My story at assisted healthcare at Clare Oaks has been a great adventure. The therapist work hard to help me improve on the physical and occupational activities. The staff of nurses and CNA's were always helpful and the atmosphere was light and pleasant. I certainly would recommend AHCC at Clare Oaks to anyone

Without an exception the staff were outstanding. They were professional, kind and helpful which made the time away from home less stressful. The rooms are pleasant with big windows, good lighting and plenty of room for visitors. The food varies a lot but you'll never go hungry! PT and OT are excellent and available seven days a week.

It’s great living here. They have a new chef, she has really changed things around in the dining area for the better. I now enjoy the food. They offer so many wonderful choices and a wide variety.

I am a current resident here at Clarendale of Mokena and I hope to enjoy the rest of my life here. The community has amazing amenities as well as amazing staff. All the employees here know all or most of the residents by name. I would recommend Clarendale to anyone looking for a reputable safe and loving community for their family members or themselves.

If we had known what a difference it would make for my mom's emotional well being, we would have moved her to Bellingham sooner. From the sales staff that helped us to find the perfect apartment to the service staff in the dining room, all have worked daily to make Bellingham my mother's "home"! The residents have all been very warm and welcoming; their ambassadors program is a wonderful way for new residents to get the lay of the land and meet other residents. My mom also really enjoys being seated with different residents at mealtime, which has enabled her to greatly expand her group of friends. Speaking of mealtime, the food is fabulous! While my mom very much enjoys the independence of her own apartment with a full kitchen, she loves that she doesn't have to cook and can just stroll down to the dining room for a good meal (if she's not feeling well she can have dinner delivered to her apartment). We're ecstatic that she's eating better again; proper well-balanced meals. It's also a great relief to know that she's being checked on daily. My mother had many falls in her house due to health problems; falls that left her alone for hours before she could get help. When she had a fall at Bellingham she was quickly attended to and the staff were quick to contact me to alert us to her accident which required hospitalization and several weeks of skilled nursing. Because my mother was a Bellingham resident, she received priority placement for a bed at Parklane (the skilled nursing unit at Bellingham) and the Bellingham staff worked to ensure a smooth transition to and from Parklane. All in all it's been a very good experience thus far at Bellingham, and it's wonderful to see the constant improvements that they are making to their facility.

I LOVE living at the Village at Gleannloch Farms! I am SO grateful to [Name removed] for finding it for me. I had used A Place for Mom ten years ago when looking for a place for MY mom and I was SO happy with the experience. So when my husband and I started having serious health issues I placed a call to A Place For Mom with no hesitation! The call was picked up by an incredible advisor, [Name removed]! :-) She listened so carefully and started to work on the perfect place for us. The place she found was beyond my greatest expectations and although it was fairly close to where we lived I would never have found it on my own. [Name removed] was always a quick phone call or email away as I went through the process that lead to finding The Village at Gleannloch Farms and the subsequent move-in. VGF has all levels of care which was very important to me. It even has independent living cottages which are really beautiful and have lawns (maintained by the facility), garages, a place for flower beds, etc. We settled on a two bedroom apartment in independent living. Many of the residents have lived here since it opened 10 years ago. All residents are happy, friendly, and caring. The administration and staff are incredible! They are caring, involved in the every day life of the residents, and always ready to listen. There are many activities such as outings, card games and other types of games. I love that there are jigsaw puzzles all over the building. In my current situation it is hard to plan ahead to take part in the organized activities but I love doing the jigsaw puzzles. The residents are very involved with day to day activities, doing what they love. Some garden, some help with decorating the facility, some help with arranging flowers for the chapel and the tables in the dining room,some serve on resident advisory councils, etc, etc, etc. Some (like me) are not able to do any of these activities right now and that is fine too! Everyone is accepted and loved. They have a program called "Personalized Living" which offers transportation to appointments, etc,, caregivers if needed at any level, pet sitting if needed, etc. The food is delicious! My grandchildren are able to spend the night or weekend just as if I still lived in my previous home. My family visits often and is able to join me in the dining room for meals. AND, maybe the very best thing of all - I was able to bring my two cats! Thank you [Name removed] and A Place for Mom - you are amazing!

It has been great having mom at the Oaks. Everyone is friendly and caring and there are so many activities I don’t feel mom will be isolated if I can’t get over to see her for two days. She loves the shopping trips and fell in love with Horrocks while we were out of state. If you ask a question, staff goes out of their way to get an answer if they don’t know the answer right off. Best move mom could have made.

When I finally convinced myself that I should no longer live alone, I started searching for a place to live where I would be near my family. After visiting several sites, I decided that the Village in the Woodlands was a place for me. It is well located for family and friend visits, shopping, banking and medical and dental appointments. I have never been unhappy with my decision to move to The Village. In addition to its location, it offers so many activities. I am involved in eight activities and could be involved in many more. There is no pressure to participate in activities. It is truly independent living. The staff is helpful and friendly. The other residents are friendly and congenial as well. The Village is a great place to live where I feel safe, independent, useful and can have visits with family and friends.

We haven’t made our final decision, yet, but this place was all [Name Removed] (our advisor) said it was and more. From start to finish of the tour, it just felt like the perfect place for our mom. [Name Removed] answered all our questions as did the residents we spoke with. Lovely, calm and restful property. Well maintained. Very spacious apartments. All other properties we visit will have to ‘measure-up’ to Parkwood.
