What we like about the community is the friendly staff. However, they could improve on quality of food and variety of food.

Honestly not much positive. Thought of moving her but all facilities are same. Short staff lot of temps who don't care. Quality of care is not good anywhere....long fingernails. I don't know how that is even permitted. I wish I could bring her home. The problem is management. On the third director in memory care wing in 1 year and 1/2. Third CEO also. If they don't care then why should staff.

The Morningside House that my mother is currently in is accepting residents that need a higher level of care than they are able to provide (my mother is a good example). They raised their overall rates 10% this year, and plan to raise them an additional 10% every year for the foreseeable future., according to the Director. I work hard for my mother while she's there, we provide everything but food and laundry services, and they get paid. Unless a person can walk and do things for themselves, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Overall I feel Morningside is a good community. The response times quoted to us on the tour have not been at all what my dad has experienced. They told us 7-11 minutes from when he pushes the call button. The fastest time he has consistently seen is 15 to 20 minutes, but has often seen 44 min to an hour, 2 hours and sometimes no one came at all. Response times are much worse at night and on weekends. In-house PT provider is a 6 out of ten. They seem to look for reasons not to give my dad PT. He had Covid so was quarantined for 10 days. That's fine, but his PT didn't resume for almost 20 days at which point we complained and it resumed. My dad has some scabs and dry skin on his lower legs. Has had them for years. Then one day that suddenly became a "wound care" issue and his PT was halted for another several weeks. Dad has lost a lot of ground with his ability to walk because he has gotten PT about half of the two months he has been there. On the plus side, MorningSide is very clean and well kept; furnishings and fittings are in good repair and atmosphere is clean/ does not reek of urine. Most of the staff has been friendly but a few have been scratchy/irritable with my dad when he called them. Again worse with night and weekend staff. He does get his meds regularly and onsite pharmacy is very convenient.

I picked this community because it was on your list. It was close to home. When we visited it seemed like a good choice. It was no long term contract.

The atmosphere is good and everyone is friendly at this facility. It's clean. I definitely like it better than the previous facility that my loved one was in. I'm just not always happy with the quality of care that my loved one receives. I'm hoping that it's a 'getting to know you' process and that things will get better. Sometimes I think I expect too much, but it's my loved one....how can you not? As far as the staff, as always, you have some good people and some not so good people. It's a smaller facility. My loved one chooses not to participate in the activities, but I know that they do have them available. I haven't tried the food, but I've heard no complaints from my loved one. I've heard similar quality of care concerns from friends with loved one's in other facilities, some that are much more expensive. So I kind of feel like this just is what it is and that it's like that everywhere. Overall, I think I would say that yes I'd recommend this facility to family and friends.

The food was tasty and they did offer a good variety. The staff did provide good quality of care but when it came to the billing especially we felt they could of been a lot more communicative. A lot of our questions would go unanswered or not be answered in a timely manner.

According to our loved one the meals are really good but they do tend to get a little repetitive. They also have a lot of activities for the residents to participate in.

The memory care wing looks like the assisted living wing and I like that. My loved one has a private room and a bathroom with a shower which is what we were looking for. We are still trying to get acclimated and used to everything and staff are getting used to us since we have only been here a short period of time. We have not had any issues with them so far and are hoping for the best.

The woman who gave the tour was very nice and knowledgeable. The facility is a bit older.

They did not respond well to the call button. There were several times my loved one had to go to the bathroom and they did not make it in time. She got up early and they would come change her and then they wouldn't take her to breakfast for another 2-3 hours. I think that they were short staffed which had a lot to do with it, but it still had an impact on her. The staff were willing to listen to the issues that we had and they tried to make adjustments.

My loved one has been in this community for 3 months and when the panic button is used they do not respond well and can take up to 3 hours, one time it even took 12 hours for a response. The meals for my loved one he does not like chicken. It seems like they have chicken for every meal so a lot of times he just does not eat. My loved one has also requested over 20 times for someone to come in the room while he takes a shower, every time he has been told that there are not enough staff for him to have someone do that. The employees that have stood by and helped him with showering have been reprimanded due to them not being able to do this per the employees. After 11pm the staff disappear and can not be found and if they are found they are found sleeping even when the panic button is pushed.

This is a run of the mill community for your loved one. Nothing special and nothing really bad about the community either.

For the price, it's a safe clean community. The communication from the staff is good for covid but not nearly for family updates. I would recommend this community to others

We chose Sunrise of Blue Bell because they needed respite care since their care taker was out of town. The biggest issue they had was with the food is she says there is not a lot variety on the menu to choose from. It is hard because we were not able to go inside the facility due to quarantine.

Since we installed the camera inMoms room I have noticed the hard work, dedication and compassion [name removed] has shown my Mother. I also have noticed most of your staff who just come into Moms room and put food, drinks, etc. on her bed table and leave. I have asked [name removed] to please serve some soft foods and soups for [name removed]......she has very few teeth. I hope this letter brings our family some hope that Mom can feel better.......afterAll she will be CELEBRATING her 100th BIRTHDAY on [date removed]!!! If I am allowed to help in anyway concerning Moms’ care, please don’t hesitate to call on me! Please let [name removed] know, she is doing an excellent job and others could learn from her ruff and gruff techniques! She manages to keep the residents clean, gets them to eat and drink and if time permits, A HUG OR TWO TO START THE DAY!!!!????

My husband has not been in Poet’s Walks long enough for me to accurately evaluate the care he's been given. There have been problems with him missing some of his meds but I think that that has been resolved. I do think that they are doing their best to keep the residents busy and involved in activities which is a challenge during this pandemic.
