Magnolia Manor

I am very happy there. I'm glad to share that my first six weeks have been all I expected plus some. Staff is responsive and easy to work with.

Staff and tenants are both extremely friendly and helpful. Everything is great there it's just the food is overcooked.

It is a nice place to live, the residents help each other out. Nini and (Tar)Lisa (and her assistant) are wonderful; they do a great job with residents. They are respectful and friendly. The maintenance man is helpful too.

The apartments are spacious, I love mine! The food is hit and miss. I get one meal a day and like the flexibility of which meal. The activities are a lot of fun, they celebrate something every day. The activities staff is amazing, as well as transportation. The dining staff is friendly and helpful. The pastor is wonderful.

The staff here is wonderful, however, there is quite a turnover in employees. This frequently causes being short staffed, especially in the dining room and in housekeeping. The facility is nice, but old and in need of repair in some areas. For example, there are several hallways with very large screens that are in serious need of repair. They are detached from the molding and allow insect to enter the hallways. These windows are up two stories high, and the administrator advised a hydraulic lift would be needed to replace the screens. Apparently, they are unable to find a hydraulic lift or to find a service who could provide help. Bus service to area churches on Sunday has been discontinued. The a/c on the bus is broken, so no field trips. These things have been very disappointing. I do not know why repair is delayed, unless there is a lack of funds. I will say the grounds here are beautiful and beautifully maintained. My apartment is very nice and I have a beautiful view from my screened in porch.

Moving at 81 years old is not easy but with a great moving company and the help of the friendly staff somehow it got accomplished. My first day here I was greeted by several residents with warm welcoming smiles and offers of help if I needed anything. I was also told by many residents that I was going to love it here and after one week that has turned out to be true. I have chosen to eat lunch each day and I'm assigned the same table each day and have 3 other tablemates. It makes for some lively conversations and a great social hour. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and there are many beautiful walking paths. I walked by the ponds today and saw lots of fish and turtles. I also love having a screened porch to keep the bugs away and it gives me a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view of the pond and water spout. I feel the building must be very sturdy and well insulated as I never hear any noises after closing my apartment door. Its also very quiet at night.

The floors and bathrooms really need attention. The cost is a bit high. I think that it should include housekeeping and at least 1 meal a day. Make it clear to families what independent living rent includes. I believe that it was clear to me but not to my elderly aunt.

After 65 years of marriage and the last fifteen of those taking care of her husband (who had a stroke), our mom decided after dad passed away she no longer wanted to be at their home alone. She desired to be where she had activities and friends. After looking at several options, she chose Magnolia Manor. After several months there, she has adapted well to her surroundings. She loves the daily activities such as Bingo, crafts, and devotion time. She has made new friends and enjoys their company. She is an avid card player, so she has joined a couple of Bridge clubs at Magnolia and the community. We only live ten minutes away from Magnolia. She loves the independence of driving out to our house to visit and play with her great grandchildren. She also likes being close to great shopping, a local pharmacy, and a choice of grocery stores. We feel great sense of relief knowing she is happy and cared for at Magnolia. The residents there genuinely care for each other.

My mom says the food quality is hit or miss.....and also we both were under the impression that breakfast, lunch, and dinner were served. Only to find out only lunch is served. And find it odd that residents are allowed to take their lunch back to their apartment but are NOT allowed to take a beverage back. The property is very beautiful and has security day and night. The maintenance staff are very helpful and nice. Again about food service, no staff members will bring a resident their meals if they are stuck in their apartment for medical reasons or mobility issues, I feel they should have staff for such occurrences.

The staff is great so helpful and caring! The facility is very convenient for family to visit. It is also very clean, especially when my parents moved in!

Like - I liked the meals and the cleanliness of the facility Improvement - I just wish it offered more nursing assistance to the residents.

She is a lot of fun and full of ideas to entertain us.

I have been here for 3 and a half years. Since Covid, we have been understaffed. It has been very hard on them but they have done an excellent job.

Have enjoyed living here [time frame removed].

We live out of state and wanted her to move closer to us, but she seems to be thriving at Magnolia Manor of Americus. The family chose it because it was close to other family and friends and her church. It was the best option for her. She is doing tai chi, and she plays bridge and is still being able to continue to enjoy her swimming at the community. They have a small library and book mobile and community center nearby. She drives her own car but they do offer transportion. The meals they serve is a country type fare, it seems to suit her well. It is an older community and they are in the process of redoing the carpet. She is happy and enjoying life. It is a good fit for her.

My husband toured this community and he said the people were all friendly and nice. It was too far to easily travel to see my sister and that's why we chose another option.

As far as I know everything has been working out for mom. She has even started taking on different jobs and doing things to keep here busy. She likes the community and the staff and I believe that she has found her place to stay.

My tour of this community was an alright one. From what I saw everything looks pretty well maintained. The staff was kind and courteous. They answered my questions and everyone was very friendly. It was a pleasant tour, but not the community for me.

Since my Mother needed more help than independent living but not as much as assisted, the catered living is just right. The employees are kind and caring. The small screened in porch is just right for her to sit outside when she feels like it. The common areas are beautiful and inviting.

Overall I think things have gone very well at Mangolia Manor! It's a beautiful, clean, well kept facility, and the care staff all seem very friendly! The place has a real comfortable family atmosphere! It's a smaller community, so each resident really gets a lot of attention. However, I do think they could be clearer and more communicative about how their billing and pricing structure works. What we thought was a down payment on the first months rent ended up being some sort of unrelated community fee.
