They had a very high turnover rate. There was no consistency. Rather than hrr we lo her when she was upset they sent her in an ambulance to a hospital 30 miles away instead of the one with the psych ward nearby.

Salida Woods came highly recommend to us but we were so disappointed in the experience our family had and we would not recommend them to others. There was a serious lack of communication whether it was by phone or email. Our loved ones room was barely cleaned - minimal cleaning and we found out there is only one lady there to clean the entire place. We had heard stories from our loved one and other residents about the meals and they said they were not good.

Just NO! They don’t have any of their own employees and are over run with agency that don’t care about the residents. Management also acts like they don’t care about trying to fix any of the issues. There are better places in the area! Don’t waste your time!!

Disgusting corporate greed. Charged my mother $[amount removed] for carpet replacement of a 700 square foot apartment and $[amount removed]for a new freezer door. This is after a $[amount removed] a non refundable fee for starting the lease. No receipts given for work. Rent raised 18.75% in one year. Look elsewhere!

Our experience was not good. I would not recommend the community to others for their loved ones. I think they could improve the knowledge of the staff, and the community could use a deeper cleaning. The medication management was able to be provided by the community. However, the community had stated they could also provide dressing and bathing assistance and this wasn't getting done for our loved one.

This was a big contender for my loved one. however, they wanted us to replace the flooring at our cost due to some issues we had with it and i did not think it should have been our cost. My mother needed a lift and it calls for a hard floor and we felt like the cost should be to them who was providing the services.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Not impressed with the memory care unit. Our mom's diet was never abided by, so she always had stomach problems and the food was consistently cold, nasty and delivered late. She was always alone in her room, they never brought her out to socialize or interact with others. Communication was almost non-existent unless initiated by us. The final straw was when one of the other residents, who should have had closer supervision, fell into my mom giving her a traumatic brain injury when my mom banged her head on the floor board and laid in a pool of blood. She was in the hospital for almost one week and nobody from New Perspectives even inquired to see how she was doing. Now she is confined to a wheelchair, needs more care and her brain will never be the same. After this we moved her to a place in St. Peter, best decision ever to leave New Perspective. Residents are just dollar signs to New Perspective.

During the time our loved one was there, she was not getting the correct and adequate care she was needing. Her health declined fairly quick and that is why we have to move her.

This place is terrible. My mother had Dementia and lived at Sunrise Golden Valley for a few months. My mother had very typical behaviors of someone suffering from Dementia. When I met with the leasing agent, I was very specific with her behaviors and what she needed in terms of care. He told me there would be no problems and they were "experts" in dealing with her situation. They ultimately called the police on my mom and kicked her out of the facility due to her normal dementia behaviors. Do not put yourself in the same situation. Seek another facility!

My mom was at Sunrise for several months. The leasing agent assured me that Sunrise staff understood Dementia and how to help those with its symptoms. This was not the case. My mom lasted 3 months in which I would get at least 3 calls a week complaining about my mom's very symptomatic behaviors. Ultimately, she was forced to leave. It was a terrible experience for my mom and my family.

At first, we were happy with the care my dad was receiving. The staff seemed super helpful and friendly and my parents were making nice connections. My parents had mentioned things here and there as they settled in which made you question the care they were really receiving. Then one day while visiting I realized just how lazy the staff was. Due to quarantine, we were not able to get into the facility. My parents received a new chair for their small apartment. The old chair then however sat in the middle of their room for OVER 3 weeks!! When visiting I asked to speak to the manager [name removed] since they had asked several people to have it removed. She politely said she didn't know "how to help us". Needless to say, we started our journey to find another facility.

They don't handle residents with complex needs. My husband was in memory care. We received poor service. When we moved in, we called to let them know we were coming. I let them know my husband would be hungry. There was no one there to greet us. No one told us where his room was. It got worse from there. I would not recommend Sunrise to anyone. They just put residents in front of the TV. He was not able to walk around so he crawled around on his hands and knees and they let him.

From the moment we arrived, everything went wrong. For 18 months, we tried to give the staff and management opportunities to step up. From missed medication to safety to inappropriate conversations to lack and misinformation, it was one disappointment to one frustration to the next. Patients with needs are not easy- my loved one isn't-- but this facility has much work to do to make the beauty of their facility match their work.

I would not recommend New Perspective Senior Living if your senior is not able to communicate effectively. The level of unprofessionalism is far below what I would expect from a recently opened facility. When we visited the Open House, we were excited and felt as though, “this is the place to be, we were thrilled!!!” The location was perfect, the facility was beautiful, and the tour was quite impressive. Although the cost was expensive, we felt comfortable and trusted the staff to treat the senior residents with dignity and respect. Each time, since the Open House I have been met with disappointment, heart-break and shock. The lack of care and attention given to the precious, vulnerable residents is overwhelming. Yes, there are workers that are serious about their job and do their best to care for the “sometime resistant” seniors, but the disappointing visits outweigh the good. Each visit has been met with questions: are there cameras in the open areas, is anyone supervising the workers, does anyone supervise the 2nd and 3rd shift workers, were the employees trained in sensitivity/compassion for the elderly and what is the turnover ratio? Upon each visit, I have witnessed something disturbing. During one visit, I witnessed a worker slamming a wheelchair-bound woman’s foot on the foot lever. During that same visit, my family members room smelled like strong urine and a worker was on her phone, not interacting or sitting among the residents. Also, the after hour security needs to be re-examined. I did not have time to voice a complaint as I had another appointment.

Pros: -Nice location -Lunch outings for residents -Well decorated -Private rooms Cons: -WLW accepts residents beyond the “assisted living” level of care while employing uncertified care staff. -Staff ususally only receives 3 days of on the job training prior to being given their own assignment. -Routinely short staffed and as a result the resident care suffers. -Third shift works with just a single aide and nurse rather frequently. -Very high turnover rate-higher than most other facilities.

My parent actually lived here for a few years but once Brookdale took over, it was very clear I needed to move my parent. They are about the money. It is too large a place to give any real personal care. They are all about the money so please be aware of any Brookdale properties.

My mom is a resident now, June 2017. Beautiful place, FINALLY a great chef. The turnover of their loved, seasoned employees is unbelievably sad. I cannot imagine how awful this particular facility is to work for as they have lost (quit not fired) AMAZING employees. Too many to count. Before placing anyone here, ask for proof of employee turnover. Your loved one will bond with caregivers only to find them quitting as soon as they become a constant in your loved one's life.

They promise the moon to get you to sign the dotted line but will fall way short of your expectations. Most of the workers (not all) put on a fake front. I have watched them not walk 10' to make any effort to involve a resident in an activity. It is so sad. During a tornado warning there was one person on to help three floors get to safety which was a total disaster, they had residents going to two different locations and not what they advised the residents to do. The food is all most always cold and not good and you will be lucky if you actually get what the menu says. The sandwiches and salads in the bistro might be 3 days old so be sure to check the date. They cancel the activities and not tell anyone or better yet the activity might be flying a kite...wow. The workers are loud and there is no respect for quiet time and the walls and floor have no insulation. The only thing this place has going for it is the beautiful building. Expect to pay a premium for everything and do not expect good care for your loved ones. If your loved one has allergies don't bother to let them know because I personally witnessed the kitchen say "she should know what she can and can't have." I could go on and on with items that I have personally witnessed...I do not recommend this place.

These people are [Removed]! They overcharge, provide crappy service then, They cheat their employees! They let them work overtime - But their Time-clock is configure not to count the proper amount of hours! Therefore, they cheat their employees, the State of Wisconsin plus the Federal Government (IRS) out of Taxes, Fica, and Social Security taxes! In addition, the building is not up to code, it is a classic case for an OSHA violation! In addition, their employees are not up to proper certification by the State of Wisconsin! Not their fault, But New Perspective fault! It is the case of a bunch of [Removed] [Removed] leading more Stupid [Removed]! Do yourself a favor, save your money, time and more importantly, your loved ones from unnecessary pain & suffering! Stay Far Away from any New Perspective facility, especially the one in Sun Prairie, Wi!

It has been going terrible for my dad here. Everything is not well. They bully people here, the invoice is confusing for the residents. No one helped connect the internet. It is like I moved him into a high school environment. I would not recommend them.
