My mother is doing very well here. She is in the memory care side of the facility and I feel like they have a unique kind of approach that was different than other facilities we have looked at. They look at the whole person and see what they are good at and finds activities that are more purposeful and meaningful. They were especially good about this with my mother because she was not doing well with assisted living but was not quite ready for memory care. They had her set the tables, she has her own job title as resident aid, helped gardening, etc. They have a chicken run in the courtyard and she is able to pick them up and help get the eggs. They have a facility dog named George and she helps to take him out and things like that. Overall it has been a really good experience for us.

We really like how attentive and accommodating the staff have continued to be. We visited other communities and those communities just did not seem as mature as this one. There is so much to learn when this is your first experience, we think they would really benefit by giving families tips with all collected information they have received from other families - almost like a guideline sheet.

I have personal knowledge and experience with the Health Services Department with Clarendale at Bellevue Place and I am happy to give an excellent rating. They are genuine, caring, compassionate and well qualified. Clarendale is a lovely community and their Health Services Department is exceptional.

My in-laws moved into a cottage home at GVS in [date removed] while in their 70s. They enjoyed all of the activities, opportunities to get involved, meet others, and experience maintenance-free independent living. When my mother-in-law became terminally ill she moved to the [community removed] and received very good care. My father-in-law has now lived in the apartments for 8 years. What makes GVS 5 stars? Amazing friendships, good exercise, fun entertainment, quality meals, engaging activities, enriching trips, and excellent staff all in one place. In fact, our family believes he is still thriving at age 92 because of all he has been able to contribute to the GVS community and all it has given back to him in the [date removed] years he has lived there. We appreciate how the staff responded and adapted so quickly to the pandemic and its challenges. We are fortunate to have GVS in Greenwood!

Sedgebrook is worth looking into from our experience. The community is expensive and they are upfront about what the expenses cover. The amenities are fantastic. The staff are great and the community is beautiful. My loved one has made friends quickly and this has made all the difference for us and them. This has been a positive experience and change for my loved one.

I'd like to thank the Cypress Glen Community (staff and residents) who have made my mother's first year there so special! Relocating to her new home in Greenville (especially during a pandemic) one year ago went very well. Our family (including Mom) have been pleased with the care she's received and the friends she's made. Happy First Anniversary to Mom at Cypress Glen!

We chose Heritage because we noticed that it did not feel like a retirement community, it felt warm and inviting and did not smell. They also do not have much turnover in staff which was a big thing for us. We like that they have a little restaurant there that we are able to take grandma to eat at. They also have a physician that comes on site who is amazing and you do not have to take your loved ones out for appointments. I would highly recommend to others looking.

I think this is an excellent community. The staff are very caring towards the residents. They go out of their way to meet the needs of the residents and families. The community tries very hard to keep the residents safe as well. Anytime I call the staff is willing to do anything I ask. My loved one is happy here.

We had a great visit with the Assisted Living Sales Manager. She enlightened us on things we had not thought of and gave great info. Great communicator and really caring person. The studio set up was spacious, huge bathroom, and has fridge, freezer, and microwave. The residents were having a ball, playing cards... we could hear them laughing from down the hall! The ladies we spoke with told my mom they loved living there and food is great. My mom did not want to look any further. You need to visit South Port. Our experience exceeded expectations. This is a nice community and the people there are very friendly and active. They have a lot of activities and buses for the residents to to go to stores and more. The amenities are nice and works out well with an active independent living community.

It seems to be a great place. The care there is tremendous, and I expect that flows from the top down. They do a good job with cleanliness, even amidst some renovations going on right now. The staff are great. The food has always been really good. Activities are great as well. They provide a lot of opportunities for things to do, and they work really hard to get the residents involved. The cost is pretty high, but it seems worth it. It it's something you can afford to do and you want your relative to be taken care of, Green Country is a good place to go. They really do a great job.

My husband and I moved to Cottage Grove Place 6 months ago and it was the best decision we've ever mad. We have been asked many times by family and friends " so how is CGP?" and we reply without hesitation "we love it!". We are so relieved to to be free of the responsibilities of a large, older home and yard. We are very comfortable in our new home with all the amenities living at CGP provides, including the wide variety of activities and good food. The residents and the staff have been very welcoming as well. But the most important feature for us is the security and peace of mind know there are caring professionals a phone call away should we need help.

I find Cottage Grove Place responsive to its residents, well staffed, and trying to meet the needs of all residents. When you consider the range of services provided, it is an excellent facility to meet all the needs of its residents.

My wife and I came here to retire, not to vegitate. A prime consideration was location and transportation. A number of centers have transport but you are in town, on bus routes as well. Your offered transport is great and I use it regularly but I can get downtownor the mall by city bus as well. I live in a community with interesting people, with access to a substantial range of things to do.

We just moved my Father -in-law into Clarendale of Addison yesterday. So far we have had a wonderful experience. We are still trying to figure out the system but I am confident he will be very happy here. The residents so far have been extremely friendly and welcoming!

[name removed] and I moved into independent living at CGP in 2017. Our day to day living really didn't change very much except we now longer have to worry about maintaining a house or the lawn/garden, snow shoveling, ect. They have a full roster of activities to keep us occupied if we desire, wether it be group field trips to local points of interest, or card game playing in the facility, or assembling jigsaw puzzles individually or in small groups or story-telling gatherings., My favorite pastime is working in the extremely well-equipped woodshop making all sorts of crafts from scroll sawn plaques to wooden bowls turned on the lathe to whatever your imagination can conjure up. .Very friendly environment - in many cases, new residents come in as strangers but soon become3 friends with one or two acquaintances and them more and more. Cottage Grove Place is definitely a Community of seniors.

I was looking for some help with my mother who lives with me and my husband. We were looking at all options including in-home personal care and assisted living. I spoke with several places in Lexington. [name removed] with Richmond Place was one of two that followed up with me. Once I decided that maybe I needed to wait, the others stopped checking. [name removed] followed up with me regularly via text and calls. She made me feel very comfortable with asking questions and just supported me. We eventually decided to go with in-home personal care and [name removed] and [name removed] were amazing with helping get us set up. I will recommend Richmond Place to anyone who needs help with elder parents. Thank you.

In October 2021, my mom relocated to The Gardens at Freedom Village. For many reasons—dementia, resistance to moving, and leaving her home of 50 years—we expected Mom’s move to be challenging. The entire staff created a transition plan: a clear contract, quick turnaround on her room, and receiving Mom on her terms on move-in day. While never easy, Mom’s reaction to the move and her adjustment overall were much better than we had hoped—all because of the care demonstrated by the staff. Within her first week, Mom was seen onsite by her new physician. Her flu shot and COVID boosters were given, and she was accompanied to a routine medical exam. Day-to-day, the staff helps her select clothing, schedules a haircut at the salon, or even chooses menu items, all while preserving her independence and dignity. Because of the professionalism, personal interest, and patience of [name removed] and [name removed]—both of whom are tremendous assets to Freedom Village—Mom is transitioning well.
