Poet’s Walk provides exceptional specialized care for patients suffering from dementia and diseases like Parkinson’s. My Dad who was prone to falling had been in other facilities that were not able to prevent him from falling resulting in multiple hospitalizations due to injuries. At Poet’s Walk, my Dad had zero hospitalizations due to falling. The care was great, the facility is spacious and elegant, the nurses and staff are amazing. I highly recommend Poet’s Walk!

I've had my husband home with me for the past two and a half years since his diagnosis of Parkinsons. I never believed I would be able to find a community that meets his needs as well as my expectations. I was wrong. Poet's Walk creates purpose for my husband every day. Whether it's a morning "golf tournament", building things with real tools alongside other new friends of his that he's met through the communities "man cave monday" group or watching his favorite college team play with the same group, every day is a new adventure. To top it all off, he gets his favorite midnight snack every day, something that may seem trivial, but is super important. In the eyes of the administration at Poet's Walk, there are no small details!

Great information and extraordinary compassion. Morningside is so well thought out! [name removed] gave a great tour and was very attentive. I was able to pour my heart out without feeling rushed or disregarded. The community is very nice and everyone was so very friendly.

I placed my mother at Poet's Walk one year ago and I have never felt better about such a big decision in my life. My favorite part is the environment. The team here goes above and beyond to provide a sense of purpose to every single resident, regardless of what stage of this disease they are currently in. They don't see a patient, rather, a human who deserves the ability to engage with other residents, enjoy passions from their lives such as cooking demonstrations, flower arranging and of course, their weekly "High Tea at Noon" affairs. Before I toured Poet's Walk, I was resigned to the fact that mom's ability to make new "best friends" was a thing of the past. Thanks to the incredible engagement team (or Purpose Creators as I like to refer to them) I get to see that familiar smile that had been gone for far too long.

The search to find the perfect place for my loved one has been a long and emotionally difficult one, but I can confidently say we have found our extended family. Poets Walk offers something that we did not see anywhere else. The employees are dedicated to their individual tasks and come together to make sure the residents are loved and well cared for. All departments are visible throughout the day. You’ll see the housekeepers working hard, the caregivers being attentive, there is always some type of activity going on in Main Street, and the servers serving the homemade food and then cleaning after meals are over. It is truly something that we are happy to have found! You cannot go wrong with placing your loved one in the care of [name removed] and [name removed], they’ll quickly become part of your family.

It is my pleasure to write this review on behalf of my family, specifically, my wife. I will be the first to admit that I was completely against placing [name removed] in a "home". Eventually, with my family really pushing me to put more focus on my own health, I began looking at different options. I was extremely underwhelmed, until we visited Poet's Walk. I finally felt that I was listened to, rather than being sold an item. They understood my needs, worked at my pace and never "pushed me" to hold an apartment. In fact, my first tour was two hours and I left feeling like I was leaving a family get together. The director of sales carefully listened to each one of my needs and made sure I didn't leave without speaking with the head of each department. Since making the decision to place, I've gone on outings and excursions with my wife, I've taken part in the men's group at the community, and I've made new friends with other husbands just like me!! As a Clinical Care Coordinator at one of the Florida's most highly regarded hospital, I can truly say that this community set's itself apart in every way possible. Their commitment to not just their residents, but the families, their staff and their providers are second to none. If you find yourself in the overwhelming position of finding the right community for your loved one, adding Poet's Walk to your list is an absolute must!

My 80-year-old mom was hesitant to move out of her single-family home, but her living out of state and alone far from family was concerning for us. She feared losing her independence and moving back to PA but we convinced her to give Morningside House a try for a few months. Fast forward six weeks, and she has settled in, made new friends, and keeps asking us when she can sell the old house! She is so much healthier now that she doing things, exercising, and having meals with friends! She has even become a sports fan - joining the group that watches games in the cafe! The staff and environment provide exactly the right amount of support so that she feels more independent than she did alone at home. The staff made her transition into the community so smooth! I had not imagined it was even possible for it to go so well. The staff clearly know what they are doing and really care about the residents. The staff are always responsive to questions and concerns and are friendly!

With Alzheimer's running on both sides of my family, I've always known that my wife and I are highly at risk of suffering from this disease. We have chosen to be proactive and with the advice of my neurologist, we decided to begin getting our "ducks in a row". After seeing many local communities, we decided to broaden our search as we did not find the "perfect fit". There were plenty of communities that were aesthetically pleasing, others that were convenient based on where we live, while others we didn't even bother taking a tour based on the visuals of the care of the residents and the nonchalant attitude of the staff. On a whim, we decided to head up to Sarasota to check out Poet's Walk. From the moment we walked in, we knew we found our new home if the time comes. It didn't feel like a tour, rather an invitation to observe and meet the "family" rather than the "staff". The residents were so happy and well taken care of. I give this community the highest rating possible!

A year ago I made the decision to move my sister into Poet's Walk. This was after touring every memory care option in Sarasota (there are a ton!!). The moment I walked into the community (emphasis on COMMUNITY), I knew I found her new home. Since that time, the leaders at Poet's Walk have lived up to every word they promised my family. The staff is an extension of my family, I've made so many new friends with other family members and I can honestly say that I am a sister once again.

My loved one is currently a resident at Morningside House of Laurel and everything about his experience at this facility has been great so far. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The staff, care services, value for cost and activities are great also! They are very creative with the activities and seem to really listen. I would recommend Morningside House of Laurel to family and friends!

While offering great care, clean facilities, plenty of activities and caring staff, one of the highlights of the Poet's Walk experience is how well they communicate with residents and their families. Their experience with dementia is unparalleled, and the way they share information and updates throughout the progression helps the family understand what is happening and what to expect. They proactively provide updates and changes to our family member's health, which help us cope with the changes. We truly appreciate the staff and their approach at Poet's Walk, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other family members or friends because we know they will all be taking well care of!

The team at Poet’s Walk has exceeded my expectations . We moved my mother to Poet’s Walk 10 months ago, after her dementia progressed to late stages requiring around-the-clock care. Courtney and the team have always made themselves available to answer questions, offer support, and help us transition my mother to hospice. They truly care about supporting our entire family through this process, not just my mother. As a nurse of 25 years experience, from Hospitals to in home and everything in between, I can honestly say I've never come across a facility quite like Poet's Walk. The commitment to communication from the beginning of the introduction stage with Chris, to meeting the entire team to ensure not only continuity of care, but to make sure that my family knew exactly who is accountable to what area of care for my mother (housekeeping, dining, to activities...I even got to meet the individual who handles laundry to make sure she knew exactly what type of detergent mom likes to how she likes her clothes folded) was exactly what I was looking for. We've been a part of the Poet's Walk Family (emphasis on family) for several months now and as a medical professional as well as a child with a parent facing this disease, I am so pleased to be able to give this community my highest endorsement.

We had my Mom at a few different facilities and there was always something "missing" where her care was concerned. We happened upon Poet's Walk (thank goodness) and my mom is now home. As someone who has had to move my mom twice due to lack of communication, lack of staff and lack of transparency, I know how hard it is to find a memory care community who stands by their commitment. I was convinced that I needed to bring mom home with in home care, until my pastor told me to check out Poet’s Walk. I’ll admit, when I met with [name removed] for a tour, I was initially beyond apprehensive. I was convinced that this would be the same old run around. I’ve never seen an assisted living community that operates like Poet’s Walk. The compassion, attention to detail and dedicated staff make me wish I found this gem two years ago. This team gives every resident a sense of purpose while giving every family member the ability to be just that; family. Poet’s Walk gets my full endorsement with the highest of grades. I toured several facilities looking for a memory care that did not have an institutional atmosphere and I hit the jackpot when I found Poet's Walk. From the moment I entered the lobby I knew I had found Mom's next residence. It was friendly, professional and beautifully appointed-just like home should be! Everyone from upper management to nursing, dining and the maintenance staff are carefully chosen and well suited to their positions. I rest assured that my mother has the best of care and it's a great comfort knowing she is safe and truly happy! This was the best decision I ever made.

Everyone is friendly, professional and helpful. They are always available for any questions or concerns. It is a super warm and welcoming community and it has proven to definitely be the right place for my sister's needs.
