I didn’t like pine rock at all.i felt that my mother in law was not getting the care she needed, when you had a problem and when you tell the staff,they made you feel not wanted. The Bed was not clean for days.

Even though I let them know my father had dementia and refused help they convinced me that my father would be fine there. They had many others in a similar situation. He missed the meal times, so I asked for the food to be delivered for an additional $5 per meal. They knocked once, and even though I told them he couldn't hear, they noted he didn't answer the door when they knocked, so no food was delivered. They also didn't clean his apartment for the same reason. He had three major incidents involving emergency services in the first eight days. Where I was told, he could not live there if it continued. After eight days it was clear he was not safe there, so I moved him out on the 10th day. They would not return the deposit and stated they would charge him for an additional 90 days. So for the ten days, he lived there they charged him over 6000 and tried to get another $6,000 extra out of him. The staff was unprofessional. The head chef and Assistant GM were openly speaking about firing the head of housekeeping in the main lobby in front of me and many others in the main Lobby. The people that live in the community are given ambassador roles which seems to create a lot og gossip and clicks. Food was horrible. One launch my Dad received when I was at the facility consisted of 1/2 cup of split pea soup and a thin 2" square of corned beef. Additionally, two days in a row he received a mini croissant with a half scoop of chicken salad and lunch is supposed to be the "Big" meal.

My mom lived for a year in assisted living at Courtyards at Berne Village. This establishment has changed hands numerous times in the last 5 years and the quality of care has not improved. I witnessed physical neglect and psychological abuse from some staff at Courtyards. When reported, management did little to correct the situation and lied (in writing) about our mom's medication schedule. Relatively few staff demonstrated professionalism at Courtyards and many complained of being underpaid and overworked. My mom passed away in a very caring hospice home, free from the disrespect received at Courtyards. It is a terrible shame that there are so few affordable and safe care homes for our aging population. Courtyards is not one of them. Their billing department continues to harass my family with false bills and phone call threats of collection agencies after our mom died, even though her bills were paid in full before she left. I found this business to be callous, incompetent, negligent, and disrespectful toward their residents and their families.

Not assisted living. Just expensive apartments for seniors. Very poor care. Senior staff unresponsive and rude. Dangerous mismanagement of medication. Costly.

Terrible General Manager. Food is terrible.

Beware if you are looking for Memory Care at Legacy at Bear Creek. Ask plenty of questions before you move in a loved one. The place has a very high patient to staff ratio so many residents go unnoticed or assisted by staff. Residents are allowed to go days without showers, activities are that are scheduled on paper don't take place unless family are around to supplement staff. The place looks great from the outside but take time to see beyond the marketing hype. At 2am with 3 staff to 50 patients, who is checking to make sure those on O2 are getting air, or to make sure nobody has fallen in the night? Many better more active communities are in the DFW area.

Started out wonderfully for my mom with lots of promises for activities and personal attention. Stayed for a year or so. Could never reach my mom's doctor. Open bedsores lasted for months, staffing shortages were frequent, and ended with assaults by another resident whom the staff said they could not control.

My initial impression was that the place was dark although it looks like some updates have been made recently. I was discouraged to see aides (nurses?) on cell phones while I was there and overheard one of the staff be very rude to a woman in a wheelchair who was asking for help. If this is what happens when guests are visiting, what is going on when family members aren't present? I would not feel my mom was being treated respectfully if I or a family member wasn't with her all of the time.

This community seemed awful during our tour. The room they showed us was a very small one bedroom that they were also using as a shared room. We were there around dinner time and the residents were not able to get into the dining room as it was locked. They had them lined up along the wall and it seemed depressing.

In the beginning Legacy was a warm welcoming place with great staff and was a great community for seniors. During a recent management change Legacy is in a down turn. POSITIVE: The front desk staff is kind, courteous and willing to help. NEGATIVE: The clinical staff, as hard as they try, are untrained, spread thin and unable to care for seniors. The executive director does not communicate, she is non-responsive and unwilling to help. The health and wellness director is rarely available, unable to train and lead the clinical staff to properly care for seniors. While in Legacy's care our loved one was [removed] left to sit in filth for hours at a time (think of classic nursing home stereotype). Also she was not fed properly and on one occasion ended up in the hospital for dehydration. We were told that her moderate dementia was to blame for the way she was treated, but we were assured that things would change and the care would get better .... it didn't. For the money there are several better facilities in the area. Please keep looking.

This facility receives a failed rating. First they put my mother with a roommate who has [removed]. Then when questioned about the problem and why they would put another tenant with someone like this they passed the buck blaming their sales team. Their sales team is part of management! They admitted hearing rors of the roommate and when we asked why nothing was investigated or questioned we were told "that's not our concern". This facility while an independent care facility is uncaring and shows no concern. What's worse the management attempted to double talk there way out of lack of caring and concern for their tenants. Very unprofessional. We not recommend this facility for the care of your loved ones.

I just about choked yesterday when the Representative told me there was a non-negotiable, one time, non-refundable, $5,000 "Community fee" BEFORE my Aunt could move in. I see from a previous responder that this fee was only $1,000 in September of last year. This is nothing less than high level extortion. She couldn't believe that I'd never heard of this type of fee before in any of the other three Brookdale Facilities that I've had Relative live in the previously. I'm going to cancel our application and keep my Aunt at the Brookdale Facility at Admiral Heights where there is no "Community Fee".

I would not send my worst enemy here if they were disabled! My mother in law moved here 2 years ago it's always too hot and stuffy and has been known to smell like vomit. She can not move around as well at others and really receives no accommodations, the buses are not designed for wheel chairs, and have no access lifts. She is mostly independent and doesn't require an assisted living facility or nursing home, but there are only two disabled parking spots and they always have the two exact cars. I went in and politely asked for a parking spot (because my mother in law does pay about 3,000.00 a month between her and her partner for a one bedroom), I was met with the rudest reply ever! The exact words was a sarcastic "is she driving" followed by a chuckel and rejection! I was and stil am disappointed by the response I received from Mr. Lewinsky. What is worse is that they have lied about how much rent would be and rate locking then when asked they claim they don't recall. My mother in law picked this place because she had a friend living there but I always had a felling in the pit of my stomach about this place, we are currently looking for a new place for her to enjoy life and be treated with dignity.

They said Mom had to be in Memory Care. They don't serve the same food as on the Assisted side, and it's not good. After moving her in they threw out her special blue trash wicker basket that she has had in her bath for 50 years, and I knew she would recognize it. Her stroke left her with a 3 min. memory, but she knows everything in the moment and remembers most of her past. Then after a few days there I noticed that she was still in bed at 11 AM. She even had them call me with the worst call of my whole life! "Why did you leave me hear?" After 3 weeks she seems like she was giving up on living, so I moved her. She is as Grace Assisted Living in Boise the past year (on the Assisted living) and is doing quite well. The experience at Willow Park was horrible and if you have to go to memory--really keep an eye out!
