November 1st will mark my one year move-in anniversary. I have enjoyed living here from the very beginning. The residents and staff are wonderful and it feels like a large, extended family. We have fun together and watch out for one another. I am thankful for my home.

If location, location, and location mean anything, StoneRidge should be at the top of the list. Mystic CT is both culturally and recreation-ally rich beyond measure. The best part is that once you move into this friendly community, and ditch all the cares of home ownership, like mowing the lawn, shoveling the snow, doing dishes, you actually have time to enjoy all the amenities. It is right off Route 95 so your friends and family can find you with ease, and join in on the fun. It is especially great for grandkids with both the Seaport Museum and the Aquarium right around the corner.

We have been Wyndemere independent living residents at for over 5 years and have loved every aspect of it. We are a part of a caring family like community, where choices abound - for hobbies, exercise, meal selection, concerts, lectures, trips, etc. Move here while you are young enough to be fully involved. A shopping center is within walking distance. The campus includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation, and nursing care. We can remain near to our significant other for nearly all aspects of future health care. World class emergency services are adjacent to our campus and our hospital is just minutes away.

We have lived here almost 4 months and just love it! We chose a town home, and the staff customized it for us. Speaking of the staff, they are lovely people who have been very helpful in getting us settled. The residents that we have met are so pleasant. I know that we will make friends as soon as we get involved in some of the activities offered at Wyndemere. There certainly are lots of things to do here! Because we live in a large town home with a big kitchen, we opted out of the meal program. However, we can eat at the Bistro or in the dining room anytime we don't feel like cooking. The food is really good! We have entertained friends at the Bistro, and they are quite impressed. All in all, we feel like we made the right decision by moving to Wyndemere.

I think the impressive staff and then the friendliness of the people living here are valuable to me. The Marketing Department was very helpful with a lunch for us and gift basket the day I moved into Wyndemere. The residents were friendly and helpful. All of these contributed to making me feel “at home.” I am pleased and grateful for the above.

After touring numerous facilities a year ago and deciding on The Delaney at Georgetown Village, even a year later I am so happy with our decision! My mother has dementia and the care is impeccable! I would highly recommend The Delaney as I have not had a concern since placing her there. Everyone on the staff from housekeeping all the way to the Director will go above and beyond!! Best decision we ever made.

We were really impressed with Harbour Village after touring other places. Everyone was friendly. The residents we were introduced to had positive things to say about living there. There was a great singer entertaining and we had a fantastic dinner.

We recently moved my mom into the newly opened independent living facility at Delaney at Parkway Lakes - we can't begin to say all the good things about the facility - the outstanding staff, the warm, welcoming nature of everyone , the roominess and spaciousness of the apartment, the meals & menu choices, the amenities. My mom is quite elderly; however, she functions independently amazingly well for her age. She is a Hurricane Harvey evacuee - lost her home & almost all of its contents - had to be rescued by boat! Essentially starting completely over! She had lived alone in her home for quite a few years and was so lonely. So quickly after moving into Delaney, her loneliness is alleviated. She is so happy & has met so many residents to enjoy meals, participate in activities, visit with, etc. While we were waiting for the Delaney construction to be completed, she lived out of town with us. During that time the staff at Delaney went above & beyond to provide any info we requested - anything they could do to assist us in her transition was offered graciously & sincerely. Her choosing Delaney is one of her greatest decisions!

My loved one is here right now and it’s taken some adjusting. There are a lot of changes going on right now with the staff so I’m not completely pleased with the way things are going. I’m hoping that once these changes take place, things will improve. The food is good, I guess. The facility is kept very clean and housekeeping comes by once a week to clean the room and do one load of laundry. They seem to provide a whole different variety of activities like a bible study, a social hour, there’s a musician that comes in, they have church, and there are few games too. The other residents seem very friendly and welcoming. The price we pay includes all of the utilities, the TV and cable, phone, and housekeeping. With everything that’s going on right now, until they get a few things straightened out, I would not recommend them.

Ever since I helped my mother move in, we only dealt with one major issue. As I was helping my mother with her belongings into her room the AC was not working, it kept cutting off. We called the maintenance man and he came to “fix” it, but it kept turning off. He was in and out of the room multiple times to “fix” it. After the last time, we went out and my mother returned to her room and she was getting ready for bed. I called her up to make sure everything was fine, but she told me that the AC wasn’t working again. I had to call around 10:00pm at night to let someone know about the situation. Finally, the assistant director got a hold of me and said that someone will be there in the morning to fix it. I told him it shouldn’t be the regular maintenance people because they obviously do not know what they are doing. You have to get a professional outside the business. That’s what they did and the professional informed me that there was an issue with the piping which was affecting the AC to turn off. Considering that it was my mother’s first night there, it was really aggravating to deal with this. However, after this incident everything was fine. The staff seemed to be very friendly and knowledgeable. They are there for you when you need to ask them something and they seem to know everything. The other residents there are very welcoming which is a big thing. They are so warm and friendly and my mother likes that part of it. The food that they serve is average, not fantastic but it’s ok. My mother is a vegetarian and they don’t seem to cater well to that special dietary need. They do have vegetables and veggie burgers, but sometimes they have meat included in there. If you have issues that are similar to this, I wouldn’t recommend this location. They have a lot of activities as well. They keep everyone updated with printing out a calendar event sheet in their mailboxes along with the menu for their meals.

I came for a tour recently and I'm impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. I love how open the fine dinning room is, and the apartment we toured looks comfortable and cozy. A place I would feel good about my parents living there.

I love this community. I'm in the independent living part of it and its great. It has washer and dryers in the rooms which is amazing. They have lots of activities like a book club,exercise club and they are about to start a computer club to teach us how to use tablets or an I pad. The staff is really friendly and they keep things clean here. The food is great and appetizing. The garden area are beautiful. I chose this place because its close to my daughter ans it is brand new only open a year. I would recommend this community.

Parkwood is a retirement community where everyone is treated as family and where personal service and care is a priority. My dad has been a part of the Parkwood family since February of 2015, which was shortly before my mother died. Communication from the staff with our family has been seamless and whenever we visit, we feel included in the community. The staff is caring, dedicated and exemplary when it comes to taking care of the needs of its residents. We would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a new home for their maturing parents or family members. [names removed] Fremont, Nebraska

We cannot begin to say how grateful we are for having found this wonderful home for our parents. This place has given us the greatest comfort knowing that our parents are well taken care of. The staff here goes above and beyond our expectations . The one thing that stands out to us when visiting Heritage Pointe is the receptionist [name removed]. When we first met her she was graceful polite respectful and answered all of our questions and made us feel very secure and let us know that if there was anything that we needed that we could call at anytime and we would be taken care of. This receptionist in our eyes receives a five-star.

I received occupational and physical therapy at Assisi healthcare at Clare Oaks. I received excellent care. The nurses and nursing techs were professional and yet friendly and compassionate. There was no long waiting to get nursing care; once I rang the buzzer someone came quickly and ready to help. The therapy was excellent and both therapists were helpful and explained each phase of the therapy. I couldn't imagine better care. Spiritual needs are also met with daily celebrations of the Mass and visits from the Ministers of Care. Anyone needing transitional care, Assisi Healthcare at Clare Oaks is the place to go.

Just a quick note about Dad's stay at Bellingham. Both Park Lane and Brandywine buildings are both very clean, nicely decorated and well maintained. Dad spent the first three weeks in the Park Lane at Bellingham skilled nursing unit after a hospital stay. The care was top notch that Dad received. All of the staff was very professional and friendly. Dad was not feeling well at all when he arrived. The nurses, aides and therapists were all very patient and compassionate with Dad. Often times Dad can be a picky eater but with the many meal choices available he was very happy with his food. The physical and occupational therapists worked very well with Dad and he made great progress during his stay. When Dad was discharged this week for the skilled unit, the nurse explained everything in detail and made the transition smooth to Brandywine assisted living next store. The social work director [Removed] was especially helpful even when she was home on the weekends making herself available to answer questions and help out. We never had the feeling that we had to wait until Monday for an answer to a question. Earlier this week Dad transitioned over to a beautiful apartment in Brandywine assisted living next door. The staff at Brandywine has been great never making us feel pressured during the process. [Removed] were very accommodating with all of our concerns and needs. The maintenance worker AQ is also very friendly. He helped us out when we needed an adjustment or question. When someone told us they would call us back they did as said even on the weekends and evenings. They have made Dad feel very welcome to his new home. I had not heard of Bellingham prior to Dad getting ill a month or so ago. We are so glad we found Bellingham and are looking forward to Dad enjoying his new home.

My parents were very hesitant to leave their home and move to a retirement community. They have been at Parkwood for over a year now, and both will tell you that this move was one of the best decisions they have ever made. They now have new friends, eat better, and are so much more active than they were at home. The removal of the stress that comes with maintaining a house and figuring out meals has improved their overall health in general. Parkwood has a very homey feel to it in that the residents are very friendly, and the entire staff is caring and knows the residents by name. If I could give the entire staff a 10 star rating, I would! I really can't say enough good things about how wonderfully they have all cared for my parents. I honestly don't worry about them as I know they are so well taken care of. The only reason I didn't give Parkwood 5 stars is because the grounds look very tired, unwelcoming, and need improvements.

It has been absolutely perfect since we moved in! Move in was simple and went so much smoother than expected. I especially love that we can go out our sliding patio door to take our dog for a walk on the beautiful property.

The staff are welcoming and friendly. The community is beautiful. They do offer some daily initiatives and trips out. Mom has started to participate in some of the activities. She says the food is so so. She has a full kitchen in her apartment. I would recommend this community.

Happy this is my home. Lots of friendly, outgoing staff and residents!
