite good. They play music on Fridays. It just really is good. She can walk out to the courtyard, and her walking is getting better. It's very clean, and they take good care of the place they are always working on the grounds. They are pretty easy to talk to. It really has gone well for us, I would recommend them.

I really liked this place. Warm, friendly, and professional. Had lunch and it was actually pretty good, but could have had a little more spice.

I found Emeritus at Springfield when I was frantically looking for respite care for my Mom when the care I had arranged was suddenly not available 5 days before I was to leave on vacation. An organization called A Place for Mom found space at Emeritus and they were wonderful in helping us get signed up and in place in plenty of time. They were also very helpful with getting Mom settled for her two week stay and helping with her particular needs. She enjoyed her stay and I was able to enjoy my vacation, secure in the knowledge that Mom was well cared for.

The Calaroga Terrace is a perfect location for my "downtown" Dad! He has an amazing view, from the 17th floor, facing North. Gorgeous! The building is older but very sturdy and solid feeling. People are very friendly and Dad loves the food! He can also walk to Lloyd Center and a zillion other places in Northeast Portland. He can also take the Portland Tram directly downtown and the MAX Train is just a few blocks away. They are under-going a full remodel so a beautiful, comfortable home is getting even better. We are very pleased with The Calaroga Terrace!

I have no complaints. Overall, they were very friendly, very helpful. After my husband left, I had to go back because I'd forgotten a couple things, and everyone came out to see him and say hi. He was there for respite while I had surgery and I would bring him back no question. When I first went there I thought I needed two months, but when the doctor told me that I needed to extend his stay, Powell Valley was very accommodating with my needs.

When it came time to find a place for my dad we were sort of crushed for time. Van Mall had all the services we needed, a convenient location, and on the whole was the best place for us and our needs. We needed a place with more care services as dad needed more assistance, and Van Mall has those services. We also really like the atmosphere there.

I found the administration staff and direct service staff kind and accommodating. They were resilient when my father was being belligerent with them. They were supportive of me when it was time to move him from the facility (his choice). The food was ample and mostly good. It appeared there was some staff shortages while my dad was there and so food service could be a bit slow.

My friend who lives there said that the food is mid. She wishes they weren't as short staffed so that when any staff personnel call out sick she can get services she needs more on time. She also nice it is the nicest looking facility she has stayed including the room she has. She is bedridden, so she hasn't been able to do any of the activities.

Great place, caring. You may give potential residents my phone number to speak directly with me. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

Staff are very friendly and professional. They help foster a very good community for all the residents. My mom loves her apartment, and the weekly cleaning / linens service, as well as the prompt maintenance team. The food could use some improvement. One imagines that the kitchen staffers are doing their best, but given the constraints of institutional cooking and the need to please a wide variety of tastes, the food is not quite hitting the mark of excellence.

Our loved one is not in care, but staff is helpful and kind. We would give the meals a 4+, Mom loves the meals and the environment of the restaurant. Her husband is not impressed, but he is a picky eater. Unfortunately, my mom and [name removed] don't go to the activities. Mom considers her meal times her social hours and Al doesn't want to do activities. It's expensive, but they get good value considering the cost of retirement homes in the area.

My loved one was previously a resident at Van Mall and the overall experience was good. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The staff and care services were good. However, there were excessive wait times to receive food, food was not prepared as ordered or food received was not as ordered, and food was not received at the proper temperature (hot foods were not hot when received).

I'd say it was clean and set up well for its purpose. We chose this community because it's close to us, the prices are decent, they had an immediate opening and they run a memory care facility right next door, which we anticipate my mother will need eventually.

I gave the cleanliness a 4 only because it is an older building and could stand an update to the walls (paint), floor and carpet as well. And food, sometimes limited options are not to my liking. Not that skipping a meal now and then would hurt my waistline, or health My primary motivator for selecting this facility is proximity (4 blocks) to main central public transit hub, great location. I chose one of the smallest studios (325 square feet) because it suits my needs and preferences, but I have been in others that seem quite nice, double or triple mine. There are GREAT view from the upper floors.

We had a good experience at Pacifica Calaroga Terrace. I found the staff to be very friendly and easy to work with. And the apartment was nice and had a great view.

I cannot rate the value because I have nothing to compare it to. They could improve on the distribution of their "terrace tattler" however I am really enjoyed the Friday happy hours!

The only comment I would make is that it was sometimes, not always, it can be difficult to communicate with the proper staff to get my questions answered. I would recommend Evergreen Memory Care to other families.
