I love living at GVS and have for 11 years. This decision to move to GVS has been a gift to my children since I made the choice for myself. Coming here at a younger age was a great decision because it truly becomes your home! I am grateful the staff does everything they can to make us feel safe and cared for. The added bonus is all the great friends that come into your life!

GVS is a CCRC or Continuing Care Retirement Community. There are so many activities here to keep everyone who is interested able to enjoy life. All in all we are a large family working together who help each other enjoy these retirement years of our lives. GVS is made up of 86 free standing independent homes, a large independent living apartment building, assisted living facility, rehab, memory care and skilled nursing. Whatever your need may be you will find it here! All of this is resting on 75 acres whereby you can walk or ride a bike free of traffic. I have lived here for 25 years and I am very happy to have spent these retirement years in such a wonderful place.

My parents have been at Pomperaug for many years. They have periodically needed the services of the Health Center, which is a first-rate facility. The administrative staff treats us like family. The dining room choices are like a fine restaurant. Best of all, the cultural and artistic activities are creative and stimulating. The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. Our family gives Pomperaug the highest rating on all counts!

The staff members are extremely friendly to the residents and even the families. Every time we come to visit they always ask us how the family is doing and what all we have been up to. They are so hands on, anytime our loved one needs assistance they are right there to step in. The call us anytime they have questions or updates no matter how big or small the update may be. All of the residents are super friendly, even the residents who live on the top floors in independent living will come down to the assisted living folks and mingle. Everyone is always in the common gathering areas just socializing with one another. Our loved one really seems to enjoy the meals and dining service. They provide different daily activities - they have happy hours everyday and onsite physical and occupational therapy. The Village also like sits near this park that is surrounded by water and they have a wheel chair accessible free trolley that will take the residents everyday around to the different local shops and restaurants. Our loved one also have a really nice apartments that has a living area, bedroom, ADA bathroom and was able to bring their own furniture.

I am searching for my parents. The Delaney certainly lived up to their reviews. The staff was so friendly and the community is beautiful. The residents all said how much they love living there and the food looks and smells fabulous.

There are many selections for food, and the food is delicious. The maintenance team responds quickly. There are many activities available for us, to include cards, bingo, working on puzzles, plus many others that we have not tried yet. The friendships we've made are wonderful. And, we've become reacquainted with many people we have known in the past, which has been a great bonus. We think it would have been better if we'd moved in sooner rather than later. All the staff have been excellent, from administrative, to housekeeping, and all. We appreciate all the services available.

Great experience and very clean

Living could not be better than living at Regency Oaks. You have a great set of neighbors. They are friendly and fun to be with. The Staff are great people willing to go the "extra mile". We have lived here nearly ten years and it doesn't seem nearly that long!! The grounds are well cared for and beautiful to look at. The buildings have been well cared for. I never thought I could retire in such a great place to live.

My husband and I moved here almost ten years ago, and we haven't regretted it for a single minute. The people, residents and staff, are amazing--so friendly and helpful. There are more activities than any one person can do, and new residents are readily accepted. The food is great, the grounds are gorgeous and you are welcome to participate in as many or as few as you desire.

I feel very safe and live independently. The neighbors are friendly and care about one another. The Maintenance Department at GVS is very prompt in making repairs that are needed. There are various ways of participating in activities for social entertainment as well as a convenient Wellness Center for physical exercise for individual use or classes taught by an instructor. The location of Greenwood Village South is convenient for shopping at grocery stores or other retail stores and also close to various church denominations.

I recently helped my parents secure an independent living apartment with Danberry at Inverness, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the decision or how we’ve been treated. Danberry’s facilities and services are top shelf, as is their professional staff. We’ve experienced a higher level of care and attention than we expected. I highly recommend Danberry to those considering independent living, assisted living or memory care in the Birmingham area.

Our 88 year old Mom moved in right at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. Although activities were curtailed PW did an awesome job to pivot and make sure she and all the residents were safe and well cared for. The place was kept spotless an the staff at all levels was and is amazing. Now with things mostly back open, the experience for Mom has just gotten better. From meeting new friends and dinner companions to the array of perfectly planned social and physical activities.

I moved to Freedom Village from a 55+ community. I’m so glad I did. I’m making new friends, have delicious meals in a beautiful intimate dining room every evening and never eat alone. I’m 76 and have a beautiful condo and feel safe and active.

What a great place. Beautiful, luxurious and well taken care of, the facility and grounds could not be more inviting. And the services and care are top notch. My mom is very happy there and well taken care of.

This community has it all. Great attention to detail and dedicated care staff. Dad is home. We are all very happy!

I have several friends move into Pomperaug Woods in the past few years. They love the homey atmosphere, the cheerful pleasant staff who call them by name. The food is varied and tasty, needs are met and more.!

Moving to StoneRidge was an excellent move on my part. Meeting new and interesting people in an atmosphere in which an excellent staff set the tone — where facilities are available — fitness center, swimming pool, library. The change does require adjustment, but isn’t that always the case — no matter what your age.
