Mainstay Healthcare Management

As a professuonal opinion, This is a family oriented facility with a friendly staff. Everytime I go there, there is some sort of activity....whether it be worship, bingo, snack time or a luau. Much thought goes into providing activities and social time for the residents and full accomodations for them, as most are in wheelchairs. There seems to be sincere sense of love shared with the residents by the staff.

We selected Savannah Court in Oviedo FL since it was 15 minutes from our home, had many activities and was an appealing atmosphere. My Mom is adjusting but she wants to return to her home in New York state but we do not think this will be possible since she fell and now has therapy regularly and they have an in house doctor and podiatrist at the facility. They have outings to different lunch places regularly and at Christmas a bus tour was provided to see the Christmas decorations at the University of Central Florida, as well as many musical events and children singing and bringing goodies for the residents. Our main idea about having her in Florida is the easy flying conditions from Colorado for my brother and there are more relatives here in Florida than New York . Hopefully she will adjust better the longer she stays here.

Really nice, but the only room that they had available was not going to be a good situation. It was really tiny room, and her roommate would have been only in her 40's and had had a stroke and couldn't talk clearly. My mom is hard of hearing so they wouldn't have been able to communicate at all. The worst thing was that the bed was so close to the closet that she couldn't have gotten between them with her walker. It's a pretty place with nice people. They gave us a Boston creme pie when we toured!

This is a small facility with around 32 residents. The grounds and facility is beautiful and well kept. The rooms are some of the biggest in the area which is a big plus when down-sizing from a house. Since it is small, there are not as many activities as some other places I visited, but it seems to be sufficient for those living there. My only complaint and the complaint from my Mother who lives there is, the food needs to be healthier. Meat seems to be the largest portion of the meals. Although protein is important, they should concentrate on more vegetables and entree's containing more vegetables. More fruit and healthy items like yogurt should be offered. Less white rice, fried foods, white bread or buns, and chips should be served and more healthy versions should be put in place of those items. Also more fruit based desserts should be offered.

husband was only there for 5 days. cannot give a fair report. he went to hospital with pneumonia and then to a rehab.

Director [name removed]y with no reason, and hired a fired nurse/manager from another facility with no experience to be a director [name removed] (never got her card) made absolutely no sense. He was a wonderful, interactive, and caring director with staff, residents, and families. [name removed]was hired immediately in a new facility in Georgetown that our loved one cannot afford. [name removed) fired a lot of staff, some needed to be, but she should be replaced as well. None of her staff like her mgmt style. The food quality went downhill, they don't take care of their landscaping, and it's just plain not the same friendly environment anymore. We've applied for [name removed] to be moved to the VA Victory House in Walterboro, SC. Several residents left immediately after [name removed] was hired. And, the staff is so under educated that our loved one almost died on [date removed]Thank God, my husband [name removed] asked me to check in on [name removed] on way home that evening...they missed all three red flags that day. The ER stabilized him within an hour or the doctor said he would have died!

My mom is in memory care, so our existence is limited to that hall. The care each day varies widely based on the staff on duty - some are incredible and work very had to assist the residents (many on this hall who need a lot of physical assistance ); others are often found sitting in the resident recliners on their phone with residents just parked all day in their wheelchairs. In those days, bathroom assistance or diaper changes were also sparse. They have a new head nurse who is aware and ready to make some changes which we hope come to fruition and help.

Negative...she was in the memory unit. One Sunday afternoon we went to visit and the worker in there was sleeping, my grandmother was in a recliner, soaking wet through 2 diapers, the chair was also wet . When we let executive director know she said the lady was fired but we later saw her there still working. We moved her to another facility

Too many turnovers Lack of staff Food score horrible I can go daily, so I know my mom is safe and cared for. Other residents don't have as much family support.

Positive -the front door staff. Negative- watching employees seeing how they treat patients that may not get a lot of visitors. Try to be as involved as possible and make unscheduled visits/non routine.

Ask a lot of questions, give transition time for both sides. There should be a better way for patients to ask for help when in their rooms. Calling the desk works in the daytime but not at night.

It's been an ok move. They have had a lot of turn over with staff that been a bit difficult for my Dad. I do not know any of the new staff. They have a new director, to cook, new front desk person, new driver, new sales person. I dont know anyone there now. I have no idea what happened and why the turn over

They have experienced a lot of employee turnover. On the third Administration team in the past 12 months. This group is the best so far

Friendly and supportive staff. Also the meals look appetizing. I would recommend.

When we first went in there was not a person at the front desk I asked a man didn't know if he was staff we met the person she went over some information we asked some questions then she took us in the back to memory care the first time I noticed everything was out dated I saw three people in memory care there was not any enter acting with the people they was just sitting looking at a TV with no sound we met two staff workers my husband asked some questions only one spoke the rooms was out dated the room we saw for my brother was in the back conor where I think he would have been left out in his room it just wasn't the place I would want my brother to be at.

Excellent facility, clean & attractive. Staff friendly and fairly helpful, but slow to help with government paperwork. Staff Dr/pa too busy, not very responsive. Food too bland for my cousin, but I imagine same elsewhere. Very few men and no focused effort on activities for them. My cousin is not used to having other people around, so he'd have problems just about anywhere. It would be nice if they had grounds to walk around in like a couple of other places we saw, but thankfully the tv options are plentiful!

Food service and quality is going downhill. Short staffed and a lot of turn over. As we get older changing people so much is uncomfortable for the residents. Some take better care of the residents than others. I would not recommend them at the moment. It may improve since Sunburst bought it.

My mom loved the two rooms with den and kitchen in one and bedroom in other. There seems to be a lot of turnover. There are times that you may not see any staff at all when you visit. My mother passed in June. I would have tried to move her to another facility. I had to stay on director to get her clothes washed, get her shower, get her room cleaned. She was assessable but it was a constant struggle. My mom would press her necklace and response time would often be more than 15 minutes and often 30 minutes...

Grand Villa was not a good fit for my wife. She needed more care and we transferred to a skilled nursing facility.

Owner is cheapskate repairs only after very many requests. I recommend with caution.
