Merrill Gardens

The complex was amazing but not suite for our mom. She'd be overwhelmed, and it did provide the freedom that others did. It is almost identical to where she lives now, but an assisted living environment.

We were not happy with this community. the staff would not call back when we needed to speak with them. The community was clean and did have a good value. The other residents did appear to be happy. We did not have my brother move in. The manager would not call us back to see if my brother could move in. We like the community but was not able to speak with anyone.

This community was really nice they did a great job with my tour and they were able to answer all my question, I just felt my dad would be better off in a smaller more home like atmosphere.

I love the fact that business tries and keep the older buildings in the area and they find new ways to use them but sometimes using it for care for the seniors may not be the best option. This particular location just looked older and worn and dated. The staff was fine very friendly and informative. One thing I didn't care for is that they separated the care so they had individual areas for different care level needs

Based on my tour they were fine. However I just didn't getting a good feeling for a match. It looked clean. The staff were all nice and good at what they were doing. Everybody was happy when I walked through. The number of people, the layout, and the dining experience was not a good match for my mom.

New facility, only 3 years old. Bright rooms and common areas. They charge for somethings the other facilities include free such as emergency pendents.

A nice facility, good apartments, but no medical personal on the facility no plans if the residents physical and medical needs increase.

Beautiful place, but clearly an independent facility, not assisted living. It felt like I was walking into a new hotel. My mother would have had to reside on the third floor. If there was an emergency, she wuld have to walk down the stairs. That's impossible for my mother who has Parkinsons. The director that spoke with us was very kind though.

Although the man who greeted me is the assisted living coordinator he did not seem all that enthusiastic. The one bedroom he showed me is so tiny i would never move my mom in. There are good points of course, but not what I am looking for.

I think Fig Gardens is a nice place, in terms of the facility and the staff. It is clean, well kept, and the people all seem very friendly. However I was very disappointed that shortly after we moved our loved one in they discontinued their 24 hour manager service.

Residents have been very helpful and friendly to my mom since she's lived there. Some of the house managers have not been very helpful and have poor attitudes to our family. Unfortunate because we really like the facility and hope our mom feels comfortable there.

I toured this community in March 2016 with my loved one. They were very friendly and helpful. My loved one was convinced it would work for her and she signed up on the spot. We were offered a free microwave with the apartment, but they reneged on it later, which frustrated me. But all now seems to be going well for my loved one.

Unfortunately we didn't have a long stay. She was only here a month before she moved. She just didn't like the location and wasn't happy there. There was no problem with the staff or maintenance or anything like that. Just wanted to be somewhere else.

They have some very friendly people, however, they have too few staff members to offer the services that they charge for and they are not very responsive whenever those services are requested by someone.

Nice building and rooms. However outside area was not as inviting as it was too sunny and looked like it was only used for special events.

Nice size rooms although the overall layout of the building seemed a little confusing. Much traffic noise on east side of building, but only when window or patio door is open. Nice bathroom set-up.

Did not seem to have enough staff. Clients just sitting in a row in a hall with no stimulus. Viewed a room and it reaked of urine.

Stated that when they placed there family member in the community, they were falsely told about the covered benefits included in the total cost. They were informed just as papers were to be signed that the loved ones medication was not included and further stated that they were told else wise, and after signed contract they were informed of other "new" cost that now cost them almost 650.00 more a month than their prior estimate. However the family said that was the only bad experience they had, but other than that their experience is good.

Very nice place. I know I will get tried of the dining room with the same people every meal for 90 times a month. Visited 9/26/2014

Our experience with The Legacy at Georgetown as been a somewhat disappointing one. The facility itself is nice looking, and the staff are all very friendly, but they have quite a few areas they need to improve on. To start, the orientation process for new residents and their families could be much better, as well as just the communication with families in general. Memory care is not a one size fits all type of care, and they could do a better job working with the families to design and customize a care plan for their loved ones. I would also be more comfortable if they were better at documenting and providing proof of the care they say they're providing. The facility also feels understaffed. While the public areas are usually kept very clean, the individual rooms do not get much attention. They could also do a much better job with the activities, I'd like to see more outings and events for the residents. Overall it just feels like there is a lack of direction and leadership from both the administrative staff as well as the nursing and care staff.
