Entrance to room goes through another. He wasn't home to meet. Room is fine. It's the access I question. Met the guy, Gary. Very messy and my Mom feels besides being very hot inside,it smells. No offer of daily care other than a shower twice a week?? Was told there is a possibility of them getting a pool, chair, but no promise. I can wait for an answer....

Looks like an apartment, under big construction $3,750 for 1 bedroom.

Beautiful place but expensive.Looked at shared 2bdrm-don't think dad would do that. Did feel warm and inviting though.

Pets allowed first floor. Doesn't seem that pet friendly. Like one bedroom deluxe has W/D. Invited to stay overnight.

Nice homes/apartments. Location not desirable due to busy street and not gated. Design/flow of property didn't seem to foster gather of people. not a comfortable outside area to gather. didn't see may residents.

Very nice, but units too small and you have to walk outside on a covered walkway to get to the main building for dinner and activities.

Possible, but they want $2,000 'move-in fee' - no one else has asked for this

Today we visited Dale Commons. Tou guide was not there and they had no prior knowledge of our visit, so an assistant showed us around. The building is lovely and we saw two different apartments, one on each floor. There is a special discount if we decide by a certain time. This place is the priciest so far.

I would tell others to be wary about what The Reserve is saying they offer to you. We chose them because they were very friendly and welcoming coming in. We were really sold on what they said they would offer as far as care services, that their care would be better than other places. But that has not been true whatsoever. Don't be taken in by the bells and whistles, or what you're being sold. Most of the staff have been okay, but the follow-up is not good. We've had several communication issues that after six weeks were still not resolved. They said they didn't have my phone number on file even though I had provided it from the beginning. So during an emergency, they weren't able to contact us or give us updates. That finally has been resolved, but too little too late. The follow-through on the care is just not there. The number of staff that they have in and out with turnover is incredible. They're constantly having to retrain people, which is frustrating when your loved one needs a higher level of care. It's a great community for somebody who is very independent and doesn't need a lot of care. But if your loved one need more care, it's not a great option.

I feel that my loved one didn't get the care they should have, especially with the cost we were paying for at this community. I feel the care services when they were there it was good. However, I don't think the staff showed up to care for my loved one as often as they should have. My loved one wasn't able to participate in the activities due to not being able to go to the activity room. The activities director didn't bring any activities to my loved one. All the staff were friendly, though.

Dear mbk:  I am the son of a 94 year old client in Crystal Terrace Memory Care in Klamath Falls, Oregon.  Crystal Terrace is a wonderful place.  However,  I cannot say mbk has "...done it's best."  The transportation for wheelchair clients is poor in my opinion. The wheel chair ride and the roads to the hospital are rough in the back of the bus while strapped in a wheelchair.  I've brought this up before and I can't, regrettably, say mbk really cares.  If the owners of mbk really cared, they'd get in a wheelchair and take a short ride, strapped in the back of the Crystal Terrace bus, down to Skylakes Hospital and then back to Crystal Terrace.  Only then might they understand what my 94 year old mother, with her 94 year old spine, endures every three weeks when she makes this trip.  Since I go with her all the time, I get to hear her yelp in pain every time we hit the dozens of cracks in the road.  This surely affects other elderly clients as well.  The reason there might not be many other complaints could be because most clients don't travel with family. I request that a high up Crystal Terrace executive take this ride in the Crystal Terrace bus.  Only then might they understand.  Until then, I cannot say that Crystal Terrace has done it's best.  Hopefully my review will not fall on deaf ears  Other than the above problem, the mbk care is absolutely excellent.  But I wish the above complaint and not the compliment be the focus of this letter.  If it were not for the above stated problem I'd give Crystal Terrace Memory Care a whopping 5 stars. In conclusion: Please imagine yourselves at 94 years old as you ride in a wheelchair in the back of the Crystal Terrace bus riding over cracks in our town's improperly maintained roads.  Please forward this to a high up Crystal Terrace Executives. THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENCE ONLY. It's tricky to figure out what a senior residence is like until you are living there. At this particular one, the Park, the majority of residents seem to have withdrawn into themselves. It would be hard to have a meaningful discussion with someone regarding, for example, current events. For the most part, mealtimes in the dining room are exceedingly depressing: silent and dreary. The activities staff is excellent and tries very hard to get people engaged. Management is a different story: It appears to be almost nonexistent. There is a director who oversees the ENTIRE complex (as well as construction of a new building), and at the Park someone who oversees caregivers and med techs. I can't speak to resident safety, but the caregivers, for the most part, are kind and capable -- although there are not enough of them. Word has it the Courtyard has been purchased by a company that runs student housing, which is interesting

Be advised that Kirkwoood Orange has recently changed ownership. After 6 years of my dad living at Kirkwoood, we are now considering moving to a different facility. The staff has been drastically reduced and the care is no longer adequate. Caregivers are wonderful, but they are no longer properly staffed to meet the needs. Sadly, the new company has chosen to invest in decorative appearances over the well being of the residents.

Most of the staff respect the residents, but a few staffers are prima donas who think it's their inalienable right to be obnoxious and pushy.

We placed my father here since it is advertized as a memory care facilty for all stages of dementia. I found the 1/8 patient ratio was too high and just assumed he'd have more attention than this. It took about 3 weeks for him to get adjusted to things. He has late stage now and wanders a lot. There also seems to have been a large staff turn over in the last few months. there are a few exceptional people.. Belinda is an activities coordinator and really seems to understand dementia in all aspects. Also the rooms don't have individual temperature controls...air conditioning and no camera monitoring system to check on the rooms. They do a 2 hour night check instead. Just happy Hospice is now involved and has added in making my fathers room more adaptable for him. I would have thought the Adobe House nurse or staff could have done some of these things.

it was a rough first week. The biggest problem being the food service. Slow, inedible, horrible. They have brought in someone from corporate to handle, so we'll see. Also some issues with the night aides being a little rude and unempathetic. Considering you pay for extended care, it shouldn' t seem like a burden on the resident to request assistance. Overall, the facility is lovely but the staff has alot to prove.
