This is not a homey place. The residents are all kept in the common area during the day, and their doors are locked. Residents cannot enjoy time in their own rooms during the day. The common area is just one large room with chairs that they sit in. The place seems to have a variety of activities.

We toured this community when looking for my mother and I wouldn't put my mother here. The environment is institutional. They offer skilled nursing and rehabilitation so there are people in casts and wheelchairs and it's very depressing. I also didn't like that they had residents with so many levels of care needs. They stick all the residents in one area and it's not welcoming The size of the rooms are very small, they are like studios and they market them like full sized apartments.

Most staff are friendly and work very hard, especially since they have become more and more overworked due to the continued reducing of staff over the past several months. It is my understanding they are selling to another company. Hopefully things will improve. My parent has lived here for 14 months. We continue to have issues with the weekday nurse ordering medication in a timely manner, dispersing medication correctly to Resident Assistants, etc. Thankfully, my parent does not have life and death issues with medication at this point in time. It is roller coaster ride, and a family member has to always be monitoring and checking up on this aspect of her care along with her oxygen management (yes there were many issues with this, however currently it is going ok). Most activities on the the calendar NEVER happen. It looks great, however even when there has been a director of activities, most don't happen. Meals are fair and the posted menu for the day, often is not what is offered. What you see is not necessarily what you get. Today, residents received a letter stating that medications would no longer be dispersed to them at their apartment. They will need to come to a common area on the first floor beginning Feb. 20, to receive medication. Since residents pay extra for this assistance, and this is not what was agreed to, it goes to show management's lack of care and concern for residents. Many have different forms of dementia, have difficulty getting around, etc. It would seem that this could pose a greater risk for medication errors during disbursement. This is a very poor plan in my judgement. Again, managers seem nice to your face, however there is a lack of true management skills and common sense. Unfortunately for my loved one, there is dementia and the recent changes has been confusing. This new issue will have to be resolved. A few months ago they changed meal time for everyone. Now there is an assigned time to go eat, again because they have reduced the amount of staff. My family member is confused and still goes down at the old time and will just sit and wait for 45 minutes doing nothing, until they take a meal order. Good luck finding the best placement for your loved one. I know that budget and proximity to other family are always a concern. Regardless of where you place your loved one, be their advocate. Drop in often and check on the important items for your loved one.

I did not have a problem with the staff but one thing that I was upset with was that my grandmother was in the front with her robe and hair cap on with zero oxygen and they told me that she kelp pushing the call button that was around her neck. So they just kept her up front. I did addressed that concern but that was it. They way they go about things I did not like. My grandmother said she was treated completely wrong and they talk to her any kind of way. Ashley was the only one she loved that treated her nicely. We moved her to another assistant living and she been there for about 3 week and she loves it there. My grandmother is over 90 years old and she was very upset living there the first week.

My brother toured this community and did not like it. It was not as comfortable and welcoming as we were looking for. The staff was friendly and informative, it was a small community.

The community did not offer enough care and activities for my loved one. The building was poorly maintained and had an extremely small dinning area for all of the residents. The staff who where on shift during my tour did not seem to be enjoying there job and looked very unhappy.

The assisted living facility is great-very well appointed, clean and lots of activities. The memory care unit is the exact opposite. Although the director of the unit is wonderful they seem to be understaffed and often not aware of the residents needs. Many family members have safety concerns which are explained by the higher ups as "not allowed by state regulations".

It has not been a good experience here at Brookdale. I am trying to wait it out before moving my grandmother to a new commuinty. The mangement informed me they were hiring more people because they are very under staffed. The caregiviers are rude and have mistreated my grandmother because I have brought up some on my concerns to mangement. She wasn't getting her medicine on time and I wasn't happy with the care she was recieving from them. I wouldn't recommend this community until some improvements happen to the staff.

I visited many ALFs in Lakeland when my family member was looking for a place. Grace Manor Suites is quite large and has three stories. It appeared clean and the décor is pretty. Private rooms are large. It definitely felt like a facility more so than a home. The halls look like a hotel. There are stairs at the end of each hall. The elevator stays full. I found the building to have a busy atmosphere and it felt kind of stressy. For the wheelchair bound, it would be hard to get downstairs in an emergency.

Good place my only concern is the food budget. I think they need a bigger budget for food. Activities are great .

We waited for the manager beyond our appointment time and left. No one smiled, not even the visitors. Had a bad feeling after talking to some of the residents. Mom did not want to go back.

I'm not sure it's going to be a good fit for our loved one. For now, some of our needs are being met, but we have had a couple of instances that were very concerning. I don't know that they have enough people on staff. They say they can handle memory care, but I am not sure they are trained enough to work with that. I will walk by rooms and hear people calling for help. I chose them because I liked the way they presented themselves, and they said they could handle it. I wouldn't recommend them, especially if you think you aren't going to have to worry about your loved one. My loved one is losing some function now. If they don't require a lot of assistance, or if they had enough people on staff, it would probably be a good place.

Do not place your loved one here. This use to be a fabulous place but has been getting worse and worse the last 6 months. The entire management staff has turned over in the last 6 months and many positions remain open. The facility is terribly understaffed. Medication dispensing is chronically late and the food service is disorganized with long waits. The advertised resturant style dining is non existent. The same worn out activities occur every week with little participation. There are no weekend activities. There has been attrition recently among the residents and more will come. Hardly worth the price tag.

We considered going here, but the room was tiny. They wanted to do some shuffling around with the rooms to get us into a bigger one eventually, but it just felt shady. As soon as I walked into the memory care, I started gagging from the smell of urine. I knew I could never put my parents there, never in a million years.

When I arrived they couldn't find any one who knew about my appointment for the tour. The tour was given to me by the maintenance manager. Very unorganized. The rooms were very small and not up to date. No activities were going on. It was a little smelly. The common area carpet was dirty. I didn't feel was very secure. The person giving the tour wasn't even sure of the cost.

The needs of the residents are often neglected. The facility is short staffed and has a very high turnover. Managers are not good to their employees. Talk to family members before allowing your loved one to move in there. Ask lots of questions.

Dark. Cleanliness was an issue as there seemed to be no polish to the place.

Disappointed in Atria. During tour visits I was told that my Dad would “flourish” and that he would be taken care of. Unfortunately Atria tells us more, daily, of what they “can’t do” or “won’t do”. I thought they could do a better job, than me, of caring for my Dad. I was wrong! My Dad is now having a toe amputated because no one informed the family that he had sores on his toes. They have allowed him to sit in a dirty depends, more than once, causing skin breakdown on his bottom. He fell and injured his knee. They wouldn’t even put a band aid on the wound. So many things have gone wrong that I can’t, in good conscience, recommend Atria. This place does not live up to the level of care they sell you when they are trying to recruit you. Essentially, it’s false advertising. We were very honest and up front with all his medical conditions. I wish they had told us, up front, they couldn’t provide an ounce of medical care. If your loved needs any medical care this is NOT the place to go. So, so disappointed in Atria.

Quillen Manor does not have any social activities or social directors. There are no social events. People living in Quillen Manor go there to just sit around waiting to die. The food is not very appetizing. I made my own activities by building a rose garden in front of the facility. I maintained the back yard which was supposed to be a garden area but no staff member did anything out there.

They can't keep staff very long which includes the executive director and care manager.
