I would highly recommend this community. Every time I have visited the place was clean and I always see the staff interacting with the residents in a supportive way. It feels more like family than just CNAs. The food is nice looking and taste good as well. They seem to always have an activity going on. [Name removed] at the front desk is super sweet and very knowledgeable.

Canterfield of Clay County is a beautiful, brand new community. We were able to move my mother in right before the hurricane, and we found the staff to be more than accommodating. They were very helpful, quick to act and follow up, and very caring. My mother wasn’t eating very well before she moved there, but she enjoyed the food at Canterfield, and was eating much better there. I would highly recommend this community to others.

I looked at 4 places in the area and the reason we chose Canterfield for my mother were the fact that is is a newer facility and physically nice and I felt like the residents that I met were very much in line with my mothers personality and I figured she would fit in well. The director is very responsive and I can call her whenever I need. They are having shortage of staff, so the care has suffered from that some. The staff that they do have is great and they are trying their best with what they have. They do have an activities director who is great, but I do think they could provide more for the residents to do. Overall our experience has been great and I would definitely recommend to others looking.

The industry would rise a notch or two if all facilities had a [name removed] (their Community Relations Dir). Because of her diverse talents and her willingness to help, she is always busy. She is one who truly cares about the residents - and it shows. There is always a smile and an outreached hand when she's present. So glad to be at Canterfield!

I am absolutely convinced that God had a hand in helping me choose to move my parents to Canterfield. Everyone--yes, EVERYONE--has gone out of their way to assist in any way. The staff at Canterfield has laughed with us, cried with us and made our parents feel comfortable in their new home. They have an incredible team. They really do care. [name removed]

My best day was when my mother said "I really like being here....they take good care of me"...then I new I had made the right choice. Thank you for making your residents care a priority. Mom is content and well cared for and that gives me peace of mind. Thank you all for loving my mom too.

Overall experience -[name removed]. and [name removed], are the top notch and both deserve a raise/ and a few days extra off a year for being exceptional employees. Cleanliness of the facility - Good except for [name removed] hall- room 227- at the beginning of his annex, smelled like urine when he first moved in. Not sure it still smells. Friendliness - for the most part- except most help staff cannot speak English. there should be some language classes, free, there, so staff can understand patient needs. Quality of care- I can't comment as I have not been there when Dan got care. I will say, when I was there 8 days, it took staff a long time- 20 minutes- + to get to his room when he pressed the button. Administrative staff- Overall- [name removed], [name removed], [name removed]are helpful. Activities - I'm sure they are great! [name removed]probably does not attend. Value for the money - [name removed] really helped to make this affordable for [name removed]. I have mentioned Canterfield to a handful of people in Ft. Myers.

We like the smallness of the memory care, and [name removed] has been great!

It is small and not corporate owned so the staff and residents know you very quickly ! My husband and really liked that the residents helped each other when needed and they looked out for each other!

Better food. Also too much plain white rice. Would like more mashed potatoes and gravy. Prefer to be anonymous. Any title you think is good will be all right with me. The staff that takes care of us is really great. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families I looked at a lot of places and decided this was best for me

Overall, we and Mom are very pleased. Most of them are very friendly and attentive. Apartment is cute and well maintained. Mom has a studio and it is plenty of room.

I have not lost my mind like the rest of the residents. I’ve not had good luck with weekend coverage. The coverage has been good during the week. I hesitate to say more because of the identification requirements.

What we like the most about Canterfield of Tallahassee is the staff and other residents. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.

Very nice accommodations. Amenities are nice.It would be nice if the bottom kitchen cupboards would have pull out shelves or drawers. Very few 85 year olds are inclined to get on their hands and knees to retrieve items. So unused kitchen space. It appears that Canterfield is saving dollars on food served in the dining room. Attention should be given to preparing healthy food for residents. More fruit, vegetables and Mediterranean diet options should be provided for the health of residents. Same menu for a week is boring and unappetizing.

Overall experience is still good. They've had personnel changes which are a challenge. The cleanliness and staff are a 5. They are always helpful and communicate with me. Meals and dining are good. Activities are great, they're always doing something fun. Value is still great.

We were very happy with the respite care. Mom was happy and in good shape when we picked her up. The only problem is the lack of communication. Since my mom has Alzheimer's, she was unable to tell us anything about her stay and no one from Canterfield reached out with a report. We considered Canterfield for permanent placement, but ultimately did not choose them because of this communication issue. Respite care is hard to find and Canterfield was available. After a visit or two, I felt good about placing her there. It's clean and the people are very nice.

We have an Activity Director who pays attention to the interests of our group. He plans a wide variety of offerings and his goal is take us pleased and not just busy! I am in Independent Living...my husband was in Memory Care. Both Directors successfully engage their differing participants. Kudos to [name removed] and [name removed]!!

I'm not sure if I would recommend this facility to family and friends. My loved one has been here for two years now. I still worry about him immensely. His 'side' of the facility (which is not where the nurses stay because he is more independent than not) seems to be mismanaged a bit because there is never ANY staff on that side. He has fallen a time or two and they have responded in a decent amount of time.. it's just concerning. The meals they provide are great for him and the facility is kept extremely clean.

It's a great, family friendly atmosphere. Everyone is very welcoming. They keep lots of activities planned. And it's a beautiful place. The apartment is easy to get around. The bedroom is large. The bathroom is super large, with a step-in shower. There's a walk-in closet and a beautiful balcony. One area for improvement is the dog area could have been larger and perhaps had artificial turf. It was near a water run-off area and could get kind of muddy. But it was a great place.

My parents are residents here and it's been a good experience so far. It's very clean, staff is good, and they have activities available. They're also pet friendly!
