We have been extremely disappointed since my loved one entered Atria a few months ago. The facility is terribly understaffed and there are rampant communication problems between management and front line staff. On the surface, it is a beautiful facility but the services our loved one receives has not met up with our expectations. There has been a large turnover in staff and problems point to poor management. Some of the staff are truly caring but that does not compensate for how poorly the facility is run. Do your homework and please please consider other facilities.

Don't let your family member live here if they have mild dementia or early Alzheimer's because this place doesn't want to deal with the normal issues that come with the disease. After a short time you may be told your person needs a "higher level of care" & has to move out. They will want you to move them to their other facility that takes care of people with dementia & costs more.

In the beginning everything was fine( Sunabella Memory Care) until the staff was changed. We moved to Sunabella at Savannah Assistant Living. The experience was not the same. That facility changed workers every week and the administration [name removed] was the worst. I had to speak with her several times about the conditions in the residence( mold). I do not recommend this facility. My rate would be a zero

Greedy ownership operates this facility on a shoestring budget. Incredible staff turnover, low morale, none exultant supervision of care staff, are [name removed] some of the significant deficiencies noted. Laundry service is disgustingly. Residential grade washers and dryers are often out of service and on many occasions we noted no detergent available but that didn’t stop staff from running the washers. , Resident rooms and common areas mopped with dirty water. Incontinent residents are very infrequently checked for soiled diapers and left uncleaned for entire shifts. Management promises of improvement are a joke! Get out of Ivy Springs as quick as you can.

Windrush has gone downhill quickly over the past two months. I am regularly in the building and absolutely shocked. First of all, the building smells awful- constant stench of urine. It is obviously not cleaned properly. Every time I come in, there are residents parked in front of a TV. Doesn’t matter if it’s 9am or 2pm. Most of these residents appear to be cognitively impaired and in wheelchairs without the ability to ambulate themselves. The staff turnover has been incredible. [name removed] was always warm and accessible and truly seemed to care. The new lady is like an ice princess. She walks around not talking to anyone and has moved her office away from everyone which is really weird. [name removed], [name removed]and [name removed] are fantastic and a constant. I’m not sure what direction the building is going in but I caution families to really pay attention and do your research.

Although the people were friendly, it was dark and didn't smell good. The residents didn't seem happy. They were just existing. It was more of a nursing home than an assisted living facility. It was very disappointing.

I would not recommend this facility for any family looking for memory care. While some nurses on that unit were very caring and helpful I found that it was understaffed and they expected family to hire full time caregivers to do the staffs job. Which can be a financial burden when you are already paying a monthly fee for the patient being there. The rooms were often dirty, bathrooms not cleaned. The resident air conditioning was broken for a long period of time. Management would never respond to email unless they needed something from you. Often times there were injuries not reported to us and we didn't know until we saw visible bruises. in the Savannah area I have heard better things about [removed name] having adequate staff which I think makes a difference in the type of care you receive for your loved one

I wouldn't recommend them at all! Nothing above 1. Administration doesn't know how to run the place. There is no training for the med techs. The food is not ily not nutritional but bad tasting. They lie to you about their staffing that they have. The care is atrocious. They give out meds incorrectly or not give them at all. My father was left for three days without his insulin. Twice. I would not put anyone I cared about anywhere that place.

Overall experience was terrible quality of care terrible zero activities would not recommend this to nobody. I had my loved one in there for a week and I was doing everything. Please do not recommend this place to anybody for $[removed]a month. I guess you pay for what you got.

1's for all of them. The place was horrible. They would hours to respond to request call. I'm serious. The food would often be cereal or not all delivered. Quality of care was horrible. I honestly think they need to be investigated.

The facility is facing problems. It is in turmoil and I sincerely hope it can be resolved for the benefit of the residents. There were numerous occasions when my husband's call button received no response, particularly at night. I was there and observed this myself. The conditions were absolutely filthy at times and I cleaned his apartment myself often. There are some excellent aides employed there but they are overworked and struggling. There are also some employees who should not be in this field. I have repeatedly requested a breakdowns of bills but have yet to receive anything. Needless to say I relocated my husband and the difference is night and day. He is safe, receiving the attention he needs and deserves and happy in his new assisted living facility.

Horrible management. Incompetent and will lie to cover their problems. The were some caregivers that care and worked hard. Facility is old and run down and not the cleanest. By the time we left they were down to about 7 residents. The lack of leadership is their downfall

They are understaffed, and turnover is high. Even the director left in less than a year. There are no call buttons for the residents. The receptionist is very rude. Etc. I do not recommend. My father-in-law fell many times in the 3 months he was there. The last fall resulted in a broken hip and then a blood clot. Now he is in hospice. The only positive is that he was kept clean.

The facility was deplorable . Filthy with patients crawling on the ground. Understaffed, one shift was a med tech and the cleaning lady . I withdrew my husband after 3 weeks . He was not getting showered except if I did it . The most reprehensible part was my husband was NOT getting is proper medications , as soon as I transferred him and he was properly treated he was no longer difficult or agitated. This should be inspected and shutdown by the state!!

Caught a staff member sleeping with her head on the table(memory care). Mom skin was dirty, they don't wash and bathe the residents like they supposed to. After my mom had several incidents ( falling and ER visits) I moved her out!!!

I would not use the assisted-living or total care site at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but if they must go due to price, then use the independent site only.

The caretakers that were there were very kind to my mom. I know they were very short staffed and had a hard time keeping up. Didn't seem like they got any help either. Now that we are leaving they finally brought all of her mail after 3 months. Everything we were told did not happen! First of all she had a call alert necklace for emergencies the first week she was in there it didn't work. Got it working but when she did use it for help no one would respond. Medications at the beginning were not on her regular schedule. Food was rarely hot if at all, never was delivered at same time or on time for that particular meal. Same veggies all the time and mom said sometimes she didn't even know what the meat they served was. The amount of food served at times wouldn't be enough for a 5 year old! Supposed to get 2 showers a week....she's been there since [date removed] and has had maybe 5 showers and one of those was given by my sister. Absolutely no activities going on, no one out socializing. Most everyone on my mom's wing was memory care and we were told that they were in a separate wing. Mom was afraid of leaving her cottage because a memory care resident kept banging on her door and kept trying to get in. My mom had to lock her door, which was another problem! There was a constant beeping in the main commons area which made it difficult to sit in.

They are severely understaffed. On one occasion, a patient stood up with his walker backwards, took about 20 steps, then fell. One worker was at a table, feeding someone and on her phone at the same time two others were feeding folks. The staff was completely unaware. There was not enough staff for the number of people in the dining room. On another occasion, we watched a woman pee on the floor in the commons area and the response to it was to put a chair over the top of it. We were there for quite a while before leaving and no one attempted to clean up the mess. The next day the stain was still on the floor and the place still smelled like urine. I have elderly friends in other care, facilities, and I’ve seen more workers and they get better care. Don’t be fooled by the paint job and the fancy chair rails. Very expensive care compared to other facilities.

Ignoring residents is a regular occurrence at this facility. Using "I'll be there in a minute" to memory care patients & never returning, hoping they will ultimately forget. They are understaffed! The ladies who work in the evenings are still in HIGH SCHOOL!!!! Guests frequently have unnecessary injuries from preventable falls if the staff was paying even one bit of attention. They are too busy on their cell phones to care! What a joke!

BEWARE: DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY!!! The staff here ignores simple requests from patients. They do NOT pay any attention to what happens there. Residents often sustain unnecessary injury because of a lack of help/care. In a short period of a week and a half, I witnessed a man get up using his walker backwards until he fell on the floor, a woman take down her diaper and urinate on the living room floor which was not cleaned up for over 45min. They put a chair over the stain!!! The staff belittles guests and makes them feel unwelcome. They make up reasons to get POAs upset to limit visitation. They enable isolation of their residents. It’s sooo sad to watch!!! For the sky-high rate this facility charges, you could receive MUCH BETTER CARE!!!
