I rarely ever give a 5 star review because I feel there is always room for improvement. Besides their need to perfect their website to pay remotely for rent and a few bumps in the beginning, I am really happy with the care and activities The Firs provides for my mother. She has made friends already with other residence and gets involved with various activities offered. She also enjoys the salon facilities onsite while I have the comfort of knowing she is safe. Her home caretaker comes as well as her physical therapists. They have weekly cleaning of sheets and light housekeeping. It actually is a wonderful place for Mom to call home!

Better than most! It is a good place to be. My hope is that the administration will work itself out. I really like the place but there are some administrative issues.

It seems to me that the other residents are very friendly. The staff is very friendly as well, and overall it's a really welcoming place. The facility seems really nice, and it's kept clean. The dining area and all of the common areas look nice, and the living spaces are comfortable. Our loved one got a really nice haircut at the salon there, which she enjoyed.

It's been a good experience so far. I attribute a lot of that to my family that lives here and has been so good to me. They help me out a lot, and they take me to appointments. The Firs does offer transportation to appointments, but only on a couple of days a week, which doesn't always work out for scheduling with new doctors. My apartment is small, and I wish the layout was a little better. The living room is smaller than my bedroom, and the bathroom is very big. So I wish there was more space in the living room where I spend more of my time. But I had to get what I could afford, so I opted to take a smaller apartment. They need more help here, especially with maintenance. I know they're trying to get more help, and I understand that it's difficult right now. I had one big issue, which was troubling, but we worked through it, and it's all been straightened out now. I've been really impressed with the youth that wait on us in the dining room and kitchen. All of the staff have been great, but it's especially nice to see how the youth interact with us. They go above and beyond in caring for us and are very thoughtful. I think they're wonderful kids. If I don't call down and tell the staff that I'm not coming for breakfast, they send someone to my door to make sure I'm okay. And they do the same thing for the evening meal.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good experience the ladies who showed us around and spoke with our loved one were very lovely. However this community did not have the aging in place that we were looking for.

They are really friendly, everybody there. I was so impressed from the very first time when I took my loved one there and got her checked into her room, they all knew her name, including the dining waitstaff. Everybody greeted her by name, and they still do every time they see her. So I've been really impressed with that. The directors are very accessible. I can call them on their cell phones if I need to. And they're really responsive. There does seem to be a little bit of a disconnect if I ask one of the directors to give a message to my loved one's CNAs. Sometimes the whole message won't get delivered or it gets changed a little bit, but not in a serious or detrimental way. And a couple of times I've left a message and asked them to please have so and so call me, and I haven't gotten a call. So occasionally there's been a bit of a disconnect on those types of things. But overall, it's been a very good experience. The food is really good. It's really well balanced and presented well, with lots of different colors on the plate. It looks very appetizing, and everything I've eaten there has been really good. The other day they served stuffed blueberry pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup. One time they gave my loved one a sandwich where half of it would have been enough for one person, and it was just packed with meat and cheese and veggies and good things. The food is not high in sodium or fat, so I can tell that somebody has taken the time to plan a really healthy, well-balanced, nutritious diet.

But the people who are there try really hard to keep the residents happy and safe. I wish they encouraged more participation in activities. They offer them, but there's often not much participation.

I would recommend this community to others based on my experience. The community is clean and neat and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have activities for the residence to participate in also.

Our first impression of The Firs was just the nice friendly and homey atmosphere it had. Also the activities are starting to pick back up.

We thought our loved one could have a private room here, but what they meant by private room was a private bedroom in a 2-bedroom apartment. And that's not what we were looking for. The people we interacted with were fine. The facility seemed okay but wasn't as nice looking as others we looked at. It seemed more like an old person’s home or a hospital.

Beautiful grounds made an excellent first impression. Warmly greeted by [name removed], including tour, cookies and lots of swag. The facility was open and clean The rooms and kitchens were on the smaller size Outdoor patio door was only available in the largest rooms.

We have heard good things about the meals they are serving from other residents, and the activities do look really good. They have a salon there which is great, but one thing that is a little disappointing is they have yet to find someone to work at the salon. However, we do think the value for cost is really good.

I think they're fine. My loved one complains, but that's just her. I think they're freindly. Her room is always kept clean. I've been in other rooms that are not, and perhaps that was the person in those rooms. I think they could do a little better on their food and offer oldt imter food like ptoaotes and gravy, thers's a lot of rice and pasta that they don't care for. I think they do plenty of activities. They have a library, do movies, bingo, card games, puzzles. I think I would recommend them to others.

The meals are amazing, our loved one is extremely happy with meals. One thing we really like about them is that they have 24/7 care for our loved one. There is always someone there that our loved one can turn to if she needs help. They are very responsive and go the extra mile to help out our loved one with whatever she needs. However the visitation limits are just not working with us, at first it was due to covid, our loved one was having a really hard to settling in and getting comfortable and they were very unbending on letting our family come in to get her comfortable Now the house of visitations are just not working with our family so that is something we are really struggling with.
